“I was having such a grand old time at La Fe that I wanted to take a picture of my experience. I set my phone on a ledge, but my phone fell through a crack. La Fe’s STAR employee, Caleb, had to dismantle the freakin’ couch using power tools in order to retrieve my phone. It took so much work and time and I’m so grateful. Aside from the superb service, La Fe is such a perfect spot for a date or for chilling with friends because of the stylish and hip decor. I would def recommend!“

“A perfect stay!! Celebrating my husband’s 60th! From the time we arrived, the service and attention to detail was impeccable! The entire staff was so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure my husband was enjoying his birthday celebration. It was our first stay at the Maybourne. “This is totally a hidden gem. Im glad I came across and finally got to enjoy. The vibe here was fantastic. Its a dark mellow fun atmosphere. Perfect for drinks and chatting. The staff was so friendly . One of the reason why this is such a great place to be able to still socialize while there music and other people is cus the surround system is vintage and was personalized to be played up high over everything which makes the place more comfortable. The food was marvelous wasn't expecting a Mediterranean twist but definitely loving it gave the food a special kick to the flavors . The combination of the spices and texture made the food amazing. I tried the steak and fries 10/10 and the shrimp roll be cause I love shrimp. And I loved them both . Personally I like dillso I was ok with the shrimp roll but for my ppl that dont like to try new thing I would recommend to stay away. The drinks were delicious. I had mexican can shots and Jennifer gray . Both I highly recommend. Also a mango cart cocktail but which was delicious also but it has a habanero taste to it thats not my favorite. But still enjoyed it. Something else I learned was the mixers are made natural from all the spices or fruits . Naturally extracted with also give the drinks that extra flavor. More natural and not processes. This is definitely a place to come and enjoy with friends. There was actually a birthday being celebrated and they show movies on a roll down projector this is event worthy for people looking to host an event here.“

“I'd like to share my experience at Encanto restaurant. The warm, welcoming atmosphere with soft lighting and pleasant music makes you want to stay, relax, and enjoy a good conversation. I came with my wife and child - we were greeted politely and seated exactly where we felt most comfortable. I started with the signature Margarita: perfect in presentation and flavor balance - it immediately set a great mood. Next, I ordered the ceviche set. The first two (Cona Konpachi and Aguachile) were truly outstanding - a symphony of flavors with perfectly balanced ingredients that complemented each other beautifully. The other two ceviches in the set, however, felt unbalanced - the dominant note was excessive acidity. For mains, I had the grilled fish - served on a sizzling hot pan, with a deep charred aroma and a well-judged marinade. Excellent. The steak, unfortunately, disappointed: first it was overcooked, then undercooked. But a special thank you to our server, Kristi - she was attentive and professional, and she turned my overall experience back into a very positive one. I highly recommend Encanto for its ambiance and service. As for the food - some dishes are fantastic, others still need fine-tuning. But with a team like this, I believe this restaurant can definitely bring you great pleasure.“

“After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. Their expertise is off the charts, and I highly recommend.“

“El Carmen has a nice ambience with plenty of cool decor to look at as you wine and dine. They offer a wide selection of drinks and specialize in Mexican cuisine. Funny enough, my date was the only Mexican looking person there, despite the restaurant being full. It’s more of a bar than a restaurant and I’m not mad about that. I will say that the waiters gave me a bit of an attitude which I did not like, but they were good with water refills and checking in. The seats were not comfortable, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. They had cool music, but it wasn’t even Hispanic haha. Overall, I had a good experience and recommend El Carmen.“

“We’ve come here a few times and always enjoy ourselves. A lot of specialty IPAs and pretty decent prices on some of them. I had the black and blue heart cider and it was scrumptious. Nice and tart. It’s still a little sweet and a little effervescence. Love me a 7% ABV with a seltzer! Very cozy fun vibes. Comfortable bar seating as well as comfortable booth seating. Nice little outdoor patio and then an area to play games at your hearts content! Pool table inside ping-pong, table, and foosball table outside. Darts board games you name it very cozy couch and tables out on the patio as well. Partially covered. Alistair was very attentive to my friend, but didn’t seem to feel compelled to take care of me lol. A lot of fun eye candy on the walls. Vintage goodies. Will definitely be back.“
