“Had an amazing couple’s getaway to this cozy lodge. Very rustic feel and super homey. Great place to unplug and escape reality for a bit! Highlights included the cozy common area in the main lodge with board games and our two meals (breakfast and dinner included with the reservation) at the restaurant. We also went on a nice ~2 hour hike right from the lodge to a beautiful waterfall. A fantastic deal and we’ll be coming back!“

“We always enjoy coming to this restaurant, for its historical atmosphere and delicious food. We were there over the weekend, and asked for a special table for our family who was there from out of town, and they had it waiting for us when we arrived. Thank you!“

“Among the finest restaurants in the northern - if not the country. Super-fresh ingredients transformed into mouthwatering delights. A warm welcome is always guaranteed, too! It’s not cheap but by the standards of today’s 5-star spots, highly reasonable. A must to visit if you’re in the Berkshires.Vegetarian options: They always have o e or two exquisite vegetarian options.Parking: Parking is right next to the restaurant. Being able to use the spaces in the lot owned by the bank next door means there is ample parking.“

“I absolutely love this unique find. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The service was Swift and the food was excellent. A quaint little spot it was comfortable, and I quite enjoyed the music. Overall a great experience we didn't have any libation just the food and some water and everything was great. I highly recommend them as a restaurant. I'm not sure about the bar part, but going on what my experience was, I would imagine that's pretty good, too.“

“We had the best experience today at this great restaurant! We met the owner named Cindy who couldn’t have been nicer! The food was absolutely delicious… the atmosphere was perfect (we ate outside) … we just loved it!!! We highly recommend this spot! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS!!“
“The quintessential New England getaway! Beautiful architecture, fresh food, and warm & cozy rooms. We snowshoed on the grounds and there are many hiking options nearby. Gedney Farm exceeded our expectations! We’d definitely return.“

“I’m hesitant to say how much I adore this place, the staff and, of course, the food. The reason for my reluctance is fear it will become a hot spot, thus ruining the best kept Berkshire secret. Relocation to the Berks when Covid hit in 2020, led me to Southfield when I googled restaurants in the area. I put it on my “must go” list. From the moment I entered, I knew it would be a favorite. Fantastic sandwiches such as The Favorite which is composed of tomato, mozzarella and basil panini actually became my favorite; until I ordered a BLT. Making my way through the menu, (not in the same day!!!) a Reuben called me by name. Delicious. Hit the spot. I could not finish the sandwich. Every item is fresh fresh fresh! Tuna melt? Oh yes! Fantastic. Again, could not finish it. Egg salad is divine. Abby prepared it right there. Every sandwich is above any preconceived expectation, whether or not you see yourself a food snob. (I’m definitely one)!! The in house bakery, which also bakes for the In on the Green, turns out the very best. I’ve had great Linzer cookies in my life. Theirs are rivaled by no one, even Paris! Blueberry muffins, Grandma’s chocolate cake will have you looking for her in the kitchen. Brunch should be experienced by anyone who enjoys a relaxing weekend with family and a fantastic breakfast. French toast is noteworthy as they use house made challah. Try it. Eggs, bacon, sausage, all the breakfast items we love are prepared to perfection. Muffins, scones, cinnamon buns, pound cakes, all baked in the kitchen. The list of everything I’ve tried and loved is too lengthy for me to explain how wonderful everything is. You must try them yourself. Now the staff. Wonderful group who are happy and welcoming. They know their jobs and remain personable even on the busy, oh so popular weekends. Hard working, yet they manage to keep the restaurant clean. Alex who manages Southfield is very attentive and knows his job well. This is one well oiled machine. I think it’s rare when employees highly respect their employers and the employer highly respects them. It’s a obvious this is the case at Southfield. They enjoy going to work! Alex is the son of the owners of Inn on the Green up the road, which is another must go! Sadly, I had to vacate the Berkshires. I am presently an hour and forty minutes away yet I make a point to go back frequently. Yes. It’s THAT good! PS: kid friendly!“

“From the customer experience, the warm ambiance, the great beer/wine/specialty cocktails and food quality, this place is a no-brainer! While I will say that $15.95 for a burger with no cheese is exorbitant and $2.00 to add Every extra is Very pricy, especially Cheese, the quality is beyond exceptional. From the bun, to the burger, sautéed onions and mushrooms and cheddar cheese, it was well worth it. Note - the onions and mushrooms were in the $2.00 each list, but I wasn't charged. They've recently become The Frog Restaurant, so maybe they'll look at these reviews and reconsider pricing over time. With most visits, I might consider removing a Star for that, however, this place deserves an Exception. If you're in their area, you deserve to sit down to a fantastic meal; you'll be happy you did; they have something for everyone. I made one mistake; they make their own desserts and the special was Lemon Cheesecake...and I forgot to order it...Argh! Congratulations to the new owners; you have something special there. P.S. - The owner stopped by and shook my hand and introduced himself and asked if he could have me email him the picture of my burger and drink that I took, to him. I happily did and he emailed me back and thanked me for my visit and hoped to see me again. I will happily drive 130 miles round trip to their restaurant again!“
