“Swung by on my way home to grab something for lunch. I got one of the best falafel sandwiches I've ever had. Delicious, nice and sour, yet a good savoury flavour, I would happily get this again. They appear to be doing a lot of delivery/take out business so service is going to be dependent on that, but it wasn't unreasonable. My only small complaint is the size of the serving wasn't what I was expecting. It was delicious but could have been a tad bigger to carry over as a full lunch.“
“I got the chicken stew to go. Chicken meat was falling off the bones. He called it a soup. There were lots of veggies, two pieces of chicken, one was a whole thigh. It was really good. Not too salty. They gave me two hugh pita bread. Veggies were zuchini and potatoes. $17. Sketchy neighborhood. I would go only day time. Yes, it is near police station but police are inside, not outside.“
“Everything was well worth its price! Every plate had an exceptionally generous serving of meat, and everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The hummus and olive oil were excellent, pitas were nicely firm, and falafel had a crunchy outside. I wish there were more vegetables to balance out the meat and grains, but otherwise everything was perfect!Vegetarian options: This restaurant's specialties are meat, but there are multiple vegetarian options and I bet they all taste great.Wheelchair accessibility: Nicely spaced tables that waiters can move as you need, and no ramps or stairs. Door is not powered.“
“We were a group of 10+, and that was our bad. The lanes between tables are narrow and not suited for a rowdy crowd meeting for a global reunion.Parking is nuts. But this is the mission. And the signage is subtle so you may miss it.They have decent cocktails and cocktails, with flavors from the Levant, with cardamom and other warming spices. Unique in some ways, familiar in others. We ordered half the menu, from the veggie mezze platter to ful, chicken skewers to shrimp skewers. While most of the group enjoyed the food, the experience is on the understated side. The service was polite, but be prepared to ask for pita repeatedly. Don’t expect attention to detail where someone will fill your cup without asking or even ensure everyone has silverware. To be fair, they aren’t geared for large groups. We should’ve done our research. It’s a decent place for date night or a small intimate gathering of up to 4.I am torn about the food. If I didn’t have a comparison with the excellent almost-Michelin star Beit Rima, I would’ve thought this was excellent. However portions are on the smaller side and the flavor is on the milder/blander side. It’s that one thing that needs to be amped up. Some lemon on the shrimp skewer, some spice on the chicken, the labneh was a little too sour. We enjoyed the muhamara, and the falafel wasn’t too shabby. The fattoush salad was fresh but lacked oomph. We had heard good things about the two Palestinian cheese, however be warned they can be very salty, yet somehow delicious. Some folks liked the veggie musakhan, a wrap that’s stuffed with cooked mushrooms, and others enjoyed their freekeh and red lentil soups. While the desserts were average, kannafeh and qatayef, the standout was halwa with ice cream.Overall this was a mixed experience. Mostly our fault for having a large group that overwhelmed the kitchen and staff, but most of the blame goes to Beit Rima for giving us high expectations from our middle eastern food.“
“What a vibe. This classic spot has been here since the 70s serving up top notch Mediterranean food with a focus on Armenian. The food is fresh, exciting, local and flavorful.Have classic Mediterranean food or try some less popular, under the radar Mediterranean dishes.Definitely worth giving it a try.The salmon kebab is SO GOOD.“
“If I were local, I'd eat here every night! We were the first to walk in on a Friday night and I was worried maybe the reviews were hype... Then the food arrived.Wow!I can't recommend this place highly enough. And if you've never eaten lamb, this is the place to have that be and incredible experience. ???✅️“
“After all the holiday food we needed something lighter, and this hit the spot! Way more than the office lunch space it looks like.We got the vegetarian combo plate and were blown away by the amazing dips and tabbouleh. Sometimes tabbouleh can feel flat (and too full of parsley), but this one felt fresh and well balanced. The bread was soft and delicious.Wish we got a photo, the presentation was pretty too.“
“I had their lamb roganjosh, aloo Gobi, and chicken chettinand. People might say Pakwan is the place to go for good Indian food in the city, but I was thoroughly impressed with what I ate at Keeva. This is not watered down gringofied Indian food. Absolutely loved the lamb roganjosh, the cauliflower and potatoes were very well spiced, and while I personally didn't like the chettinand, I understand the flavor profile and what that dish is. You're missing out on really delicious Indian food if you're not eating here.“
