“On a serene Sunday morning, my friend and I embarked on a culinary adventure to indulge in the famed croissant rolls that had taken Instagram by storm. As expected, the bakery was bustling with eager patrons, forming a snaking queue that hinted at the treat awaiting us. Amidst the anticipation, we eagerly selected two croissants: one pistachio and one chocolate, adhering to the limit of two per person.Upon sinking our teeth into the delectable pastries, we were met with an explosion of flavor that surpassed all expectations. The creamy filling melded seamlessly with the flaky exterior, creating a symphony of taste and texture that left us craving more. However, we couldn't help but notice the limited availability of the croissants, especially on weekends. This posed a challenge for those traveling from afar, hoping to share the experience with loved ones. While the quality of the croissants was good, we couldn't help but feel that the bakery could benefit from producing larger quantities or additional batches, particularly during peak hours. Despite this inconvenience, our experience was nothing short of delightful, and we eagerly look forward to our next visit but hoping that they do a better job managing their demand!Parking: There is a parking lot right in front but really expensive, which is typical NyC! Better to use public transport if possible!“

“This place is a true hidden gem in the heart of downtown. Food is to die for with a ton of options for vegetarians and vegans and every single thing is to die for.Service is just out of the world and our server, who was a fashion designer, was just as good a company as one can hope for. They even agreed to make oysters broiled (instead of raw) and it was a true delight. While wall st area has many steak houses, this one truly stand out and I would rate it as by far the best that I have been to. Can't wait to go back!“

“Went to see a friend in the city and we decided to dine here. The vibe is old French restaurant, been around forever. It's small inside but cozy. The food, let's discuss the food!! First I must say the fresh bread and butter served is excellent! I almost filled up on the bread alone!! So yum. We had a few apps: salad, the seared foie gras, and we decided to take the rabbit special as yet another appetizer. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic and fresh. For main courses the ladies had seared fish, and I had the lamb chops. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. The server also brought some fresh vegetables including a carrot puree that was just amazing. For dessert we had the pastry puffs filled with fresh creme and the sorbets topped with fresh crème and berries. Oh my oh my. Delightful is the word that comes to mind! No wonder so many locals visit this fine establishment!! Go here. You won't be disappointed.“

“I was in Marseille today with my mother and sister for brunch not only was the atmosphere welcoming and amazing but our waiter Maruf was spectacular! He was there right away asking if we needed time or if we knew what we wanted to drink. He then came again to ask what we would like to eat and then came checking in on us periodically. His tone and vibe were sweet and completely attentive. Maruf was just flat-out wonderful all around. The food was also amazing in how flavorful it was to eat. We had salmon tartare, fava bean hummus, and escargots en persillade for beginners. Then we got the corque madame and frisse aux pardons(shares between my mother and me) respectively. It was my little sister's 16th birthday and they brought out our desserts while singing softly to her. The creme brulee was delightful. Everything at this restaurant was completely and utterly beautiful and I highly recommend people coming here to eat!“

“Amazing ambiance, my waitress made sure that my mom and I were able to get in and out before our broadway show! We ordered the focaccia to share (9/10 was so good and it tasted kind of like a mini pizza) and the tuna tartare (8/10 tasted good but kind of small) She ordered the half chicken (10/10 was perfectly cooked) and I ordered the grilled dorade (10/10 also perfectly cooked and the farro it was on top was good too!) we also each got a glass of wine which added together definitely made dinner expensive but good for special occasions!“

BABS

BABS European •
72 MacDougal St, New York

“I truly, truly love Babs. I've been coming here for a few years specifically for the oysters with the champagne mignonette - it's phenomenal. The ambiance is sophisticated and intimate, great for a small group of friends or a date. It pains me to give them four stars but I have to because of the service - I swear the waitress looked right at my friend and I waiting for a table and hid in the back. There were plenty of tables, so the bartender asked us if we'd like to sit, and then went and asked her to seat us. I felt like everything we asked for bothered her and I couldn't say thank you enough. Maybe it was an off night for her I'm not sure but from other reviews seems to be a theme. Go for the food and the bar! The location is amazing and it's nice to sit outside in warm weather.“

“My husband and I had a fabulous dining experience for our wedding anniversary. The hostess, Gabrielle was gracious and welcoming, the perfect way to start the evening. Charles, the bartender was a master at his craft, making one of the best Champagne spritzers I have ever had. Our server, Eleanor was top notch, offering valuable guidance on the menu options. And the meal was delicious -- particularly notable were the hors d'oeuvres including the pate, soupe au pistou (green chickpea soup) and asparagus. Our chicken entree was perfectly prepared. A memorable evening!“
