“We came here for the first time while we stayed at a local treehouse getaway! The food was fantastic! We both got cheese burgers and some pretzels. All was delicious and we got to sit outside overlooking the river. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were all very hospitable. The first friendly face we encountered was Alisha! We had no idea where to go to order or where to go. Alisha was a sweetheart to us and helped us order and answered all our first timer questions. She was a joy as was our experience to Hillman Beer. Also I’d like to add you don’t have to enjoy alcoholic drinks to enjoy this place. We knocked back a few cokes and took in the scenery.“

“This restaurant is almost 1.5 hours away from me and I have gone almost every other week for a few months now because the food is just THAT GOOD. I had my fiance come after I raved about it for weeks and he agrees, it's worth the long drive and we have been back a few times since.“

“Decided to stop here on the way home from Asheville! The food was delicious! We got the french toast, pancakes and the blueberry waffle. The bacon and sausage were very good! They are dog friendly which is a plus. We will definitely be back!“

“My Father's Pizza absolutely sets the stage for quality, scenery, and service. It's reasonably priced, has plenty of space inside and out, and the large build your own pizza absolutely rocks. Coming from someone who loves pizza, there's nothing to frown upon with the way they make it here.“

“It's an Old timey bar that now serves more food than drinks. Big bar and what looks like a 1950's dance floor with tables and chairs. Food wasn't bad - had the fish and chips, partner had a salad. Nothing special. Place was packed, though, and service was excellent (when we were finally seated)“

“Found this place on the way back to Winston-Salem from Brevard, NC. The food was outstanding - from the homemade pimento cheese w/ celery and crackers appetizer to our entrees of Gorgonzola cranberry salad w/ salmon and roast turkey w/ mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, green beans and fruit chutney. Mmmm! Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we shared a strawberry brownie with lemon gelato and homemade whipped cream for dessert. What a refreshing end to a fabulous meal!“
“Beer reigns supreme at Black Mountain Brewing, and you're sure to find something tempting when you stop in. If you're not sure, they'll have something to recommend from the plethora they offer. Personally, I've enjoyed their dark and seasonal beers, but they offer so much more to please multiple palates. If you're walking around Black Mountain and need a spot to take a load off, stop in! They've got cozy seating inside and two covered decks outside, complete with heaters for the chilly weather. Most often there's wonderful local acoustic music and singers out there to listen to while you enjoy their delicious beverages. And if you'd like food to accompany, you can bring something from one of the surrounding businesses or try their on site BBQ food truck that's parked out back-a treat if you enjoy BBQ! To top it off, the staff and service is always welcoming, helpful and at the ready for any questions!“

“Passing through on the way home we had to make a last minute stop in black mountain. I ran in town pump tavern to pass some time why my husband attended a work meeting. My bartender Ariana was absolutely amazing!! The environment is very welcoming and the people talk to you like you have known them forever. We will definitely be back!!Also they don’t take cards! There is an atm inside.“
“Super nice people and quick service during a busy Sunday brunch hour. Served 9 people with the most amazing breakfast sandwiches (I had the egg, bacon and cheese on ciabatta with home made herb aioli), ate outdoors on the patio with a lovely breeze. Yum!“

“My partner and I ordered a variety of apps and drinks during our visit after walking around downtown, and everything was delicious!!!! The pizza tots were amazing, and the fried mozzarella was a perfect blend of melty interior and crunchy exterior. The pistachio and whipped feta carrots were also to die for, and I ate nearly the whole plate by myself! The house-made lavender simple syrup was scrumptious and made for a perfect and refreshing early summer cocktail; my partner’s smoke-infused old fashioneds were on point as well, and he tried several different bitter flavors - all were great. Overall, a lovely experience that really put the (rye-bourbon soaked) cherry on top of our trip to Black Mountain! Definitely stop in and ask Phillip to make you a drink!“

“Beer is great! Food is good enough to eat there - but if you have a kiddo, this is THE place! Took our toddler and the dirt pit with trucks and diggers is amazing! It’s very fenced in so feels safe and comfortable!And their kids meals come with an Honest juice box! Fantastic place. ? ?“
