They go above and beyond with service and kindness especially Ruta. She always has a smile on her face which I am sure isn't always easy at 7:30am. Their portions are twice as large as many of their competitors for the same price and infinitely more delicious without all the grease. A must try in the western and southwestern suburbs.“

“We had a party in private room , over all they did good job . The food was excellent. I have few complaintswe were told that we would have 2 dedicated servers for our entire event and that did not appear to be the case .The restaurant it was very busy , understandable but were in a private party that requires extra care .1) At times our guests didn’t have water ,2) We were supposed have 5 courses however, the pasta and main courses got combined at the same time so we had too many serving plates on the dining tables.3) We paid for a premium drink package plus additional dollars for additional premium wine and other drinks and the servers did not check with the guests on a regular basis to see if they wanted something else.4)We expected that we would have two servers there at all times to assist as needed. To us it seemed that we had one person with others in and out of the room at different times. It seemed that staff was pulled away to help out elsewhere in the restaurant.This was a good experience but with a few small tweaks and better teamwork the private dining experience could be fantastic.“

“There is something for everyone at The Open Door. They are kid and animal friendly. They do not have a huge food menu (cheese plates and snacks) but you can bring in your own food and have a drink (or two?) from their place. They’ve got spirits that make wonderful cocktails, tasty craft beer/ciders/sours/stouts on tap, an awesome variety of bourbons, a huge selection of wines, slushies, barrel poured Manhattan, Old Fashioned and Tequila old fashioned. They have Mocktails, pop, juice, sparkling waters and non alcoholic beers/wines and slushies for the NA drinkers. Stay and have a drink or go in and buy your favorite wine, sprit or beer to go. The cool thing about the open door is that you don’t have to buy a full 4 pack. You can mix and match, you can buy the beers/sours/ciders/stouts etc by the can/bottle. To name a few breweries product they sell…they’ve got Goldfinger, Hop Butcher, Phase Three, Energy City, Karetas, Pipeworks, Bourbon County, Riggs, Manic and more. They have inside and outside seating and they have live music. Check out their Facebook page or Instagram. They post new product when they get it in and keep you posted on events ie; live music, tastings, festivals etc. The staff is happy to help you if you have any questions. It’s a great place to visit. “we had tofu pad thai and tofu green curry noodles and they were both amazing. i love thai food and have been to at least 10 diff thai places in different states too, but this is hands down in my top three favorites. the tofu in my pad thai was cooked to perfection, crispy but not too much and the portions were great. we loved the thai tea from here too, their style was more creamy than i’ve had at other places (or how i make it myself) but it was tasty and makes me want to make it like that at home :) great service too everyone was nice and it was great thank you“

“Food was great as usual! We enjoy coming here when we are in town and I am grateful they have vegan options for my husband. I will say the service this time was pretty poor. We were a party of 3 and one in my group party had mobility issues and 1 had some hearing challenges. The hostess tried to sit us at a table at the very end of the restaurant. As we walked to the table we noticed a 4 top by the window that was open. My friend inquired about going there and the hostess was hesitant saying it was adaptable to a 5 top so didn't want to sit us there. She asked the front and said no so off to the back we went. Our serve was very rude for no reason and we all felt very awkward not to mention they sat a 3 top in the table we asked for. Disappointing“

“These days I'm not sure a bakery can really deliver everything one'd hope for in the past. Lezza has a great variety of bakery products, and you'll find some of them to be very reasonably priced. I love the lemon knot cookies and the Italian ice, and you'll find traditional cookies here too as well as danishes and donuts. There are very few independently owned places anymore with variety and low-cost options for treats and coffee, but this is one of them!“

After experiencing the light displays, we stopped for a meal.So many vegan and vegetarian choices on the menu. Other museums and venues could take a lesson from this! We ordered and enjoyed the Korean Stirfry. It was a little salty for me, but ample portions and reasonable prices. Served piping hot. Hot cider was delicious.Lots of seating in the clean dining area, including seats by the expansive windows overlooking the lights for the Illumination finale. That was a treat and a fun way to wrap up the evening.Our only issues were customer service focused. We had to ask for napkins and were given just two for meals that have a fair amount of juice. Also, we paid for my husband to have roasted vegetables added to his entree, but it looked just like mine in portion size. When I asked the server, he said he didn't know. No offer to check or to make it right. We were tired, so didn't press the point. But they will lose customers if this is a pattern.Note: As with most museums and cultural centers, the food venues are run by a different company, not by the Arboretum.
