The pour over didn't have the cleanest pull, but that's only if I'm nitpicking. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, but also bustling enough that I could study or work and enjoy the background as white noise. Our little breakfast was scored by Cage the Elephant's album Social Cues and then some late 2010s J-Pop, which helped make the experience feel cinematic. Definitely will be adding this to the itinerary again next time we visit. We also bought a cute mug to celebrate the occasion!“

“I was visiting my sisters and their friend in Asheville and was invited to eat at Pizza Mind. My group are all vegetarians, but I am not. They ordered personal sized pizzas with vegetarian toppings. I did get a taste of the Roasted Beets and Cauliflower pizza. It was a very good combination. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and a Caesar side salad. The dressing was authentic with anchovies. I'm not a fan of anchovies, but it was so well balanced, I really didn't mind. I ate the whole thing. The Cuban came on a really great bread. I think it was baked locally and was really fresh. The rest of the sandwich tasted good, but a little skimpy on the meats. I'm used to Florida Cuban sandwiches which are plump with meat. I would visit Pizza Mind again on my next trip to Asheville and try a pizza.“

Beer, cider, kombucha are on draft. A modest wine list came with the menu when were seated. Both beers were good. For a starter, we ordered the hummus with toasted pita. After, I enjoyed the signature Nine Mile entree with jerk chicken and linguine. Dishes can be served with basmati rice or linguine. The waiter also brought samples of the hot sauce for us to try. We were both too full to entertain dessert. Street parking is available but please be mindful to not block any driveways. “I recently tried Taco Temple and overall, it was a decent experience. We started with chips and guacamole, which was fresh and plentiful, with large chunks of avocado. For our main course, we ordered the barbacoa and mahi tacos. The barbacoa had a delicious stew-like flavor, but the mahi tacos were a bit dry. I also ordered the avocado torta, it was quite good! The meal was good but not outstanding. The prices were average for the market, making it a reasonable choice. I truly sat there crying and my nurse came in and I told her I was starving. She sniffed my food and made a face. She told me then, "you know you can order out for delivery". Then she said that when she was a patient there that she ordered out for all meals. I chose PIE:ZAA and ordered a slice of sausage. It was so good. When the nurse brought it to me she said "Good Choice." My stomach was smaller after not eating for three days but I almost killed that giant piece of pizza. Salt Face Mule Brewing Co. Brewery • $$

“My wife and I met here for a going away party for a friend. The place is large with indoor and outdoor seating with a mini-golf course behind it. Good variety of selection on beer types and about 12-15 of them. The breakfast sandwich was a home run... like completely surprised us both for a brewpub... we were there during brunch, so she was able to get brunch and me lunch (think brunch ends at 3:30 Saturdays/Sundays). She had the breakfast sandwich, which was a monster and was a very good value. The sandwich was satisfying and so flavorful, especially with whatever sauce that was. The home fries were ordered extra crispy, and they came out perfectly crispy and not burnt or greasey.I am a sucker for shrimp and grits, so I usually get it if I see it on a menu. The shrimp were cleaned first off so they did that right and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The sausage was still juicy and flavorful. The grits were cooked well but honestly, it didn't taste much of cheddar and noticed barely any jalapeno. The sauce was supposed to be garlicky cajun cream sauce. I got the garlic and cream but no cajun spice, and overall it needed some salt and pepper because of that lack of heat.Overall it was a great brunch spot with a tasty large breakfast sandwich and crispy home fries; but mediocre shrimp and grits. Beer selection is good.8.5/10“

“Just damn good coffee. Highly recommend. It's been a while; was in town in December. I think the drink I had was called the winter solstice. Rosemary and candied orange slice. Absolutely loved it. Big fan of treating coffee as a base for a craft "cocktail" experience; I'm utterly bored with basic vanilla/caramel/chocolate coffee drinks. Don't get me wrong, vanilla/caramel/chocolate coffee drinks are tasty, I'm just bored with them. Rowan Coffee brews a mean bean, and explores interesting flavor profiles. Love it. Ambiance was great: nice dark academia feel to the place. I was there on a Saturday morning though, so it was super busy. I wouldn't want to sit and enjoy my cup there in that volume of foot traffic, but I'd love to sit and enjoy my cup there on other days of the week during the midday lull. Service was stellar as well. They misheard my order; only charged me for one of the two drinks I ordered. While standing there waiting for our second drink for probably 15 mins, they realized something had been missed. They made my drink for free once they realized what happened. This was totally a two-party error: I should've noticed my bill was about $7 shy of the full order and said something before paying, but I didn't notice. They took it upon themselves to make it right anyway. Very grateful for that level of service.“
