Little Fox 2800 Shenandoah Ave, St. Louis American • $$$

“Great date spot patio - wonderful outdoor atmosphere. Super attentive waitstaff (great attention, recommendations, and personality). Cool cocktails and some really good beers available. The food was outstanding! The menu was basically laid out in order of smallest to biggest plates; the snacks were very much snack-sized, the small plates were still plenty enough to share, and the entrees were generous. Very creative and fun cuisine. The white anchovies that we requested on the side of our (outstandingly fresh and summery) tomato salad were the absolute best anchovies I have ever had - if you like anchovies and they have "white anchovies" on the menu, order! (Our waitress was nice enough to check in the restaurant pantry to find out the brand for me, which was very appreciated.) Though we were stuffed, we had dessert and the chocolate cake we ordered was decadent and a wonderful end to a fun and romantic meal. Totally recommend Little Fox, especially for a spontaneous date night out, whether you want to graze and sip cocktails or get a full dinner.”

Sado

Sado 5201 Shaw Ave, St. Louis Japanese • $$$$

“Edit..we have been back since my review. The rude guy at the door is gone. Everyone is friendly and the food is beyond amazing!!Make sure if you want to try this place out, you make reservations. My friend and I decided last minute to try the restaurant out because I had read about it on line. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a wait. I asked about seating at the bar because most places it is open seating. Let me tell you the host was so condescending that it was uncomfortable. There is no waiting area and he acted alarmed that I was going to approach the bar to get a glass of wine. He then informed us it was a 2 hour wait. After driving around forever trying to find a place to park and having much anticipation of trying Sado we just left. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but I realize this place is new and hope they work on their customer service. I am sure the food will be amazing”

“Our server Josh (yes, coincidence) nailed it. Attentive but not overbearing. The cocktails were a hit too, and I'd recommend the Apple Bottom Jeans and the Violet Mojito. My wife and I stuck to small plates as we weren't in the mood for large plates. The lobster roll was out of this world, and while it looks small, they manage to pack so much delectable lobster into it. The pork belly was also incredible though it was light on the amount of pork belly in it. The spam fried rice was really good. The chili flakes elevate the entire plate, but if you don't like spicy food, I might suggest you get something else. Finally, the cheddar biscuits...they weren't very good. They were a bit tough, not fluffy, and were portioned in a way that made them awkward to eat (too tall). I would not recommend the biscuits. But overall, great experience, 4.5/5.”

“Visited yesterday and omg the food was delicious. I had the brisket which the cook said is new to the menu. It wasn’t dry at all. It was tender and i like they put the sauce on the side instead of drench the meat with it. My sister had the salmon croquettes and they were good too. I’ll be back but remember to make reservations for brunch or u might not be able to try it due to the crowd. The staff were nice and the place was clean. “What an absolute gem of an ice cream spot. Stopped here on a trip to St.Louis and was extremely impressed.Their signature concrete is a frozen custard with a bunch of mix-ins. I got mine with coconut, mocha, and praline. An unusual combination that tasted amazing. My cousin tried the mint mixed with Oreo and loved it. Terror Tacos 3191 S Grand Blvd, St. Louis Vegan • $

“Terror Tacos has been in my radar for a while and we finally went last night! I didn't know it was as small as it is. There were four of us and when we got there we ended up having to sit at the high top communal table because that's all that was available. I don't like high top tables, but it was better than nothing. You can order at the counter or via QR at your table. My husband ordered our food and said the process was annoying, as did our friends. It's dark in there! People were using their phone flashlights to read the menu. And the music was loud so everyone was talking over it and it was a lot. After we ordered our food, a four top table opened up and we moved there. The cocktails came out after a little while. The food took much longer - maybe about an hour. There were people coming in for carry out orders. So even when it didn't seem there were many people in there after a while, they still had to go orders sprinkled in there. The food menu had peppers next to the menu items. The bigger the piece of pepper, the spicier. Another diner explained that to us. The tacos are a decent size. Two were plenty for me. If I were really hungry, I would maybe be able to eat two and a half. The tacos and the drinks were really good! I'd definitely go back!”

“I've lived in Saint Louis for about a year and a half and am moving this week. I've been to iNDO 3 times since moving here. It is probably my favorite restaurant of all time. I came as a final goodbye tonight and it was so bittersweet! I can't believe this place isn't rated higher on Google. Absurd. The food has layers of flavor, is interesting, fresh, and always so well done. Dishes are clearly so well thought out, with visual, textural, and flavorful elements that just scratch an itch in your brain. The quality of the sashimi is superior. I sometimes forget we're in Saint Louis because man, that is some good fish. The service also never misses, with knowledgable staff and perfect coursing of dishes. Thank you to everyone working there for giving me such fond memories!!”

