“Crown Shy, located near Wall Street in downtown Manhattan, is a remarkable Michelin-starred restaurant that seamlessly blends modern culinary innovation with subtle European and Asian influences. Each dish we sampled was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication—crafted with genuine passion and executed to perfection.
The experience began with warm, inviting bread that set the tone for the evening. The oysters were a standout, fresh and brimming with oceanic flavor. For our mains, the Branzino and pork katsu were absolute highlights. Both were beautifully cooked, with rich, nuanced flavors in the proteins themselves and the accompanying sauces that elevated each bite.
To finish, a lovely ice cream dessert brought a perfect close to an extraordinary meal. Crown Shy offers a more accessible and relaxed take on Michelin-starred dining in New York City—truly an experience I highly recommend.“

“The Japanese and Italian flavors mixed well and are to come back for. I stayed in the hotel where the restraunt was attached. In the area, with a focus of cocktails and table service for an upscale environment, it was delightful.
I love cocktails, and the servers were personable. Nothing pretentious. They focus on service and taste! Our food was excellent and the drinks were even better. It's a pleasant experience.“

“Seoul Salon is such a trendy and aesthetic restaurant and the food didn't disappoint. I'd definitely recommend making reservations because it was all packed for a Thursday dinner. To start the meal, they give this crispy ramen cracker snack with a hot sauce drizzled on top and it was so nostalgic to the snacks I used to eat when I was younger. The whole menu looked so delicious, but I ended up trying the Soy Scallop with Gim Rice, Rose Tteokbokki with Gimmari, and the Seoul Salon Fried Chicken. The soy scallops were fresh and full of flavor. The Gim rice paired perfectly with the scallops as well. The Rose tteokbokki reminded me of eating a margherita pizza because of the cheese and basil toppings with the sauce. Iloved the Gimmari that came with the dish; it was nicely fried and dipping it into the sauce was perfection. The fried chicken took me by surprise. The batter was so crispy and airy and the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The sauce had a good spice kick and it was only drizzled lightly on half of the chicken, so none of the chicken got soggy and it's great for people who can't handle the spice. Overall had a great experience at Seoul Salon. I would come back again and again.“

“Noortwyk is somewhere I keep coming back to! I’ve been with friends, with my entire team, on a date, for dinner and for brunch. It’s one of my fav spots in the west village and one that you can usually get a reservation at relatively last minute - a HUGE plus!!
For brunch I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll - ileene cho is their pastry chef who is amazing!!
For dinner I love the kale salad, bucatini, bbq duck and their parker house seeded roll with cultured butter (so good we always end up ordering two!).
I used to love their original Mille Feuille but have been disappointed by their 2.0 version which they’ve ‘deconstructed’. This no longer feels like a premium dessert/Mille Feuille but instead more a random pieces of puff pastry on top of some bananas and cream. Please bring back 1.0!! :)
Service I find is a little inconsistent - first few times I went service was very attentive, welcoming and helpful but on my most recent trip it was less so.“

“Lords was a 3.5 - 4 star experience through and through. I walked by this place one morning and decided to check it out for dinner. The food is solid, likely nothing you’ll write home about. The menu is creative and there are a lot of options for everyone, which I did appreciate.
Scotch Egg: I started with the scotch egg which was maybe the one item I was looking forward to most and I was slightly disappointed. It’s solid. If you’re curious about it, get it. But I will say I found it dry and while flavorful, fell short in the tzatziki esq sauce that accompanied it. The egg was perfectly cooked though.
Snap pea salad: if you’re looking for a refreshing salad this will do the job. The snap peas were great and so was the sheep’s cheese. The dressing maybe could’ve used some more pizzaz.
Chips: Hot, crispy, a little oily. Mine was very very salty. Overall, enjoyed.
Duck Mince Pie: I wanted to love this. It was solid, but it wasn’t great. The pastry left a little bit to be desired and for $40 you’re just kinda sitting there wondering if it was worth it. The duck was lovely though and the sauce the pie sat it was also very tasty (enjoyed dipping my chips in it).
Apple Rhubarb Crisp: Very good! Once the honey ice cream melts and the flavor comes together, this hits the spot. I appreciated that it wasn’t too sweet.
Vibes: The restaurant is decorated very cute and homey. The large bathroom has maybe the prettiest toilet seat I’ve ever seen + funny framed wall quotes by the sink. However, as other diners have said, the ambient noise level in the restaurant is quite loud, which makes it hard to hear your dinner party at times. I think they would benefit from some noise absorbing decor or better spacing some of the tables.“

