I talked to the manager for a bit about the bar and there was so much love and appreciation behind every word showed me the passion being poured into the craft! Absolutely love this place!“

“Finally stopped by for dinner on the way home after always driving by, and so glad I did! Seems like a delivery/pickup heavy spot so I basically had the dining room to myself. Very kind and friendly staff, great prices, and ridiculously good food with big portions. A good strong Thai iced coffee, perfectly seasoned crispy pork with Chinese broccoli, and delicious siumai. My food photography is trash, but good lord this was a great meal. You can hear the woks firing off in the back and taste how incredibly fresh everything is.

Her fingers moved like liquid gold on the keyboard and her compositions were witty and mesmerizing. The word that kept coming to mind as they performed was "subtle." The music was powerful, but so discrete as to be gentle and gentile. Woodwinds, Bass, and Drums - all played with the kind of delight that makes everyone love the performers as well as the music. “After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“One of my girlfriend's favorite spots. Plenty of seating, but it definitely gets busy. We started with the guac and chips, and the taro chips were insanely crunchy and so good. I ordered the Tremendous Burger, and it definitely lived up to the name. Juicy, flavorful, and one of those burgers I'd happily order again. The pizzas looked delicious too, so I'll definitely be back to try one. The whole staff was super friendly which made the experience even better“

They were great at making seating for our large party (we did make reservations in advance).
The hummus plate had lots of beautiful flavors and veggies that melded perfectly. The roasted cauliflower was especially delicious, with a sumac olive oil (I think, I'm assuming by taste), and a tahina, shug, amba dipping sauce.
The shakshuka was peppery and filling.

Lauren, the manager and many hat wearing server, took exceptional care of our table. Food was fired in the right order. We had courses come out at just the right times and great suggestions from the staff. “This review is for the drinks only, I'll update again for food! This place was pretty busy on a Sunday evening although it was a rainy Labor day weekend.

We got the Gangster, which was in thr sweater side. The Inverted Jasper and Emerald city. Both cocktails were decently strong and had a nice flavor combination.

The resturant had some outdoor seating and had a great romantic upscale vibe. The bathrooms had bidets! It's great for date nignt and there's also a piano so would love to check it out when they have someone playing live.“