“MUST VISIT IN STL! Coming from NYC, this is hands down one of the best spots I’ve been to lately from the drinks, food, service, and all around vibes. They put an incredible amount of detail into everything and it shows. The craft cocktails are innovative, yet approachable, and extremely well-balanced. They also carry a unique variety of spirits on the menu that you can’t find anywhere else. One drink I especially loved and recommend is the Budgy Smuggler made with their housemade clarified milk. You can also order off the entire Yellowbelly food menu (sister restaurant next door) and every dish we tried was amazing. Get the raw and hot fried oysters, beef fat fries, lump crab fritters, elote taquitos, brussels, charred carrots, pork belly, green curry salmon, and grilled hangar steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were so unique. This should be a must stop if you’re in STL and also a great event space. I can’t wait to go back!”

Good cocktails too!WAIT TIME: We had a dinner reservation for a larger party for 7:30 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately.FOOD: I ordered the classic burger and the guava lamp drink. The burger was very tasty and the fries are delicious! Would recommend. I heard from others in my party that the chicken sandwich was very tasty as well. The guava lamp drink was quite interesting looking, and it had decent taste. It was somewhat unique so only get if you’re ready to try some new flavor combos. It was very strong too.SERVICE: QR code menu was easy to access, and our server was attentive, often asking if we needed drink refills.AMBIANCE: The decor and layout works well, it’s a more modern look with lots of pretty lights and a bar. A great spot to come with a group of friends!PRICE: Dishes were roughly between $15-25, and drinks around $15. Pretty comparable prices to similar restaurants.”

“Wow! This place was soo cool. I found it via Google search for a good Cuban sandwich. I realized that I came here as a child when it was just a bar. The atmosphere is soo cool inside. The food is the best part though. The Cuban honestly did not impress me visually, but when I took a bite... oh my! The pork butt was soo good. My mom had the famous Picadilly fish. She wanted to try the Mayfair salad, but didn't want the whole salad so they made her a side salad with Mayfair dressing. They make this dressing in house and its amazing. I had a cup of Gumbo with my sandwich and it was soo good. I forgot to get a picture of it, but I have to believe it was homemade. I will definitely come back. You should come try it too.”

Located downtown, the outside isn't much to look at, but as soon as you enter, you're greeted with the modern and stylish yellow and gray decor. Counter Seating and a few Tables on the perimeter shape the room. Staff is friendly and you can tell they put so much into their Service. For this restaurant, you reserve your seat online ahead of time and pre-pay the meal. My first visit was for Brunch on 9/24, the 10a Seating. 4 courses, starting with Shrimp n Grits, then French Toast, then Asian Croissant, then Honey Cake. (See Photo of menu for details). Overall, amazing!! I added the cocktail pairing which was a Mimosa and a Coffee Martini, both excellent. My only point of feedback would be that the menu was Carb forward and really could have used an Egg or Veggie forward dish as Course 3 to break it up, but all of everything tasted amazing. The restroom, yep, it's a Vibe too and very Clean. I'm motivated to come for Dinner and will be back soon!”

Transported to the inside of someone's living room, it has a cozy feel that doesn't seem overly pretentious or boisterous. It feels like a quiet evening at home, amongst friendly acquaintances. The food was delicious and plated beautifully. However, the lighting made snapping a decent photo nearly impossible it was a lesson in accepting limitations and enjoying things in the present. “Excited to have a solid poké restaurant in downtown Maplewood now! I stopped in with a friend earlier this week and was happy to see this location has more seating available than the location on Vandeventer. The neon signs and decor definitely give it a modern vibe. The menus is limited to 10 options but you can get them in a Burrito, Bowl, Salad, or Nachos. I asked the server at the counter what the most popular pick was and she said "Tiger Style". So I ordered the regular size Tiger Style Bowl. She said it's called Tiger Styled because they drizzle both the OG Fire and Unagi sauce on top of the bowl. You have the option to modify your meal as they are building it which is nice if you want to add more protein, veggies, etc. She asked if I wanted jalapeños, I said "I'll pass" but ended up with them on my bowl anyway :/ not a big deal though, I just picked them off. Prices are to be expected- $15.95 for a regular Tiger Style or $18.95 for large. The regular was plenty for me though.”

I can’t imagine this will last for long, because the service is fabulous, and the food is delicious! We have really enjoyed the other restaurants by these guys- and Press does not disappoint! I loved the Lavender cocktail, Husb enjoyed the sweet take on the old fashioned. I also had the beet salad to start- but ate it too fast to get a photo! The smash pizzas have a delicate combination of flavors, are easy to eat and heat up the next day to continue the culinary enjoyment!”

I happened across this place looking for somewhere to grab a drink before a late dinner reservation, and figured we would give it a try. We were only there about 30 minutes and sat at the bar. The bartender was so nice and chit chatted with us while he made drinks. All the drinks looked fantastic and I will definitely be back for cocktails. “My first couple of visits were great! Food was good, service was good, etc. However, as of recently, going here feels like a disappointment. I took my sister to treat her to some boba, we got the order and not even 5 sips into the cup, AS we walked the small distance between the store and my parked car, it ran out and all that remained was ice. It is even more disappointing considering it was a children’s cup. The same happened with mine, and mine was a much larger cup. Quite literally, 75-80% of the cups were ice cubes. It feels like a waste of money when things like this occur and demotivates us from going here again, as it has happened multiple times now even with light ice requests.”