“Falafel and shawarma shop located in the heart of the Mission. Although seating is limited, we've always seemed to luck out on a seat. They offer free falafel as you order, which is kind of them. My go-to order is the kefta plate. The beef is super tender and their hummus is SO good“
“Very friendly, neighborhood place. Very good food and not too expensive. I enjoyed the feta cheese cigar appetizer and shrimp kabobs. My husband really liked the beef stroganoff although it comes with rice instead of noodles. No reservations so go early.“
“Excellent food and service. Very tasty, filling and clean. A random DoorDasher took my order and the staff was super helpful getting the order right. Fantastic service! The beef and lamb plate was delicious and the chicken tacos were wonderful.“
“These guys are awesome. When we called to let them know there was a mistake on our order, they walked a new order to our apartment even tho we weren’t originally a delivery order. They care a lot about their customers and the food is solid, reasonable, and healthy. I’ll be back in large part bc of their awesome attitudes.“
“After so-so meals at Rich Table and Flour + Water, it was nice to have some real deal delicious food that wasn’t trying to hard. Just simple but delicious food. Definitely get the hummus w shawarma (smothered with their hot sauce) and a mint tea.“
“We had heard a lot about this place from the folks across the street so we knew we had to try it. We had a group of 4, with two dogs and while it was very packed, they were awesome about getting a table outside for us.We were super hungry and ordered so many things, and everything was SO GOOD. We ordered the Lebna, the Ful, the Baked Halloumi, the hummus, the batata harra, a few falafel the shish tawook plate and pitas.Everything was SO flavorful, so unique and just delicious. The Halloumi and the Lebna were the absolute stars but the Pita is soooooo soft too!Do yourself a favor and make a stop here because you will not be dissapointed.“
“First time there, and the guy at the register was polite and helpful, and gave me a bottle of water without charging me. The food, two burgers and two fries, took about 15 minutes, and they added lettuce to my burger when I requested none, and the patty itself, wasn't anything special, looked about a 5 ounce patty, with the bun being too large for the patty. The fries, they were lightly salted, and had been frozen, which is normal for most places. The lobby area had a couple of tables and stools, definitely had the Cafe feel to it, but it also felt a little dirty. All in all, for the price, not worth it, would return if in the area, and the prices were a little lower. I may recommend. 7.5/10.“
“We had the mezze platter, the vegetable crudite and the chicken shish tawook. Definitely needed all the veggies to enjoy everything on the mezze plate as it was generous in size. Vegetables were very fresh and crispy. Falafel was a bit dry and dense. Chicken was very tender.“
“I've come here many times over the 17 years I've lived in SF, and the food is always delicious. This review is especially for their dessert, a dessert I never tried before, called the muhalabiye. It is like a delicious rose flavored pudding, with fresh whipped cream. Decadent and delicious. The coffee I had paired perfectly with this treat. La Mediterranee has always been lovely and has an adorable ambiance. I am so happy it is still around!“
“Had a late lunch here before a visit to SF Moma. The small restaurant was buzzing but we managed to find a table by the window. The Palestinian food served here is very fresh, creative and healthy. We got flatbread with various toppings (sort of like a pandini), a falafel salad, meze platter (labneh was outstanding), and knafeh (a cheese pastry) for dessert along with mint tea. Epic meal!“
“Taboun was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. I had the falafel bowl for lunch and it was excellent. Freshly made and super tasty.Family owned and run with super friendly service. I hope to be back next time I'm in San Francisco.“
“This is a fairly unique restaurant: behind the Chinatown gate, you climb up a steep staircase, and emerge into a tiny and narrow restaurant that feels like it used to be an apartment. The prices are fairly high and the portion sizes are so-so (give us more bread, rice, and fries at least!) but it’s a great comfort to find a friendly, homey space in the city, and that’s certified kosher. I generally order appetizers to save some money: you can do well with the hummus and falafel and skip the more expensive meat dishes. Do not expect to feel stuffed afterward but to feel reasonably satisfied.“
