“I recently dined at Madeira Sports Café with a friend on a quiet Tuesday night. The dual ambiance of a bar and dining area created a welcoming atmosphere. Our meal started with delicious beef pastries as an appetizer. For the main course, my friend enjoyed the pasta a la vodka, while I opted for the grilled shrimp with rice and vegetables. We paired our meals with a glass of Portuguese red and white wine.The attentive service by Mauricio, our waiter, truly stood out. When I praised the white wine without knowing its name, Mauricio went the extra mile, bringing an empty bottle for us to photograph. He also thoughtfully changed the TV channel from loud soccer to horse riding, enhancing our dining experience. Mauricio’s timely and polite check-ins added to the overall positive impression.The food itself was exceptional, and we chose to forgo dessert. With Mauricio’s attentive service and the delectable dishes, I confidently give Madeira Sports Café a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. We’re already looking forward to another delightful dinner at this establishment and highly recommend it to others.“

“Very nice, southern European feel - service was excellent, my wife had the skirt steak which was very flavorful, and I had the black sea bass - a full fish, head and all! Was very nice, large, and substantial side portions. Also, a very good deal.“

“The food is incredible. We had seafood feijoada, salmon, clams/sausage, and I have had paelha, goat, and other dishes in the past- we have enjoyed every choice every time. Family-style rice and veggies, portuguese vinho, and the beautiful dining room feel every bit like you're in Portugal. The staff are very pleasant and the service is great as well. Muito obrigado.Parking: Usually find a spot around corner on side street and have always wound up close enough to make it less than a two-minute walk without having to cross busy street. No trouble at all, even with three kids.Kid-friendliness: My wife and I brought our children- 8, 7, and almost 2. High chair with belt was available, staff offered suggestions and accommodations for the kids, and were very welcoming. While it's easy to worry about bringing kids into a smaller nice place like this, we have been here before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again with them. Kids menu had some classic favorites so everyone found something they loved without issue.“

“Pedro and his staff are top notch! When we’re in NY this is our place to enjoy a great meal with the old fashioned feel due to the dining room decor. Now the food review. Nothing here will disappoint you. Everything is cooked to perfection and like it just came off a boat or farm. We were in NY for 3 days and we ate here 3 times. The steak sandwiches for lunch are to die for. The bread is beyond fresh. Order a double espresso and sit back with a chocolate mousse dessert. “I ordered the rodizhio and the very first round of meat served was great later the second round wasn't great as the first round, the meat wasn't cooked properly, some of them was medium rare and others was really rarely cooked, I didn't asked for that I told them my meat i want it cooked done, but I give to try and gave me stomach ache, MY RECOMMENDATION TO EVERYONE TO BE VERY SPECIFIC AND KEEP REMAINING THE SERVER HOW YOU LIKE COOKED YOUR RODIZHIO. that why I give 4 stars on food.Parking: Great places because always a guy walking around making sure nobody break into your vehicle.“

“I went over the weekend to this restaurant following my sister's suggestion. I want to said that she was 100% correct when she claimed that the chicken was the best she had ever had. After trying I can also attest to it, the chicken coupled with crisp veggies and flavorful rice was a good choice. We also tried the sangria and it was pretty good as well.I am planning to come back soon as there are other dishes that I would like to try.At last, the staff was super friendly and willing to please....Kudos to this new neighborhood restaurant!“

“This restaurant is the greatest. The owner and he husband are extremely nice and their food is excellent. Our 2 year old always enjoys the food herself. They have an extensive menu and the dishes are made fresh after you order. The appetizers such as the baby octopus and shrimp wrapped in bacon are on another level. The picaña is also amazing. Most people who are there are regulars. Very relaxing atmosphere as well.“

“My family loves Chimichurri! The quality of the food is excellent and the value is terrific. This would be true if it wasn't kosher but we keep kosher and getting this quality and value with kosher is phenomenal! Our favorites are the steak, fried and grilled wings!Dietary restrictions: Kosher“

“I had lunch here today and it was really good! I got the grilled chicken with yellow rice and sweet plantains and two chicken and cheese empanadas.The grilled chicken and rice were good. The sweet plaintains were’t really very sweet how I like them but they were pretty good. The chicken empanadas were good and cheesy but I wish they had beef and cheese instead.Overall this is a pretty good lunch spot, and considering the area not too unreasonably priced. I would definitely go back here again.Parking: There is no parking lot. You have to park in the street.Kid-friendliness: You could definitely bring kids and your family there with no issues.“

“I love this restaurant. Every bartender/waitress has been friendly helpful and attentive. If the food takes a while it is because the food is cooked to order.. the prices are reasonable. No complaints here.“

“Very convenient location and fast service. The older gentleman at the counter taking our orders was super nice which helped us be patient while he struggled to put in our orders. The food was fantastic all around, I have absolutely zero complaints. It smelled so good in there (air freshener) I couldn't even smell the food cooking which made me nervous but I had nothing to worry about because it ended up being great. I especially loved the cinnamon on the grilled pineapple. The rice bowl was well balanced and seasoned to perfection. I could continue to rave about this place but you can just try it for yourself. P.S my friend said her left overs of the rice bowl was a bit greasy so I recommend eating everything fresh although that may be hard because it's a hefty serving of food.“

“Great restaurant for dinner. Excellent restaurant for Brunch. Me and my other half have been here numerous times for the brunch, and each time, we have a great time with the unlimited mimosas and white Sangria's. The food is always great here, and their standard price brunch is right on the mark. There is a slightly higher price on holidays like Easter Sunday that us regulars noticed, but we get it. The ambiance is beautiful rustic style and there is a modernized room that they have to right when you go in, which looks fun too. The waiters are always attentive, and the bread is always fresh. The white sangria is the star of the show for me. We will be back to this neighborhood gem.“

“I’ve never been to a rodizio restaurant before, and I came up to Long Island to spend Easter and my birthday with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. It was by far the best experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant, the staff were professional, knowledgeable, efficient , the food is constantly hot. I would rate this restaurant at 10 star! If you’re on Long Island, it’s a must to try!“

“This is an excellent restaurant serving Portuguese food. We have enjoyed many of their offerings with family and friends. Paella is our favorite and we typically share a salad and a paella as this allows us to enjoy the variety and to avoid waste. We were somewhat put off by the server informing us that there was now a $10 sharing charge. Note that this was not on the menu. He did say that the paella would be a larger serving to compensate. There was an increase in the serving but this meant that there would be waste or the need to bring home leftovers which is not always convenient. We will probably go back but next time we will only have the paella and nothing additional.“

“Food and service was amazing. Carolina was welcoming and did it all. Will definitely become a regular here. We dined at the restaurant and had the chicken and spare ribs for dinner with sweet potato fries, rice and veggies, it was delectable. Highly recommend!“

“Wow! Went there Last night w the wife wasn’t busy the service was quick & tentative. The Sangria very good I give it a 7 out of 10 the sea food mix platter in the red sauce Delicious especially when u dip the bread in the sauce Delicious! Shrimps were Jumbo indeed. Highly recommend it. Keep in mind they do add a 19% gratuity (Tip) even for party of 2 which I didn’t mind but I would have gave them 25%.or more. They add it in the total about of the bill. “This was our first time at Antonio’s. We had a great dining experience. We had the seafood grill for our main dish. Cooked perfectly and so tasty. Service was very good as well. Our waiter was extremely caring. He suggested a desert of “Portuguese Cake” amazing!!! Not to mention we are foodies. Would definitely go back!!“
