“First visit after driving by for too long. Don't drive by, this is an amazing spot for brunch on the weekend! Atmosphere outside is wonderful, wait staff was on point and very helpful, food was truly special, prepared perfect and presented beautifully, as you would expect from a great spot in WEHO. We tried the Crostinis which were perfectly sized apps and had the Breakfast burrito (so fresh with Avocado, Egg, Black Beans and Bacon) and my wife had the Herb and Giat cheese omelet, in her words “it was delicious”, and great portion of food for both of us. Have already reserved our next brunch and eager to bring our out of town guests. Excellent and looking forward to dinner as well.“

“Great spot for a date or family dinner. Went with some friends and we waited 30min past our reservation because the place was really busy. Prepare to wait. We started with their amazing bread service and a Caesar salad, both great. Then we got the meatballs, very juicy and big meatballs you can't go wrong with that. My vegan friend got the spaghetti squash pasta and although it was pretty good it was my least favorite thing I tried that night. My favorite dishes I tried that night was the losbter diavolo pasta, the chicken parmigiana, the scallops, as well as their bone in ribeye. Food is pretty decent but it wasn't the most mind blowing place I have tried but it's solid and consistently hits. Recommend“

We especially enjoyed their mushroom pizza and house fries. When it comes to drinks, perhaps it was just that this place had been overhyped as some of LA's best cocktails, but I found them to be just okay. I tried the Midnight Breakfast and Eospresso and they were both ... fine. I wish there was something a little more memorable about them. The environment felt electric and trendy, but even right at open, grew loud with voices and pumped-in music. I think I'd recommend it to everyone to try once, but it wasn't the quiet, brilliant cocktail lounge I was hoping it might be.“

“Norms is like an upper scale version of Denny’s. Denny’s is from Los Angeles as well, but the selection of food and quality of ingredients is much higher at Norms. It’s a classic Southern California diner which personally I can never get enough of for breakfast time. They have a lot of locations all over the city, but this is probably my favorite one and conveniently centrally located. Our server was extremely sweet and very fast with the refills and just overall very pleasant. One of my favorite parts is the price. Everything is pretty cheap and you really get a good amount of food. There is a large free parking lot attached to the restaurant so parking is very plentiful and easy.I started off with a cup of coffee and it was strong and just how I like it. For my breakfast I chose the El Benedicto and honestly really loved it. The chorizo was really good and seasoned very well and I added avocado which I felt was a great addition and really added to the overall flavor. I definitely would recommend it and would order it again even though I tend to try something new each time I come here. I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid diner experience.Parking: large free parking lot attached“

“Overall, we had a really nice dinner, but I would not classify Drake’s as fine dining, more so upscale casual in a really beautiful and well designed setting. I am giving a 4/5 because I feel the price did not match the quality. We spent just over $200 for our dinner, without alcohol, and I spent less across the street at Cecconi’s the prior weekend and received higher quality food. As mentioned the interior is really beautiful. It looks like classic Hollywood or a Chicago speakeasy. It’s covered in large murals of famous Hollywood celebrities both young and old in a very dark and red lit setting. There is a very large Art Deco bar in the center of the restaurant. We sat at a booth on the edge and were able to view the entire space which we loved. Our server Breanna was really great and very attentive, she did a great job. They don’t have a parking lot so it will be $15 for valet or it will be metered street parking which we were able to find two blocks away for our 7PM Saturday dinner. They have a fairly large menu with a lot of classic comfort foods. They bill themselves as a steakhouse, but everyone I know who has visited did not order steak, so I didn’t consider doing that for my meal. I started off with the Lobster Escargot and thought it had some great flavors, but it really was lacking in quantity of lobster and the overall size of the dish. It had nice flavors, but just very few of them. Next we tried the Vince Scully Fries, which had some great toppings, but the fries were nothing special. They tasted the same as pretty much any standard restaurant. For my entrée, I chose the Chicken Parmesan and thought it had a nice Ragu top, but the chicken was a bit overcooked and had zero moisture left. It was overly crispy and I really needed to drink a lot to finish it. It was no Dan Tana’s Chicken Parm. Finally for dessert we had my favorite dish of the night, which was the 21 Layer Strawberry Cake. It’s not nearly as good as the Red Velvet from The Ivy but it was honestly very good and was both of our favorite bites of the night.Overall a nice place, but I would suggest going for drinks rather than food, considering there are many well-known restaurants in this area, such as Cecconi’s and Craigs. I would recommend for a date or a dinner with friends or family, not so much a work dinner.Parking: valet or metered street parking“

