Amazing food here. Atmosphere felt fun - a great place for late night dates or drinking.Edomame dumplings (8/10): the interior is sort of a fragrant pea mash. This is sort of new-generation dumpling. My older relatives werent a fan of this dish.Pork buns (9/10): tasted like kong ba bao. Very tasty but quite expensive for the portion (its like $7 per piece before tips/tax?)Alaskan black cod (10/10): might be biased but im a big fan of cod and this was a thoroughly enjoyable dish. I love the mix in textures and tastes - with the crunch from the cucumbers and a little sweet and spicy from the chilli eggplants.Sausage fried rice (9/10): Very tasty! Love the fragrance coming through and that its not very oily.Crying chocolate (10/10): my senses were crying with joy! Im just in love with the whole plate - so rare to have chocolate malt in a fondant; crunch with the coffee ice cream works so well.Dining here was a treat and would love to be back! Only complaint is that this place is pretty noisy.

This is a very honest review about this place!!! We were choosing this restaurant for such a long time. We made a reservation in advance for a birthday party, and our friends from other states came to join us.First of all, they seated us at a table that was very close to the restroom. We asked to be moved to another table. Then the waiter took our order in a very rude way. When he took our order, he repeated it and then just left. It was a very bad attitude from the waiter in such an expensive place! The food was good, but you also go to places like this for the hospitality. We asked for a birthday cake for our friend six times, and no one brought it to us. Our birthday girl ended up paying for everything, leaving a generous tip, and then ordering a taxi. Our whole group was in shock that after asking six times, no one brought the cake. She was very upset about this. Instead of just bringing us a cake with a candle after asking six times, they brought their manager. We didn't need the manager, just a small piece of cake to make the birthday party special. The manager didn't make it special. She just made it worse. She just came to the birthday girl to solve this problem, but supposed to come to us, because we ordered this cake for her surprise. Why? I have been a waitress for a long time, now I'm working as a director of a cafe, and I have never experienced this situation. People go to a restaurant for a birthday for the impressions and the experience. It's a special event. It would have been better to celebrate at home than to go to this restaurant with such terrible service. Six times... Goodness. It's a shame for a restaurant with such a high rating to have this level of service.

My wife and I go out to dinner a lot. Both of us were in the restaurant business for several years. I very seldom leave any reviews, but just had to this time. This place totally blew us away. Everything was perfect, the food the setting, the impeccable service....and fairly reasonable prices. Definitely one of the top three restaurants we've even been to anywhere on this planet!

The tasting menu is so worth it if you have a larger group of people.

Buddakan was a restaurant that was recommended to me for my birthday. I enjoyed my night as it was close to a last minute reservation for my birthday in the city. The service was on point when I went to this establishment. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and he was there every step of the way. He was very experienced with years of his profession. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne a very delicious dinner along with a birthday song and desert with happy birthday written on the plate.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences i ever had. Every bite was on another level. The edamame dumplings are a must, so much flavor, they melt in your mouth. We also had the pork buns, the lobster rice and the Black Cod. The black cod dish was incredible! We also took the crying chocolate dessert, so rich!

Talk about classy. Absolutely amazing food and service. Located right in the heart of Chelsea across from Tao. The chef deserves 5 stars.

We arrived at the time of our reservation and had to wait in bar area for quite some time. When we were finally seated, it took us some time to get the waiters to notice us. Then we ordered wine and then again the waiter disappears for 15 min. It took us about 35 min to order the food. And then the food came. It was just not good and overpriced. Everything was either super sweet or with no spices at.all (the lobster rice). It is not recommended in any way possible.

Came here for the first time a few months ago for a business dinner and had a great time. Returned for my graduation dinner tonight, excited to show my parents and grandparents a great time and it was a completely different experience. It took about 10-15 minutes after we sat down for anyone to come to ask about water, and we had to flag down the server twice to even put in an order. The appetizers came out quickly but the main dishes didn’t come out for 20 minutes, and one of them was not what we ordered so we had to wait an additional 20 minutes after we had basically eaten most of what was on the table for the final dish to appear. I also had to ask several times for water, and I noticed that the server poured unequal amounts of champagne into the glasses of myself versus that of my parents. Overall a disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a celebratory event.

A restaurant that looks really hip and cool, but in my opinion the food is pretty average. Average tasting, and the random service bringing meals at all different times with randomly differing intervals was not just confusing, but utterly annoying. Maybe we're just spoilt for the quality of food in Europe ?‍♂️, but I won't be coming back.

Absolutely amazing food and service. We took a tasting menu and all the dishes was so delicious with an explosion of flavors. Paired with a good wine and amazing cocktails. The place had a great ambience and vibe. The desserts was an explosion of textures and flavors. Simply amazing! If you love asian fusion, don’t miss this place when in NY!
