“We stopped in here on the way back from a hike and were pleasantly surprised by this place. The scones are so good, pretty much perfect in texture! We had a latte and an Americano, both decaf and they were good. Service was fast and polite. We will return.”

“Our group enjoyed the xquiche Lorraine, California omelet, and a basic egg, bacon, and bread combo. I think the quiche was the best of the entrees. There was lots of flavor, the crust was flaky, and the dressing on the side of greens was very good. It was a generous size, too.My mocha was nice and got and served promptly. We arrived at about 9:30 and beat the rush of about 7 groups that came in right after us. The restaurant was busy on Thursday!”

“We had a group of 10 women for a friend's birthday and we all loved RYLA! The food was excellent. We ordered the milk bread, truffle rice, fried chicken, the meat pasta dish, ceasar salad, lobstah roll, spicy tuna roll, farmers market roll and cauliflower. All of it was so delicious! Cocktails were great and strong too! Can't wait to take my husband back for a date night!”

“Plus:Good food and great service Minus: horrible acoustics ! Literally the loudest restaurant I've been to. Forget having a normal conversation ? Which brings me to my next minus, the rushed service! We had 5 entrees and drinks served to us in under an hour! There was no time between courses and we felt very rushed. But with the noise level being so bad, I guess that's a blessing? Nice family owned establishment tho.”

“The new Spring Menu at FWD is keeping it fresh and forward. Some new bold flavors like the seabass and seared scallops are some exciting new additions. FWD has continued to be consistent with great customer service and delicious food. Our favorites are still the basics: raw oysters and their signature scallops and the crab cake. Katie Clark, assistant general manager gave us a personal opportunity, asking us for some honest feedback. It's that experience which continues to make FWD a place special.”

“This place is lights out delicious. The beef plate was cooked perfectly and the falafel wrap was amazing with the sauce. The falafel was nicely tender and juicy. The garlic and hot sauce were fantastic as well.Pro tip: Get one of the plates, mix in the hot sauce and a little bit of the garlic sauce into the protein (I went with the beef) and rice. Then mix in the hummus. Now you’ve got a dish that will rival the best halal cart in NYC.Also the pita bread that had falafel literally baked into it?Are you kidding me?Amazing.Great staff, great food. Will be back.”

“Excellent, authentic, VERY Japanese sushi. No firecracker shrimp rolls. If you want that kinda thing, go back to Hermosa.”

“Unfortunately they scaled down the fish offering and now have only 4-5 options (spicy ahi, sweet ahi, salmon and shrimp if I recall correctly) but everything is super fresh, handed with a big smile and you have an outdoor area to sit in the sun. Love the place. I would stick to the poke. Tried the meat tacos and the chips with smoked white fish and wasn't blown away.”
“I’ve been to Japan four times in the last five years. I have friends who live in Kyoto and they take me to their favorite sushi spots. They also tell me where to go in Tokyo, where they spend a lot of their time.I never had sushi as good in Japan as I did last night in Gardena. I’m not kidding. The chef is very dedicated. He considers the entire experience from start to finish. So do a lot of other chefs at great Omakase spots in LA.What is different about Sonagi is that the chef is very into choosing his seafood based on the season. I’m not going to spend time going across each dish but you’re not going to get the typical fish here. I’m pretty sure that if the chef thinks some seafood item is seasonally better than Otoro, that’s what’s gonna get served.I’ve never had rice like the rice served in that small bowl. Crispy and perfect. The soup and the desserts were also incredible. They have two seatings, which I’ve seen in a few other places. Everyone at the sushi bar is served each dish at pretty much exactly the same time. This lends itself to meeting people at the bar. It’s almost like a get together at the chef’s home. One other nice touch: Before leaving, guests are presented with a fine stationary printout of each dish and its sourcing.Special place!”

