“I would without a doubt make the drive from Asheville to Marshall for the sole purpose of eating their “nachos”. They were absolutely amazing - and if you save some of them for after a night of drinking, they’re insanely better.”

“It's a quirky fun place that bridges establishments back in the day that were often the only place to get supplies for a ways and today's places with fun yard scultptures, unique snacks, and artisan crafts. Just a great vibe.”

“We loooove this coffee shop. The coffee flavors are delicious and the pastries are wonderful. If you're lucky to pop in when they have fresh empanadas, they are fantastic. The staff is super generous and we enjoyed stopping in often during our visit.”

“Wife and I made a trip from Weaverville and it was very enjoyable. The food was delicious. We had hamburger steak with onions and brown gravy, macaroni and cheese, and okra. It was all incredibly good. The way they made the Mac cheese was perfect...cup style bowl where the cheese was running down the side a little bit... cooked with heart for sure. Atmosphere was nice- relaxing and super friendly staff. We will go back for sure the next time we are in the Asheville area.”
“Hollie, with Sweet Monkey, provided the catering for our wedding this passed weekend. We can’t say enough good things about working with her! Hollie was wonderful at communicating back and forth and putting together a menu for the wedding that was absolutely perfect! She provided us with items for cocktail hour, and while guests were raving about the dip she made, seeing firsthand the joy on a friends face with her cheese sauce said more than words could. Dinner was a perfect taco bar and accompanying sides. All that, plus she was so extremely professional and kind both before and during the wedding. You could do no better working with Hollie and Sweet Monkey for your catering or just stopping by her location for a meal! Thank you so much for a wonderful time, Hollie!”

“Love this coffee shop. Delicious lattes and the food is sooooo good. We get the same thing every time. I get the veggie Reuben (it’s a bit on the salty side so if you’re not into salt try something else), my mum gets the blt, and my husband gets the turkey something or other. We all have very different food tastes and this place satisfies all of our desires.”
“Came in at the end just as the young man was cleaning up for closing. I asked if he was still open & he said yes. I asked if he just wanted to do a dealers Choice with spinach & mayo lol. Homie hooked me up! Thank you Kind Sir ?”

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!”

“We had walked by this place so many times and had heard nothing but good things but being retired and on a budget, we waited until a really special occasion...our 70th Birthdays. What a culinary treat! The food was great; exquisitely prepared. The ramp salad with fresh shiitake and oyster mushrooms was delicious. My entrée, rigatoni with wild boar bolognese, was wonderfully seasoned and the pasta was a perfect al dente. Same for the spinach ravioli. The desserts didn't disappoint either. All in all it was a most pleasant evening and well worth the price.”
“My wife and I met here for a going away party for a friend. The place is large with indoor and outdoor seating with a mini-golf course behind it. Good variety of selection on beer types and about 12-15 of them. The breakfast sandwich was a home run... like completely surprised us both for a brewpub... we were there during brunch, so she was able to get brunch and me lunch (think brunch ends at 3:30 Saturdays/Sundays). She had the breakfast sandwich, which was a monster and was a very good value. The sandwich was satisfying and so flavorful, especially with whatever sauce that was. The home fries were ordered extra crispy, and they came out perfectly crispy and not burnt or greasey.I am a sucker for shrimp and grits, so I usually get it if I see it on a menu. The shrimp were cleaned first off so they did that right and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The sausage was still juicy and flavorful. The grits were cooked well but honestly, it didn't taste much of cheddar and noticed barely any jalapeno. The sauce was supposed to be garlicky cajun cream sauce. I got the garlic and cream but no cajun spice, and overall it needed some salt and pepper because of that lack of heat.Overall it was a great brunch spot with a tasty large breakfast sandwich and crispy home fries; but mediocre shrimp and grits. Beer selection is good.8.5/10”

“Fantastic beer selection and atmosphere. We always stop in when we are walking around town! Hoppy Trees was the first place we went to when we were considering a move up to Weaverville. The friendliness we encountered really set the tone, and we ended up moving here a few months later!”

“We’re from TN and took a day trip to Hot springs. Cool place! Stopped by Vinyl Pies and got a Pizza for the 3 of us. First of all the atmosphere of the place is so cool. I had to check out all the cool decor and quotes they had on the walls. Even the bathroom was decorated with album covers and was so creative! We had the friendliest server (she might have been the owner). The pizza was great. We had the margarita pizza. Not sure where they get their tomatoes but man were they delicious! The seasoning that they have on the table is GREAT too! Definitely will be back! 5 ⭐️”

“We were in Weaverville to be with family for a wedding. We stopped in to Twisted Laurel for dinner. We sat on the back patio. It was shady and nice. They have a good list of wines and beers including local beers. Hubby and I ordered a plate of pita and hummus as an appetizer. It comes with 3 types of hummus and whipped feta cheese. Delicious. The pita was cut into triangles and was very soft. The hummus was tasty but the star of the plate was the whipped feta cheese, creamy, salty, delicious! We both ordered the Greek meatballs for our entree. It came with a Greek salad. The salad was fresh. I believe they make the dressing in house and it was outstanding. The Greek meatballs were very good. They came out piping hot and covered in melted cheese. I would definitely visit again. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. The service was good and attentive without being instrusive.”

“Easily some of the best pizza in Carolina. Seriously good, sauce is wicked all by itself self. Toppings generous and crust is simply done right. Shane that description doesn’t match most pizza places but it certainly does Blue Mountain. A gem in Weaverville. Staff super friendly. And the butter pecan ice cream? I’m not a good enough writer to begin to say how good that was. Easily tops Graeter’s of Cincinnati…and if you’re an ice cream connoisseur as I am, you’ll know what high praise that is. Just a fantastic lil place serving great food!”
“Great vibe! Great beer and friendly humans and dogs!”
