“Great bar and the food looked really good also. Will have to come back for dinner sometime for sure! We didn't have reservations after the NYC marathon, so we winged it and sat at the bar for drinks after dinner because the outside was so pretty!”
“This was my first time at Nobu and it certainly did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I did the omakase tasting which I highly recommend. Our server, Rafaella, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, Nobu experience, and wine pairings for what we ordered, as well as very friendly. Every dish we ordered was delicious and fresh. Nobu definitely lives up to its name!”
“Unique is unique! They truly have some of my favorite food in the neighborhood. Pick-up and delivery service provide a quick and pleasant experience. Drunken noodles are the best I’ve had in NY. Slow cooked pork tastes tender and homemade every time. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone!”
“The beef bulgogi kimbap and bb rice bowl was delicious. Server was super friendly and labeled which order did not contain egg (one of our party was allergic). The outside seating area is not large (~15 or so seats). There is a wooden roof with 4 sides and well ventilated, with a view out to the street. Thanks so much for a lovely meal ❤︎”
“For New York ramen, this place is very good. I liked how tender the pork was in the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth had a high level of richness and lots of flavor. I wish there were other lighter broth options to try like a shio or shoyu broth with meat rather than just miso vegetarian. Appetizers seem expensive here. The environment was very fun and could accommodate single diners at the bar.”
“Great vegan Korean food! The place is very spacious, it can fit in many people. They have vegan sushi, sushi kabobs, roti canai, and other hallmarks of an Asian fusion restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt. The best part of the meal were the bulgogi and the scallion pancakes. They also have an amazing House Sake! Definitely recommend but it's a tad bit on the pricey side”
“Atoboy is so good! Aside from the food which is amazing, the staff are probably the most friendly, kind and approachable in a higher end restaurant like this. You immediately feel comfortable and taken care of. Back to the food. The menu changes seasonally and really is great. It’s best to go with three people so you can try everything. The fried chicken is a winner. It’s amazing. The desserts are a must and are one of the best dishes they have.”
“Walk past after my haircut and wanted some poke. I was suggested the miso salmon poke. Two seats in the seating area with an industrial fan. A low key spot but worth it for a quick bite. Fish was fresh and sauce is yummy. Spent a total of $17 with tip!”
“Really enjoyed the barbecue experience at the table. We had the meat lovers option and the selection of steaks was varied and tasty. Very generous portions and great value for money. Only downside was they didn't have any red wine - very strange to run out!”
“You will have to take out a mortgage to dine here, but in an aspirational dining sense, you get what you pay for. Unmatched quality of food, service, and atmosphere that is more than deserving of the two michelin stars.I would only warn you that only get the 10 course if you're hungry. It's deceptive in how much food it is.”
“LOVE LOVE LOVE. We've been here to dine in for a few times now and have also ordered for delivery. I'd say dine in is much better of course. The flavors are beyond. It is not for anyone who only likes white chicken breasts, but rather a place for all the senses in a really authentic way.”
“Took my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner as she loves any kind of fancy Asian food. I made the reservation through Resy and noted that it was her birthday. While most restaurants don't really do much beyond maybe provide a little candle and a card (which is still cute), the staff at Tuome really went above and beyond to make it a special night. They gave us a small appetizer on the house, which was a fun bite size play on scallion pancakes. They also gave us a complimentary dessert and candle after our meal which is always appreciated and was a nice surprise. Beyond all the extra stuff though, the food itself is just amazing. The crispy deviled eggs were a delicious appetizer, and the "Pig Out" for two was a proper showstopper. I've eaten at a ton of fancy places in New York, and sometimes it gets difficult to differentiate places as they all do similar dishes really well. However, the Pig Out was something so different and unique it truly stood out. The dish features bites of pork that are super crispy and smoky on top, but have the soft, melty texture of shredded pork inside. And the flavors were insane - smoky, umami, slightly sweet, and with a good acidic spice added from the sauce. I've really never had anything quite like it before. That dish alone bumps Tuome into one of my top recommendations for NYC. Then you add in the fact that the wine was also delicious and that service was fantastic - our waitress was smoothly sliding in with water and wine refills without us ever needing to lift a finger. This is one of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given.Tl;dr - get the Pig Out for two, get a good bottle of syrah with it. Enjoy, because it's fantastic food with fantastic service. 5/5”
“5 stars across the board. I've been to its sister in Miami a bunch of times all in one trip to Miami bc it was incredible. I didn't want to eat anywhere else. Well, now I have NYC place to feel the same way about. Outstanding.Vegetarian options: Vegan. Nut dishes clearly labeledDietary restrictions: All vegan & mostly GF. Nut dishes clearly labeled”
“Highly recommend for brunch. $55 for prix fixe and all you can drink is just a great deal. The food throughout was elevated and made good on the promise of brunch food with an Asian twist that is a risky promise. Interior was kind of a weird vibe especially entering and wish they had bigger tables but will definitely be back here. The mochi pancakes with kimchi jam and the poached egg were particular stand outs. Had 5 cocktails for $25.”