“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!! One I was able to schedule a large party of fifteen 3 days prior, where I wasn’t able to elewhere. Others restaurants required someone to call me back, a contract etc. Sasual took my large party not once but twice that week. You really kept me out of a bind where I was hosting a group of executives from Boston and New York. The service and food was out of this world. I moved to California 6 years ago and this was hands down THE BEST Mexican food I’ve eaten since I’ve lived here. Our servers were so accommodating and fast, I don’t know how you did it with such a large party. It was so good we came back a second night the same week. You are now my favorite so I will be back with the wife and I will recommend to every person who asked me. I get a lot of people who ask, where should they go to eat and this will be my #1 recommendation. Thank you Sausal.”

“You've got to try Jus' Poke! It's truly the best poke in town, packed with amazing quality and flavor. When I mentioned my long drive home, the staff went the extra mile by packing my poke in separate bags of ice to ensure it stayed fresh and safe. Jus' Poke will always my got-to spot because it never fails to impress!”

“Angela is an amazing host. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is warm and full of life and the food is amazing. Probably the best Thai you can find anywhere within 50 miles! The homemade cilantro hot sauce should be bottled and sold. I would drink that by itself.Parking: Big lot nearby.”

“It’s a worthy dive bar with a frigging delicious hamburger. We went for the atmosphere having walked by on our vacation to Manhattan Beach and had to go back. If you love an authentic old bar and are happy with a great cheeseburger and chips and can overlook a sticky table and a bit scary bathroom situation, this is your spot. A breath of fresh air from our usual bougie eating in South Bay. Did I mention the burger was delicious??”

“Good food. We ordered the chicken Cesar salad, pepperoni pizza and truffle pizza. The first two were very delicious. The brie-truffle pizza was simply alright. But lets talk about that homemade giant cinnamon roll though …. I’d drive all the way there to satisfy that craving any day!The cappuccino was good too. First time in LA I found a decent capp, I usually order cappuccinos and end up with lattés !The location is perfect, overlooking the water. Would absolutely recommend.”

“The food was good! The Service Greeter with a large tattoo across her chest may need to improve her greeting skills. I found her to be unpleasant. We were very pleased with our host. The ambience provides the perfect setting for an intimate celebration. Grand atmosphere...”

“Love this place! I think it's the best and the only one of its kind. The ingredients are sooo fresh. It's an all you can eat, but no doggy bags allowed. You can order takeout. The staff is friendly. It's a pretty casual restaurant.”

“Great food, excellent service, but too nosy. Loud music on top of background noise made it impossible to have a conversation without yelling. Not conducive to an actual chat or meaningful discussion.”

“Been stopping by Tommy & Atticus since they opened in July. The country, round sour dough is our family favorite. We've tried morning sun citrus pastry (my fav), jalapeno/cheddar sour dough bread, lunch pizza & sandwiches. Great place, great customer service.”

“An upscale, but diverse menu with many choices at varying price points, is why this is a go-to restaurant for us when we visit Hermosa Beach. They can accommodate a large group of family outside for a raucous dinner and simultaneously be the intimate candlelight dinner my wife and I enjoyed on our recent visit. Salads are great and many entree choices. I loved the Sicilian rigatoni and my wife, who has a variety of good allergies, was treated to a very flavorful and complex non-dairy linguini. We enjoyed some sparkling wine along with our salads and pasta dinner. Dago, our server was helpful and just the right level of attentive. Plus, he surprised us with a comped dessert when we pled room for not another bite. We could have shared a pasta course, and probably will next time because there are enticing appetizers and dessert options.”

“Had a great time. We had 5pm reservations and were seated promptly by a friendly hostess so the night was off to a good start. Cocktails were great (thanks Edgar) and our server was so friendly and cheery (so sorry I've forgotten her name). We ordered tons of food, scallops and calamari to start were really good. In fact, the scallops were EXCELLENT! All three in my party had the 16oz rib eye... soooooo good! We finished off with the tiramisu and creme brulee and both were delicious! After dinner we moved over to the bar side and had a couple more drinks before heading home FAT AND HAPPY!”

“Came for a business lunch for the first time. Was very impressed with the quality of food and the value. I had the steak and the side side of broccoli and cauliflower. Steak was good but the sides were a bit disappointing. I had expected a bit of a kick from the harrisa lime cauliflower but found it to be mostly bland.”
