“Visiting from out of town and was pleasantly surprised. They recommend about 5-6 plates, we ordered 7, and they were right. 6 was just enough. Loved everything we ordered, but the pan con tomate can be skipped. Not that it was bad, but just wasn't very flavorful. That said if you order, get it with the cheese! We didn't have room for dessert, but had the dessert chefs station directly in view of our seats. Everything she made looked delicious, especially the chocolate dish (forgot the name). Waiter was knowledgeable and informative and service was fast. Highly recommend patronizing if you're visiting the city!“

“We have visited once for dinner and once for breakfast and I have a tough time putting down my utensils. Dinner with 4 had tartar and mussels and calamari apps and all were perfect. I had the Gemelli pasta dish (gluten sensitive) and enjoyed the flavors. For breakfast I had the Benedict Hash. My mouth wants to marry that sauce. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked, the sauce is bold with lemon and paprika and oh so delicious.“

I got the poke bowl (a delicious combination of tuna, cucumbers and tomatoes in sauce) and hubby got the fried chicken sandwich….I think it is our new favorite chicken sandwich in Asheville. “We visited Plant for our anniversary. I’m a vegetarian, my husband is not. He was not very excited about coming, but came anyways for me to try it. We had a reservation for right when they opened on a Wednesday night, and even then the line was already pretty long for them just opening. I was surprised to hear they’ve been in business over 13 years! For a vegan restaurant (or ANY restaurant!) to be open that long and still be bustling at the seams — that’s a HUGE feat and nod to their obviously amazing restaurant. My husband got the crispy potatoes and crème brûlée and I got the cauliflower appetizer and the mushroom ravioli. He liked his food pretty ok, and after trying his and finding out he liked it, he then adventured to mine which he previously was not keen on trying. Also, he’s a crème brûlée junkie it seems lol, as he orders one wherever he can find one, and he said he “loved” the one here so that’s a win for vegans everywhere haha ? the cauliflower is delicious, smoky, and has a kick. I don’t like mushrooms but really WANT to like mushrooms (lol) and the ravioli was good for me not liking mushrooms (it’s made with oyster mushrooms which I liked more than others I’ve tried). Overall it was a pretty good experience. Our server was EXCEPTIONAL, kind, smiley, and genuinely interested in us and small talk etc (even though she was busy). We were also impressed for such a small kitchen that the kitchen staff worked with and around each other flawlessly, each knowing exactly what needed done at all times. The only things I knocked a star off for was something in the bar area (that we were near) was a strong bad smell, especially when they opened the fridge or something down under the counter, and it made the experience a little more unpleasant to often smell it while we tried to enjoy our food. The other thing I didn’t like was the weird non-smiling attitude of all the other staff in the place (who wasn’t our server). They didn’t smile when giving plates and drinks to people or interacting with them, and just maintained a generally scowly face, which I thought kinda ruined a potentially awesome vibe here. Maybe it was a hard night ??‍♀️“

“The food and service were fantastic! However, the reason I will return every time I visit Asheville is not actually food related. The owners fed their employees and their families the entire time they were shut down for Covid. The owner’s husband is involved in many global humanitarian projects. While I was reading the Cantina’s historical wall display, the researcher responsible for the wall came and spent about 20 minutes chatting with me about the area’s history. I was moved by life work of the people associated with the restaurant and will return in support of goodness in the world.“

“After a great dinner, we walked around checking out different shops and looking for a cookie to take back to our hotel. It was our first time in Asheville visiting friends who moved here over a year ago. This was a very popular spot for an evening snack. They had all the classic pastries that you’d hope for, including cheesecakes, key lime pies, cookies. We were pleased and came out with one pastry and 2 chocolate dipped peanut butter cookies. They were fantastic!“

“If you like Nashville hot chicken and are in the area, I’d highly recommend Rockies. This location tends to get busy but the food comes out quickly. The parking situation can also get a bit busy at times.Our go to orders are: Pimento BLT sandwich with fried Mac poppers and a fried chicken combo with pickles. We love spice so we go with Rockies Hot but to some people this may be a too spicy. If you’re a spice novice then go with mild or original. They are tasty no matter the level.“

“I grab takeout from here at least once a week. They have the best sushi in south Asheville, perhaps even all of Asheville. The quality never wavers. The staff is also fantastic. My only complaint would be that sometimes I have to wait longer than expected, but I recognize that they’re probably short-staffed, and they’re always very apologetic. Keep up the great work!“

“I had my first experience here today at lunch. I am not from the Asheville area, but the food was amazing. The entire staff from the host to the serving staff were amazing. This is the kind of place that I would make a couple of hour drive, just to go visit and eat.“

“We had mixed feelings about Avenue M. The hot cheesy artichoke dip was one of the best things we've ever eaten and worth a trip no matter what else. I would definitely go back for that. I had the smash burger and my husband had chicken wings (we had some difficulty finding something enticing on the very small menu); they were good and acceptable but that's about it. The ambience is one of those (now outdated) industrial style restaurants which I find cold and noisy when crowded. Service was very attentive.“

“I've been coming to Rosetta's since I was a kid but hadn't been to the new location. Everything was exactly as I remembered it and the quality, taste, and spirit is very much the same. Truly some of the best vegan food I've ever had. Highly recommend the Reuben and smashed potatoes.“
