“MY FAVORITE LA BAR!!! My review is loooong overdue as I've been coming here for years. I've moved further South on Ventura but I still manage to come to what I feel is my home in bar form. I'm a woman who loves mixology and good bartending and most bars are extremely male centric. TLP is great for women and men. It wouldn't surprise me that many women love this bar. You will hear everyone mention "the feel" of the bar and it's because they seem to consistently hire AMAZING BAR AND WAIT STAFF. Kudos to management for keeping such excellent consistency. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME..I come to the bar I sit at the bar and get an INCREDIBLE convo from the bartenders. They always serve me the most fantastic drinks and make me feel like a FUGGIN QUEEN. I love them so much for this. They manage people well and that's hard to come by. Even if I've had a bad day they seem to always say the thing that lifts my spirits -- it's wild. Therapy in a bar almost. lol Keep up the good work guys! See you again soon.“
“Loved the delicious cheeseburger, hot crispy sandwich, and calamari. Can't go wrong with these! The service was so so. It took 2 servers to make us happy if that tells you something... refilling water and getting side items in a timely matter.“
“Don't miss this amazing gem hiding in plain sight on Ventura Blvd! This wine bar is your next happy hour or late night stop. My husband surprised me with our first visit, and upon first glance, I thought we were strolling up to the Tipsy Cow. When we deviated to the entrance of Buvette, I was surprised by an understated front door but immediately delighted with a beautiful interior. We sat at the bar, but the booths were gorgeous and intimate. My husband got the Granacha and I got the Moschofilero - both were delicious and easy-drinking. There are specific wines on the happy hour menu, so be sure to ask. And although not on the physical HH menu, the QR code on the back revealed an online HH menu with the "Adult Lunchable". Between the free bar mix (corn nuts, crunchy chickpeas and Lima beans??), and the Lunchable, it was a perfect amount of food between the two of us to keep it light but to feel satiated. Sam was behind the bar when we were there and she was so nice! We can't wait to come back to this beautiful bar and try more from their specially curated list of wines!TIPS: Street parking only. If you really love wine and wanna get your fill outside of your typical wine choices, consider signing up for their Wine Club!“
“Amazing service provided by our waitress Maria. The hostess let us sit wherever we wanted due to no traffic. Monday at 1:00pm are perfect to miss large crowds. We had bacon shrimp wraps, guacamole, bacon burger and the bbq sliders. All delicious and well made.Parking: When the parking is full head over to the in-n-out and park there. It's just a street apart.“
“My companion and I ordered the rack of lamb, which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The lamb was delightfully seasoned and so tender! The mashed potatoes, though a small portion, were delicious, as were the fresh vegetables, broccoli and carrots. For dessert we ordered carrot cake. What a huge portion !! It tasted fresh and quite yummy! Our server was excellent, and kept coming around to see if we needed anything. The place itself is very historic, could use a fresh coat of paint, but the ambience was lovely.“
“Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Pineapple Hill, and it was an incredible experience with my friends. The locally sourced foods were incredibly fresh and delicious, perfectly complemented by the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Their hospitality made our visit truly memorable, and I'm already looking forward to returning next week for another delightful meal.“
“Islands is a classic family favorite. I miss the giant birds that they had at the old location back in the day, however the modern day Islands is fresh take on the beachy island vibe of yesteryear. They have a spacious outdoor patio, bar space and plenty of booths inside. The menu has changed quite a bit over time (they have a burrito on the menu now?), but they are typically known for their burgers and fries. Their fries are so good and they always come in a large portion. I can never get enough! I ordered the big wave and the kid's burger for my son. For your burger you have a choice of bun (wheat or white) or you can do it lettuce wrapped. I thought the kids menu had a lot of great options for littles. My son really liked his side of pineapple! However his burger was SO salty. It was saltier than my big wave burger was, so not sure if this was a fluke or the kids burgers are just saltier. Didn't love it. I enjoyed my big wave. It's exactly what you would expect and the veggies on it tasted crisp and fresh. Service was great too! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Overall the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I come here more for the nostalgia of it but I do crave their fries often!“
“We had a blast! Sherman Oaks-EncinoChamber of Commerce hosted a networking mixer event here. The owner presented us with some history and lite bites. I will definitely return to support and have a great time. This was our second time going on Tuesday’s Open Mic Night! The artists are talented. We’ve been highly pleased with the staff service, atmosphere, and characters. We are delighted to add The Barrel to our normal routine.“
“We are really impressed with this establishment. Very beautiful decor and comfortable chairs and booths. But the food is just divine. This time we started with the ceviche, which comes with scallops and shrimp but we went for just all shrimp, and it was very very good. On a lovely bed of avocado onion mash. Then he had the braised Carnitas and said that they were excellent. I had the chicken enchiladas with extra beans and all the food here every time we've eaten is very flavorful and satisfying. Very decent wine selection as well. It was busier than usual, which was very nice to see. We hope to come here and watch some of the Thursday night football games on prime but they don't have prime so hopefully next year they will incorporate that. Will be back!“
“This place was awesome. I was looking for a place to have a drink and found Woodman right off Ventura. The bartender Chad was great. He pretty much worked the entire restaurant and did a fantastic job keeping up with the service and being engaged with the customers. It's a sports bar so they had on the games. I didn't really have anything to eat but the chips and salsa. Being a salsa person it was pretty goods. I'll definitely be back.“
“My sister and I did some scouting for the perfect place to have an after party after my wedding wanted to give this place a try. We stopped for brunch and the food was great. We quickly decided this was a top choice. Benedict was the manager we spoke to and he was so personable and happy to help us work something out. Since it was far in advance, we were able to book the date of my wedding for 70 people. He toured us around the place with mimosas and was incredibly attentive and kind, genuinely excited to host a wedding after party. On our night, I entered the bar in my wedding gown and everyone in the building clapped and cheered (such a sweet moment from other guests)! Benedict was there and he checked on us the entire night and made sure we always had shots in hand to celebrate. We had a server who was also so on top of it, and I feel bad I can't remember her name. The whole night was incredibly fun and so well put together. I can't thank the team at On The Thirty enough for such a seamless and unforgettable night on such a special day!“
“I had so much fun watching the 49ers here on Sunday. Such great vibes and I am definitely looking forward to watching the Super Bowl at the oaks. Solid group of San Francisco fans and the game is on a lot of TVs so you can see it all from any seat. Hannah the bartender is rad!“