“So happy we finally tried Yemanja! Waitress informed us we picked the perfect weekend to come because it's the last weekend Yemanja will be open in its current form. According to her, the owners are closing the restaurant for approximately one month and reopening as a Brazilian bar and grill with a different menu. I'm sure some regulars won't be happy about the change but I'm excited to try the new version of the restaurant next month. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation (we did not) this caught us by surprise because the website doesn't mention reservations. It wasn't an issue and we were seated immediately. The restaurant decor is festive and a bit eclectic. We ordered the National Drink of Brazil and it was very strong but great. I loved it. The heart of palm empanadas for the appetizer were recommended by our waitress and I'm glad we ordered them. I don't think I've ever had an empanada, they were very good. The options for vegetarians are limited but the only entree I could eat was really good and filling; I couldn't finish it. Yucca fries, black beans with rice and greens. The greens were my favorite. Entrees came either soup or salad. We both chose the salad and it was a nice salad. The house bread was okay, it came the seasoned butter. My boyfriend ordered one of the seafood entrees with shrimp. He loved it. Cleaned his plate. We will return for the new version of Yemanja. Hopefully there will be more vegetarian options.”

The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. Prices were reasonable. When you dine, the food taste and quality are top priority, but when the food is phenomenal and the service and atmosphere are just as good, it makes the experience memorable. We ended up returning on our second night! Julie was our server and we really enjoyed her, too. She was helpful and interested in our satisfaction! We tried the Brussel sprouts, an heirloom salad with delicious bread. Our entrees were the butcher steak and the burger. The steak was wood fired and super tender! The burger was delicious. If you're looking for an authentic breakfast experience that transcends the overdone and over-processed tastes at major breakfast chains, then this is a place I wholeheartedly recommend. I loved the food and genuinely felt full throughout the day with what I was able to eat for under $20.”

The Pasta House Co. 6214 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis Italian • $

“Pasta House catered our wedding, and they did an amazing job!!! They made the whole day a breeze! The food was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers!!! My husband and I wanted ice cream for dessert. They placed the order with Ted Drewes, picked it up, and brought it to the venue. They even let my baker bring the cake to them the day of, and they handled it from there. The bar was awesome!! The drinks were delicious and ll the staff from serves to bartenders were so friendly! Our wedding was at the World's Fair Pavillion which has some stricted guidelines/rules which we were worried about. Pasta House took care of all of it and didn't let us worry once about it. They were a dream to work with and I would recommend them to everyone for a delicious and stress free wedding or event!!!”

“When snow shut down Saint Louis, Brasilia was open!! Chef Jorge graciously sat down with our party of 4 after a delicious, flavorful dinner: Appetizers: Coxinha (chicken croquette), Tostada de Camarao (shrimp sauteed in yucca sauce over toasted garlic bread) Split Entrees: Feijoada Dinner (black beans cooked with sirloin, bacon, sausage, served with toasted farofa yucca flour/sauteed collard greens/rice); Peixada (cod filet cooked in coconut milk, palm oil, herbs, also served with rice/vegetable). Dessert: shared Tres Leches cake slice Drinks: Espanola (red wine blended with ice/sweetened condensed milk), the famous Caipirinha, Xingu Brazil lager. Thanks to Chef Jorge, we learned a lot about Brazilian cuisine, traditional ingredients, and his country. The service from Ncenga was outstanding. The drinks were fantastic. “11/1/23 @345pm.The awesome lady that was working the line rolled my burrito so good! I did not have to readjust the burrito while eating it. The ingredients did not even budge a little bit. Expert mode, noms, thank you. Also on a side note, the automated phone service has a minimal list of commands, so if you are attempting to call for any reason other than struggling to order food (such as phoning in a quick compliment) forget about it. Chipotle may as well not post a phone number.”

“I typically get the halibut or the medallions. Two of my favorite dishes at twisted tree. Last night, the dish came out with a different potato (whole crispy potatoes), which are good but the dish for the last several years is served on top of whipped mashed potatoes. The whole dish tasted different, somewhat bland. I added the waitress if I was crazy or maybe I switched out the potatoes and she said the menu just changed a few days ago. She did bring a side of whipped mashed potatoes, which was very nice, still doesn't have the same blend when it's typically layered: whipped potatoes, spinach, medallions, sauce - they all complement each other. The gal with me had never had the medallions and ordered it - she wasn't as impressed with the potato's, some of them were so crispy you couldn't cut it. First time I've been disappointed with a dish. Maybe in the future if I order this dish I substitute the potatoes. I eat at this establishment several times a month. Will always highly recommend. Only this one time did a dish not wow me!! MEDALLIONS Two 4 oz. beef tenderloin medallions over smashed Yukon Gold potatoes, sautéed spinach & mushroom brandy sauce.”

Beers were great, and the customer service was awesome. They also have a huge patio in the back for big groups, and sitting when you want to eat on bbq weekends. One last caveat, the t-shirts are cool, simple designs with great colors.”

Honey Bee Tea - Oakville 5658a Telegraph Rd, St. Louis Bubble Tea • $$