“Went for dinner on Drag Bingo Night. This restaurant is where the weekend brunch drag shows originated. Other local bars & clubs followed with their own after seeing the popularity. Hamburger Mary is a great place to celebrate birthdays, bring out if town visiting guests or group gatherings to have brunch & watch entertaining drag shows. It is quite busy on the weekends so make sure to make your reservations prior to arrival. The food is on the pricey side & there is an extra fee to see the drag shows. I like the drag bingo night as it is fun & entertaining. We shared the Mary's Handbag Sampler for the table & it was a nice variety of different appetizers & dipping sauces. My least favorite is their fries. Their is a pink light inside on this evening so the pictures are not as good as can be. I ordered the ground chuck burger for myself medium rare & it was good. The bun was too soft for my liking with the the amount of fillings. Overall we enjoyed the fun ambiance & friendly staff.“

“We were in the area late on Thursday night, so we decided to stop by Barney's Beanery at around 10:30pm. I've been to the location in Santa Monica many times, but I'd always wanted to check out the original historic location. You seat yourself at whatever table you can find, and it was pretty packed but we didn't have trouble finding a table. People were sitting and leaving tables constantly throughout the night so I don't imagine you would ever have to wait too long on a Thursday at least. The crowd is definitely on the younger side and I'm 36, but I felt like a senior citizen, older by everyone by at least 10 years lol. It's a packed, loud, rowdy type of place with music blasting...not really my thing anymore but it definitely reminded me of the places I would to go in my twenties. The food was just ok... and it seemed like we were the only ones that ordered anything more than an appetizer. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, nachos with chicken, and carne asada fajitas. The only thing I really liked were the mozzarella sticks, and if I ever do come back here at such a late hour, I would probably stick to items from the appetizers menu. Service was a little slow to get started, but once we started ordering food and drinks, the server would come by regularly to check up on us. The server was definitely overwhelmed with people constantly flagging her down, but she remained friendly and I never got any sass from her so job well done. They could definitely use some more help though. Like I said, not really my type of place anymore, but I can't say I didn't enjoy myself...especially once the drinks started flowing.“

Service was a bit slow for us today, but the food items arrived fairly quickly after ordering once we were able to.They have a fairly large menu filled with all the classic diner options. Today I chose the Crab Cake Benedict and was really satisfied with it. The cake had a great crab flavor to them and were really crispy. I added avocado, which I would highly recommend doing with this dish. I wish they would have hashbrowns as an option because the breakfast potatoes aren’t nearly as good but that is a personal preference. But one thing they need to fix ASAP... the display of for sale souvenir T-shirts on hangers by the host stand makes the place seem cheap, desperate and touristy. Get rid of those NOW!!! “We had a lovely evening at the Gardenia Restaurant and Lounge last night. We went to see the actress Carolyn Hennesy perform and it was a great show! The place is small and intimate with that old time feel. It's very vintage style and I'm glad it has not been "modernized" like other places. We had excellent service from both the server and the bartender. They were very attentive. It was comfortable and seating is quite close together so you get to know others which is fun. The food is excellent. My husband and I both got the Caesar Salad and Lasagna. The salad was crisp, fresh and delicious. The Lasagna was surprisingly good with a spicy sausage that gave it a kick! We loved it. Even the garlic toast was yummy! We also ordered the house Cabernet and it was surprisingly very good!! Much better than most places for a house wine! The show was fabulous!! Carolyn is witty, funny, gorgeous and can really sing!! Afterwards we got a chance to meet her. What a thrill that was! The only issue at all is when you make reservations they are not there to confirm it and call back when they get a chance. But that's a small thing really.
