“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.”

“The food was really good. All of it was made well and for the most part amazing service. My only issue was the white hostess told us there were no tables and seated us right by the door completely cramped. Asking another waiter he was able to move us and said we need to be done at 8 as the table was reserved. This was at 6, showing the hostess just did not seat us well and communicate properly. If seated there we were ready to leave, but because the other staff were competent, we stayed and enjoyed good food. My other issue is as the tables are small we could only eat one plate at a time. Otherwise, it was very good! I just wish the hostess did not ruin the experience from the get go, with her incompetence.”

Wow. This probably ranks into my top 3 Korean restaurants in the US. It's a quaint shop from the outside that I almost walked by despite following directions, but it's packed with flavor.

We made a reservation two weeks ahead when they opened up and were promptly seated.

Order-to-Dishes: Roughly 13-19 mins for appetizers, 23 mins for sharable entrees.

For three people, we ordered:
-Kimchi (complimentary): Excellent. Great balance, not too acidic.
-Seafood Butter-Gui (5/5): An interesting Mediterranean feeling dish with the pita, but it blends the butter with delicious seafood and the perfect accompaniments to balance out each bite.
-Seafood Pancake (5/5): They manage to get squid or shrimp or mussels into each bite of the pancake. Stellar texture. Delicious balance with the chive and basil.
-Fried Soft Shell Crab (6/5): Holy smokes. Must order. Not sure how they fry this but it is excellently crispy and still fresh tasting at the same time.
-Fried Chicken (4.5/5): I give this a good rating for excellent portions. It's fried in a similar way as the soft shell crab. I think it was a bit weaker in texture but overall, still very good.
-Duck Bulgogi (4/5): While this was the weakest dish in my opinion, the duck was still very tender and flavorful. I think it should have been served with some rice or something other than beansprouts.
-Spicy Fish Stew (4/5): Went very well with rice, very tender fish and clams but not enough to share with 3 people.
-Seafood Japchae (5/5): The heck did they do to make this Japchae so good? The octopus perfectly balanced the Japchae texture and it's a great level of spice.

The quality of seafood was overall excellent.

With two drinks it came out to roughly $75/pp.
I'd definitely come back if only for the soft shell crab, and highly recommend.”

You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! However, my recent visit to Gramercy Tavern compelled me to share my thoughts due to the disappointing experience. I was excited to dine at the bar after waiting half an hour for a seat. I ordered my usual drink, appetizer, and main dish, knowing the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. However, things took a turn when I stepped away to use the restroom. During that brief moment, my belongings—two bags—were removed and given to the coat check staff without my knowledge. When I returned, I was unceremoniously escorted to the exit, which left me confused and uncomfortable. At the reception, I tried to express my concerns, but the staff was dismissive. I requested to speak with a manager, but the coat check attendant firmly stated there was nothing to discuss and closed the door in my face. This treatment was not only unprofessional but also disheartening, especially after spending $145 on my meal. It’s unfortunate that a great dining experience was overshadowed by poor service and a lack of accountability. I hope the management reviews this situation to prevent it from happening to others in the future.”

Great service - attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The focaccia is delicious - recommend the honey butter, olive oil & ricotta to accompany. We split the beet salad and arancini - only call out was the prosciutto on the beet salad was “fried / crispy” vs fresh. For pastas we ordered the lasagna which is a MUST order - perfectly crisp, and the agnolotti short rib pasta. I did not love the agnolotti - would try a different pasta next time. For dessert we had the stracciatella gelato - so yummy and perfect palate cleanser. Must order.

The vibe of the restaurant was so cute - brick walls, intimate, warm, inviting. Even the candle in the bathroom smelled like a wood cabin campfire - invoking a comforting, home-like atmosphere.”

“Noortwyk is somewhere I keep coming back to! I’ve been with friends, with my entire team, on a date, for dinner and for brunch. It’s one of my fav spots in the west village and one that you can usually get a reservation at relatively last minute - a HUGE plus!!

For brunch I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll - ileene cho is their pastry chef who is amazing!!

For dinner I love the kale salad, bucatini, bbq duck and their parker house seeded roll with cultured butter (so good we always end up ordering two!).