“I had an incredible time celebrating my significant other. I’m a vegan and he’s a carnivore but we were both able to enjoy a delicious meal. The appetizers were a perfect portion size to share or enjoy individually. The entrees are delectable and large. The rice was such a large portion size that my significant other and I were able to share one order of rice. The dessert was my favorite part of the entire meal. Normally restaurants don’t have vegan dessert options, especially not high quality dessert options for vegans but Buddakan went above and beyond to happily surprise me with a mango treat. My s/o and I fine dine regularly but this was one of my favorite dining experiences ever. The ambiance is awesome and the service is top tier. I would only suggest adding additional bathroom stalls on the first floor and/or have a sign to notify people of the additional restrooms on the lower level.Vegetarian options: I was happily impressed by the array of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.Dietary restrictions: They accommodate vegan and vegetarian dietary restrictions.”
“Hands down the poshest Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Shame to order take out from here when the owner clearly put alot of thought into the decor. Its a lovely place for a first date with delicious food. I was pleasantly suprised by the menu, which included vegan, street and cozy food.”
“So glad we stopped in. I tried the shakshuk and it was the something different I absolutely needed- delicious! Our host/bartender/waiter Sam didn't miss a beat even though he was handling the entire front end of the restaurant on his own. Everything was served with a smile, great conversation and timely. This is the kind of restaurant I seek out when in the city-great ambiance, wonderful staff and delicious food and drinks.”
“Definitely a nice little spot in Hell's Kitchen. The day I went was a little warm inside but other than that its clean and is a nice atmosphere. The Dolsot (hot stone bowl) bimbimbap had crispy rice at the bottom from the hot stone. I love all the veggies that come in this bowl. Once mixed in with the Bulgogi (which is the protein I got) and the sauce that is given on the side the combination is powerful. I also got the Kimchi Fried rice which was my first time getting that dish. My protein of choice was buldak which was chicken that had its own little seasoning. Kimchi Fried rice was really well made. I like how the Kimchi's sourness is reduced when cooked. I also got the Yang Yum (sweet and spicy sauce) chicken nuggets. I personally would've liked for the sauce to have a little bit more of a kick but it was still enjoyable. This place serves big portions and for the price, it's a win. It was one man show when I came in. Even though he was the only one serving that night, he was always attentive.”
“Not a bad Sushi spot in the west village. Stumbled upon this place after visiting the Whitney Museum. Order the rock shrimp for apps and an assortment of house special sushis. Overall, the food was great. Nice little cozy place as well for a nice dinner date.”
“Food was amazing but the service was not good. Maybe because it was a busy Saturday night (shouldn’t be an excuse). Reservations for 8:00pm to dine in turned out to be 9:00 dine outside. Mind you it was my birthday reservation. Didn’t get the birthday cake experience. Food took long to arrive outside which was served cold. Overall food was delicious but I wish we were treated better. The entrance was crowded an absolute chaos. Won’t come to this location again.”
