“Taiwan Pork Chop House is an absolute gem. In a city where dinner can easily spiral, this might be one of the best value meals you can find in NYC and you will leave completely full.
The pork chop is the namesake for a reason. It is flavorful, satisfying, and hits that perfect comfort food note. But the real standout for us was the salt and pepper chicken. Crispy, well seasoned, and incredibly addictive. The kind of dish where you keep reaching back in for just one more piece.
This is the spot you go to when you want to stretch your dollar without sacrificing flavor. Generous portions, no frills, just honest food that delivers every time.
Also, treat the people here kindly. The staff is warm and hardworking, and that energy makes the experience even better. Places like this are what make New York special. I love it and cannot wait to come back. 🍗💸“

“Everything’s perfect! Taiwanese Breakfast and beef noodle soup😍“
“Brooklyn Taiwanese Breakfast ||| Recently on TikTok has been pushed this Taiwanese breakfast, I saw the scallion pancake bacon egg n cheese and glutinous rice balls and said I must try it. A random Thursday in a long line (or social media marketing well done) ordered a rice ball, a scallion pancake bec, iced sweet soy milk and a red rice donut (delicious) I think the scallion pancake is a little too hard, the bacon is also on the burnt side of crispy, the texture of the dry and not imagined fluffy, but the dipping sauce is amazing. But the dipping sauce was amazing. The sticky rice dumplings were good, and the best was the red rice donut, which was fermented and tasted a bit like red wine. If you're close by, you can try Williamsburg“

“In Chelsea Market. Great service and very friendly team. The vegan soup was excellent, and the noodles… super fresh. Thank you Victor and your hard working team. Highly recommended 👏👏“

“I got the special rolls and salted egg yolk rolls. The special was good spicy mayo but the salted egg yolk was way too grainy almost unappetizing. I’ll just remember to get them with no salted egg yolk! Will be coming back. I think flavor wise win son bakery gets the upper hand but it’s way too expensive for what you get.“

“Side Notes/Mini Review- Rating is for the area (if this were in the East Village, for instance, it would be closer to a 3.) Apparently, the other location is known for Sizzling Steak, so possibly get that. Good Niu Rou Mian/Beef Noodle Soup. Tasty Pork Thick Soup/Rou Geng. Would not recommend Lu Ro Fan/Minced Pork Over Rice. Expect a wait as it gets crowded.
This is the second location of this Taiwanese spot, with the other inside the generically named New York Food Court in Flushing. The place is primarily takeout, though there are a handful of tables, and it's been pretty crowded every time I've passed by. They have a rewards program, and I've been there three times so far, and I'm a bit hesitant to go back. In terms of service, they almost dropped my bag the first time, but they've been friendly the other two times.
The first time I went, I got the Minced Pork Over Rice/Lu Ro Fan for $12, which was alright. For pros, the minced pork inside was nice and fatty, helping to flavor the rice, and I liked the pickled mustard greens. However, there wasn't much meat, and the broccoli, peas, and corn were flavorless, with the broccoli still a bit too crunchy, likely a bit undercooked. They also gave only half a tea egg, and it wasn't exactly that flavorful. I wouldn't recommend this at all.
The second time, I got the much better Premium Beef Noodle Soup/Niu Rou Mian for $15.95. The dish is well packaged with the mustard greens separated from the noodles, which are further separated from the broth, which contains the various pieces of beef. The beef had a pleasant chew as it was mostly shank and tendon, and was a decent portion for the price, especially given its location in Midtown East. The broth was pretty complex, reminding me of the now closed Four Four South Village. The noodles lacked a QQ texture, but a good amount of that was probably because it was takeout. This was good, and my favorite thing I've had here.
The third time was very recently, and I had the Pork Thick Soup/Ruo Geng, as recommended by a recent Yelp review, since I was in the mood for soup during this cold winter. The dish was added to the menu more recently and is available as a soup in two sizes ($6.50 for small/$12 for large) or is available over noodles for $16.95. I have never had this dish before, and it was interesting. There was a handful of meatballs inside, apparently made from a mix of pork, pork fat, and fish paste, with a soft texture and a bit of bounce. Otherwise, there were some potatoes, onions, and a few other ingredients in a slightly gloopy broth. The broth had a nice pepperiness, and I picked up some of their black vinegar and chili oil to make the broth more complex later. I liked this as well.
This is a tasty Taiwanese place serving some less common dishes. It's not my favorite Taiwanese spot I've been to, but it gets the job done and is very different from other spots in the area. Would try the Sha Cha next time or order their signature sizzling dishes.“

“Chinatown has so many great dumpling options, and this is one of them. Tucked away in a modest food hall, this Taiwanese food stall serves a variety of friend and boiled dumplings, and adds an egg drop soup for free with a dumplings purchase. It is no frills, but tasty.“

“Hands down my favorite spot in HK!
-Pork chop: big portion and cooked thin just how I like, comes with sides too
-braised beef & tendon soup, spicy braised beef & tendon soup, and tomato beef & tendon soup: perfect tenderness of the noodles, broth is packed with flavor, tendons are so soft, meat is tender
-popcorn chicken: delicious with the fried basil
-Wood ear mushroom: perfect chew and crunch, vinegary and refreshing
-jade cucumber: gingery and sweet, perfect to balance the fried foods and hearty soups“

“My partner and I just ate here today it's reeeally heckin' good. The chicken cutlets are huge and the Original spice is just the right amount of sweet, and even the standard fries have delicious seasoning. The sweet potato fries are divine. Their boba is also top tier, with my favorite consistency of boba pearls (super soft). The s'mores mochi donut was really good, too!“

“This place has amazing tasting food for amazing price. My colleague who knows the area well broguht me here for lunch. It is fast Chinese but the taste was pretty darn good. I had #1 pork chop with the egg and it was just $8. You cannot find such price in the city. The kind lady kept pouring me tea which was pretty nice of her. If i lived by I would probably frequent it. I do want to return to try the fried chicken legs.“

“Miss home, so searched up solid taiwanese spot. The pan-fried dumping 鍋貼 ("guo-tie") was exactly how I needed it to be. The popcorn chicken was not as salty as I thought and had a thicker coating than the other ones I have tried in other restaurants. Overall, I was very happy to have visited.
Coming back for the dumplings again.“

“Owen and the staff were all fantastic. Patrick at the bar was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely return each time I'm in NYC. Everything was amazing. Pork dumplings, chocolate dumplings with the sea salt foam, and their signature shochu sesame espresso martini are an absolute must. I'll be dreaming of them until next time.“