I used to love their original Mille Feuille but have been disappointed by their 2.0 version which they’ve ‘deconstructed’. This no longer feels like a premium dessert/Mille Feuille but instead more a random pieces of puff pastry on top of some bananas and cream. Please bring back 1.0!! :)

“My wife and I went here for our 12 year anniversary. “Perfect” is an understatement. I’ve been to a little more than half a dozen 3-star Michelin restaurants over the past decade, and Chef’s Table was one of the best for me. They nailed it from the moment we walked in right to the very end, when they brought out a special dessert dish with a candle to top off our anniversary occasion, and then one of the chef’s came by to congratulate us. I can say they had incredibly fresh and rare ingredients, and prepared it all impeccably - almost in an unreal, dreamlike fashion. But that’s what you expect at a 3-star Michelin place, so that shouldn’t be surprising (although I feel that I ate more flowers here). The way they combined the ingredients, the meticulous attention to detail (that we could see clearly form our table), and the clear respect the kitchen and waiting staff had for each other might have been what set this restaurant apart. The flavors came to life in my mouth. I wouldn’t stop chewing after the food was gone, just to savor the flavors for even another short moment. I know things can’t be perfect in this world, but Chef’s Table is right there. Our waiting staff was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and prompt, but they were also very human and able to anticipate our thoughts. They connected with us unlike previous experiences - simply because they knew that’s what we wanted. Chefs Table has left a lasting memory better than any I’ve had to date. We went there right after seeing The Great Gadspy, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. This is a meal we will remember for ever. Thank you very much for being so amazing. We will be back.”

The place is small, so I do advise making a reservation. Sit in the corner window table if you can! It’s delightful. The menu is seasonal, so what I posted may not be on the menu when you dine. “Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!”

“This was my first time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it definitely did not disappoint! I had the Dave’s #2 with medium spice, which was absolutely perfect. I’ve never had a chicken sandwich this good—huge compliments to the chefs!

As a pickle fan, I really appreciated the extra pickles—such a great touch. If Dave’s were to expand to more countries in Europe, I have no doubt it would be a huge success.

The only downside was that the location felt a bit messy and unclean, but given that it was during rush hour and it's a fast-food spot, it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, a fantastic experience—highly recommended!”

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). We were bummed out that they didn’t have any Bronzino, considering our table doesn’t eat any meat or shellfish. The wall art, the lighting, the room, the live music all comes together to give a perfect setting for any dinner. Then as for the food itself, it was phenomenal. We had the black truffle risotto, the tomato and burrata tarte, the rack of lamb, the hanger steak, the chocolate chip cookies, the vanilla ice cream martini, and the espresso martinis. Everything was so good, I can’t even put it into words to describe it. You just have to try to for yourself. The service was excellent and very attentive to anything we could possibly need. “Twin Tails is advertised as Thai and Vietnamese fusion, which I didnt get it from the food itself. but I dont mind because the food is amazing. I would say it's just an Asian fusion with a lot of different elements combined.

The space is dark and cozy but elegant. the service are excellent the host is super nice, coat check right away upon arrival. even you have reservation they require you to have at least half party to be seated. you can get a drink at the bar while waiting, they can bill straight to your table. we are a table of 6 the table is a bit too small for all the food we ordered but we managed. highly recommend to come at a group of 4 so you can try more different dishes and also at a more comfortable seating.

let's talk about the drinks.

- Salty lychee martini is SO delicious. i was a bit hesitate to order, doubting a sweet lychee will taste weird if it's salty but i was completely blown away. it's a little bit like a dirty martini but has sweet and thai basil flavor. their martini glass is also very large. good portion for the drink.
- Bangkok screwdriver : not my favorite. i think it's premixed , it came out really fast just poured into the ice. nothing spectacular but there's a lot of ice in the highball. not worthy
- if you are whisky drinker, theres no price on the menu, will have to ask the bartender for the price, but the pour is generous.

All food are excellent , the highlights are

- Whole Dorade Sashimi: very fresh fish and good presentation, if you are the person dont like to see the fish head, please skip this dish.
- Green Curry escargot : best twist of the escargot we had , green curry is so tasty , it comes with toasted bread, in the end we just use bread to clean the plate because it is that good.
- Crying Tiger Steak: we ordered medium rare , the steak was perfectly cooked, thick cut very juicy and pink on the inside. very good portion best to share.
- twin lobster noodle: there are two salty fried lobster on top of glass noodle. noodle is very flavorful, and lobsters are fresh and juicy even it's deep fried.
- Cho Lon Duck : it's very delicious crispy duck served like the Peking duck style. the skin is not as crispy as pecking duck style it's more like deep fried instead of roasted. the kumquat and pineapple is a good southeast Asian touch.
- King Crab and Uni bun : very small portion but very delicious. flavor is a bit like lobster roll topped with Uni.
- Crispy pork roll and netted chicken rolls are good, but the maine lobster roll is a bit let down.
- lemongrass ribs are probably the weakest of the dishes, it's more like the shanghainese sweet and sour pork ribs.”