“Gosh, I absolutely LOVE Sajj. It is so quick, perfect when you're in a rush, but still want something yummy and healthy. Think mediterranean-style Chipotle. I love the chicken shawafel or pomegranate chicken bowl. Every single topping on there is a perfect fit. I usually get all the spreads and can't choose a favorite. You can't go wrong with the toppings, but I usually add the sumac cauliflower, onions, cucumbers, cherry peppers, arugula, and mint leaves, finished off with either the spicy tahini or cilantro mint chutney. I know some people love the lentil soup. The baklava is so flaky and nutty. Most of the locations I've been to are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is helpful and pack on the toppings on your bowl. I absolutely LOVE Sajj, I even have a loyalty/newsletter (which I almost never do). Definitely recommend.“
“A thank you shout out to Oasis Grill on Drumm Street. They catered our event which was held on Treasure Island a few days. I requested catered Veggie Mezza platter, Salmon platter and Chicken Shawarma (in quantity). The food was ready for pick up at the time specified and the lovely lady behind the counter helped me bring all of my goodies to my car. EVERYEONE loved the food. I would say the one thing I should have order more: Falafels. I did not get one, but next time! We catered for at least 30 people and we still had leftovers. Thank you Oasis Grill. We love the food and now we love the catering you provided for us!“
“WOWW..... omgggg !!! This is seriously the BEST GREEK FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD beats nick the Greek by far. I accidentally stumbled upon this place nestled in San Francisco and I'm so happy I stopped here. I'm really extremely picky anyone that knows me and have severe food allergies so a lot of times food is so disappointing to me but ... YOU HAVE TO COME HERE! You will not be disappointed“
“Chicken kabob - excellentThat lil green chutney on the side - heavenSalad - better than lettuceThe service was a little slow but they were incredibly friendly and gave us a dessert on the house for the wait which was really nice. Will definitely be back“
“Sababa at SOMA near Yank Sing and Salesforce Tower is a lunch oasis in downtown SF. Their food is always fresh and delicious with fast service. Lovely, modern, and peaceful ambiance too. They are mainly open for lunch. I love their Falafel, quinoa, and hummus dish.“
“EXCELLENT food!!! I was craving a kebab and stumbled onto this place. I got the sampler with a chicken and lamb kebab. I was floored by the baba ghanouj and falafel. Wonderful flavor and perfect crunch in the falafel. I think I’ve found my new favorite restaurant!!“
“Okay, I adore this place! They’ve amazing food! I love that this place is like chipotle/subway, but for mediterranean food! I ordered the build your own bowl with falafel. Every ingredient added to the bowl was fresh and delicious. I loved the lentil soup as well. Their fries were good too.My spouse liked his falafel-chicken shawarma bowl.Their food was so good that I over-ate. I over-ate so much that I’d a tummy ache for a while after! ?“
“This is such a fantastic restaurant! We are only visiting the area, but this would 100% be a go to for me if I lived in San Fran. We ordered the kale and couscous salad as well as the lamb shish kebab plate. The dressing on the salad was incredible and the portion was hearty enough to leave you satisfied. The lamb kebabs were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The environment was a laid back while still being a great date night spot. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant and highly recommend checking it out!“
“The kabob is delicious, but the rice could be better…. The restaurant was cold, and there was no air conditioner. There is a shared restroom with another restaurant, which is not clean enough.Parking: You should find parking on the street. On my visit, it was not difficult to find.“
“Not open for the past couple weekends and weeks in between - everyone that populates 11th street miss our guy so much!! He is a pillar of stability that supports the action taking place on the “Club Corridor”.We’re all hoping he returns soon and in good health.Joe is a treasure on 11th. Every day I look to see if he’s opened back up - it’s been a rare day to see this place not taking business. Truly, you never know watcha got til it’s gone ?We all hope to see you soon, and are sending the best wishes and loves and positive vibes. ??“
“Good portionsI had finished watching the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade which is unique since it’s at night and was heading back to the Orange Village hostel and saw this place open. The prices are pretty reasonable for the area I ordered a platter which contained a mixture of chicken and beef along with lettuce, tomatoes, and rice. There wasn’t much seating available so one can take a quick look to decide if you want takeout. The menu is pretty simple you also had the choice of ordering a gyro“
“This is the best hummus I've had on this side of the ocean. Not only was the hummus delicious, but all the trimmings as well: pita, pickles, fries, mint tea, and more. The physical restaurant is also a lovely and welcoming space. Should be 5 stars, except for serving meat.“
