Get an ice cream and walk the pier. Great selection of ice cream. Waffle cone was a little burnt. Price is high.
If you're walking around Fisherman's Wharf and craving ice cream, Lappert's is a great stop. The flavors were delicious, the portions were generous, and it was the perfect treat while exploring the waterfront.
That said, after visiting both locations, I'd strongly recommend taking the ferry to Sausalito if you have the time. The Sausalito location has a more relaxed, charming atmosphere, and enjoying your ice cream while strolling along the waterfront makes the whole experience...read full review

Lappert's Ice Cream at PIER 39 is a popular spot known for its location and variety of flavors. The shop features a clean and bright atmosphere with adorable signage and friendly staff. Visitors often enjoy the incredible view of the marina while indulging in ice cream. The menu includes classic options like ice cream and sherbet, with the sherbet described as bright and tangy, and the ice cream as delicious. Notable flavors include chocolate chip cookie dough, which has large chunks of dough, and chocolate peanut butter, which many find to be very tasty. The root beer float is also appreciated, especially on warm days.
However, the prices are considered high, with some reviews mentioning that a single scoop can cost around $9.50 or even $15 for two cones. The high cost is attributed to the location within the city and the tourist area. While the ice cream is generally good, some reviewers found it to be average or similar to other ice cream shops like Baskin Robbins. There are occasional concerns about human error, such as finding hair in the ice cream, which affects the overall experience.
Despite the price, the quick service and the lively atmosphere make it a popular choice for visitors. Overall, Lappert's offers enjoyable ice cream with stunning views, but its premium prices and mixed reviews about flavor quality and service suggest it’s more about the location than a unique ice cream experience.