“I wouldn’t call Katana a dive bar, but on a Tuesday night it felt like a great neighborhood bar. Relaxed atmosphere. Was surprised at how small it was but that added to the chill vibe. I bet on a Thirsty Thursday and the weekend that all changes, but the bartenders and the craft cocktails will be just as great.“

“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“

“I LOVE THIS BAR SO MUCH. I have been coming here forever after work and I celebrated my birthday there the other day. The staff (KC, Skai, Molly, Kate, Cyllan, Cory, literally everyone who was there) were so accommodating and made sure that my night went by smoothly. Drinks were amazing, service was fast despite it being a busy night. I reserved the back room for my lil party and it was actually perfect. Music was lit and the DJ was great. Me and my group had so much fun and it was the best birthday I’ve had in a long long long time. Absolutely spectacular.“

“I used here for lunch with a friend for restaurant week. The food is perfect. It is comfortable to stay in, the restroom is clean, service is perfect. I had a duck, it is a little bit salty for me. If the bread comes together, much better. We had a dessert and that was so nice.“

“A standout cocktail bar that offers a refreshingly unpretentious atmosphere and a deep dive into the world of Italian Amari. Despite focusing on a single core theme, the drink menu showcases remarkable diversity. Prices are fair, and the overall experience is one of the most distinctive the city has to offer.“

“The food and service is amazing. We did the a la carte menu and had the wagyu pancit and the lechon. The noodle were delicious, we could have done a second order, but we had to leave room for the pork belly with crispy skin. Drinks were amazing too. We will definitely be back.“

“Stay Away!!! Just kidding, this spot is popular and rightfully so for all the right reasons. The atmosphere is bot chill and warm for lounge lizards wanting a great watering hole. The drinks are fantastic, The Monk Fashioned being my favorite, reminds me of a magical Sazerac. The food here is delicious too, been a couple times and look forward to returning again soon. Love the Sweet And Salty Grilly with Gruyère, Prosciutto, Fig Spread, Arugula on Sour Dough. The Fonduey Mac & Cheese is also a cooze fest of cheesy goodness, also the Whipped Feta with the Everything Bagel Pretzel. Always love to get the Crab Cakes. Though I’m eyeing the Skewered Thighs for next time they look like a divine dine. Fortunately we’ve gotten in without a reservation, though I’m sure it’s good to have one.“

“I made a reservation for a group of eight at 4:30 pm, and luckily, the only available seating for larger parties was the bench near the big window—precisely where I hoped to sit. The rest of the restaurant features intimate tables for two. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with just the right amount of elegance.
We loved their cocktails, and every dish we sampled was outstanding. The service stood out as exceptional; our server was both attentive and charming. They were also very accommodating to one of my vegan friends, taking the extra step to ensure certain dishes met her dietary needs.
I highly recommend this spot if you're in search of a relaxed place to catch up with friends over delicious food and drinks.
Dietary restrictions: Plant-based options are offered.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“My husband and I were able to snag a bar seat without a ressie on a Saturday afternoon. While being ranked the number two bar in North America in 2025, it doesn’t have attitude. Everyone is super friendly and approachable. Michael was our bartender and he was so personable and fun!!
They have a nice agave selection and the drinks are so inventive and delicious.
And even though they definitely have clout and are a destination bar, they serve their neighborhood and have such a laid back vibe.
I got the “mushroom” margarita made with huitlacoche which is a fungus that grows on corn kernels in Mexico. It gives the margarita a slightly different, umami, flavor. I highly recommend!“

“We’ve now been twice and we can’t wait to go back for a 3rd time soon. Foremost, the space is so beautifully decorated. You’re really transported back to the NY speakeasy days of the early 1900s. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the Daisy’s southern bits, roaring 20s Shrimp, Chilean sea bass, lamb chops, duck vindaloo…AND coconut naan. All were perfectly executed! Lastly, and you can’t miss these…the desserts are out of control. Chocolate cake and Guava Cheesecake!! You gotta save room. Alex also provided us with top notch service. We love this place!“
