Food is always excellent here. Taste amazing, high quality ingredients, beautiful presentation. One thing about this experience is that when the staff was closing up.. I don't know if they turned off the AC or closed the doors but it got really HOT. And it kind of made me feel like they did it on purpose so that people can leave. I declined dessert, which is my fave, only because it was so friggin hot. But otherwise, dinner was great.
We love this restaurant and have been coming for many years! The food is outstanding and inventive and the service was perfect. Love the snapper for two. The wine list seems to lack moderately priced bottles, as I think the lowest price bottle is $68. But other than that, it's a perfect place in our opinion.
We had a few nights stay in Santa Monica while visiting the Getty Villa before heading up to Paso Robles for a few days of wine-tasting. Our last night there we dined at Tar & Roses, and it was a great experience. Our server Domenick and the rest of the staff were helpful and friendly.
