“Time and time again, Shah’s Halal cart has been my go to halal cart in all of NY. I’ve tried halal carts from LES, UES, UWS, Flat Iron, Financial District, 53rd and 6th, Astoria, Bayside, etc, and I still come back to Shah’s. I moved to Florida 6 years ago and when I come back to visit family, you bet I’m paying a visit to Shah’s.“

Chicken Lamb over Rice

“Food was flavorful!! Portions were a nice size! I got the chicken over rice and my husband and sister got the combination over rice with white sauce and hot sauce. It’s a little food truck parked near an intersection. The one guy cooking and serving was very nice. The area felt safe too. You get your food in aluminum containers with clear plastic lids- so you can reheat your leftovers in the aluminum. We ate ours in the car because there’s no seating. We found street parking- paid $1.25 which bought us 40 min. The meals were bout $33 for all 3 of us including 3 sodas. We paid with card. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area.“

Chicken with Rice with Free Soda

“During my 5 years in college, regardless of the campus I went to, the bus would always take me past this corner. I'd stop, more often than not, to pick up some halal here if I hadn't eaten all day. I always get lamb over rice with white sauce, and it's always been good. Depending on who is working the truck you'll either get a very friendly person or a very apathetic person, but never a rude one. Price has gone up over the years from $5 to $8 a platter, but that's just life. You spend $12+ for a meal in other places so it's not much to complain about.“

“UPDATED 3/28/23We’ve been back a few times since the last review and continues to be a win win! Today we got the lamb gyro is was extremely tender, fresh and filled with flavor!! Best thing yet. Also I got to speak to Abdul more today and he’s an extremely friendly person!I let him know I’ve already left a review but he Also he wanted to let everyone know he is now open 24 hours!!!Great find!!! Super rich and tasty. The combo with rice and salad was excellent and so much food for the price. Everything was super fresh and incredibly flavorful. The spring mix is a nice touch and it was so drag and crunchy. Really nice. The meat was seasoned to perfection and nice portions. Yasmín was friendly and quick service. Definitely a great find!!!“
