Sakrid Coffee Roasters Coffee • $
300 Witherspoon St, Princeton

“I'm writing this review as I'm still sitting here at the cafe, because it's just so nice. I've been to their first location on Nassau street a few times but have avoided going as of late because it's always just so busy, crowded and truthfully, a little impersonal feeling. I just found out they opened a second location last night, so needless to say, I came right away. The location is a little hard to find from the outside, but I went through homestead to try and figure it out and found there was a door between the two stores. They do also have their own entrance. I picked up a bag of beans, a croissant and an americano, and the americano was on the house, I'm assuming with the purchase of the beans. My drink was so smooth that I had to ask what beans they use and it's their house espresso blend. I ended up getting their single origin Burundi, a light roast leaning towards medium, I was told, because I only do drip and pour over at home. The space is minimalist, open, and has lots of small seating. Patrons were very respectful and kept conversations low, so it was a really nice spot just to chill out.“

Glazed Croissant

“Sakrid is operating out of a different location during renovations, but it was still easy to get to and had plenty of convenient parking. The short detour was well worth it! Our group went on a very warm October day so we got cold brew, iced lattes with regular milk and iced lattes with oat milk. Some took it with nothing added and a few got vanilla or maple syrup. Everything was top quality and the espresso drinks really impressed the coffee geeks (myself included). They use a medium roast for their espresso. It was really well dialed in and came out balanced, rich with well rounded flavor that held up to both types of milk. I will definitely go back again the next time I am in the area!“

Scone

“By far the best latte I've ever had, period. Been a longtime customer of this location. I'm a latte junkie and always visit highly regarded coffee shops when I'm traveling (whether for business or leisure). I've gone to many famous shops in NYC and Brooklyn and Rojo's is right up there with them, if not, better than most. The flavor of their latte is so unique and leaves you with a lasting impression that makes you go back over and over again. I now live 50 min. away from Princeton, but still go back at least once a month just to grab their latte again. The baristas do an incredible job of extracting espresso that really brings out the flavor of the beans. Everyone I've brought to Rojo's were impressed and became fans of the spot. The only downside is that it's a small store with limited seating (it sits maybe 6 people).“

Add Espresso

“I got a vanilla latte and loved it. This is my new favorite coffee place in the area. Latte was smooth and not at all bitter. They have some baked goods that I'll have to try next time. Guy working here made a design on top which was a nice touch. I definitely recommend coming here and everything seemed well priced.“

Ice Cream Sundaes

“Thomas sweet has been a family favorite for years and I was excited to visit after they relocated across the street. Food: my go-to and favorite thing here is a blend-in. Unlike other places with a blizzard/mcflurry like treat, a blend in takes hard icecream and turns it into a soft icecream like texture. Sweet cream with heath is an elite combo. Service: the girls at the counter were nice and quick in getting us help. Ambiance: definitely miss their old location across the street, but the new shop is nice. It's clean, and well decorated. It just doesn't feel as homey as the cafe. Value: the prices are reasonable and in line with most other icecream shops around.“