“Went to Calle Dao (Chelsea location) for a late dinner with friends. It Cuban-Asian fusion food. The drinks were pretty amazing. Mango Mojito was great. Papas Rellenas is a small but heavy appetizer. Garlic Shrimp was tasty and had a nice kick to it.Our servers were friendly and informative and were able to recommend food and drinks to everyone's liking. The vibe is pretty chill. Definitely recommend! Great place for foodies who are into trying new things but aren't too adventurous yet.”
“Really great food. Not just your average take on Vietnamese food. I wanted to try everything on the menuLong list of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks too!Extremely reasonably priced for what we got!Vegetarian options: The portobello steamed buns were incredible”
“I went here for my friend birthday. The atmosphere was intimate. I loved the decor. I ordered the lobster spring roll and the rock shrimp tempura. I also had the car side drink, which was actually good. My server was IVO! Very professional. Polite. I will be coming back!!”
“This place is a fantastic cocktail bar! ? Helen's has an incredible selection of delicious ? cocktails ? - definitely get the Rain ?️ It In and Espresso ☕ Martini! Staff ?? is friendly and the service is quick. ⏲️ They have plenty of indoor seating , the ambience ? is fantastic, playlist ▶️ has epic 90's and 2000's music ?, and the place is beautifully decorated. ?️ I wish I knew about this place earlier!”
“The chashu (roasted pork belly) is fire ? They pan fry it a bit before serving it and it’s super tender, almost melt in your mouth. Good portion size for those who don’t want to overeat, and you can get a decent amount of vegetables. If I had to say a couple ways it could be better? I feel like last time i went it was super salty, now it’s just a little too salty. Maybe more high-protein options?”
“Briancantstopeating suggested checking out this place. As a resident of the area myself, I have to say I was genuinely impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the delectable food. I've already visited three times. My personal favorite is the Crispy Fish Bowl and Crispy Chicken Bowl paired with the refreshing Thyme Tea. If you happen to be in Harlem, make sure to give it a shot! You won't regret it.”
“is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience. If you’re looking for a fantastic lunch option that’s both delicious and interactive, look no further. The real BBQ experience at your table is something truly special.During lunchtime, Gyu-Kaku offers a fantastic menu that’s perfect for a midday meal. What sets it apart is the opportunity to grill your own meat right at your table. It’s like having your very own BBQ pit, complete with a variety of marinated meats and veggies to choose from. The sizzling sounds and mouthwatering aromas make this lunch outing unlike any other. The staff is always there to assist if needed, ensuring you get the most out of your BBQ adventure. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a unique lunch date, Gyu-Kaku is a place where food and fun come together. Don’t miss out on this delightful culinary journey!”
“Eastern/Asian inspired menu in dimly lit, earthy colored digs. Dishes are broken into apps/small plates and medium plates, so it's nice to mix and match dishes. There are no large entrees.I had the short rib fried wontons, which were crispy on the outside and full of juicy meat on the inside. I also had the roast duck spring rolls, which weren't bad, but didn't live up to the flavors on the menu (carrot, ginger, scallion, bok choy, sweet chili aioli). For my medium dish I had the udon noodles with chicken. The chicken was forgettable, but the noodles and vegetables were pleasantly spicy.I didn't have dessert, but their pineapple upside down cake, vanilla cheesecake, and gelato all looked delicious. This spot also has bao buns, fried rice, chicken and shrimp based dishes, and a few other basics. The cocktails are inventive and refreshing. I had a couple that were fruity, but not too sweet. They also have some cocktails with a hint of spice.Service was excellent. My server's name was Alex. He was attentive, sociable, made knowledgeable recommendations.Would definitely come again for these small plates and cocktails.”
“Our food was amazing. We got the Samosas, chicken chow mein, lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tikka masala, and a Nepali bahadi lamb dish…I can’t even explain to you how tender all the meat was. The spices were fresh and very flavorful. The spice levels (heat) of the dishes were customizable and came out perfectly. We came as 4 adults and 5 children under 7 and the hosts were so gracious to our group. We will absolutely be back!Dietary restrictions: We have a few dairy dietary restrictions that the servers were very willing to accommodate with specially prepared individual meals!”
“As an Vietnamese, I can say they have worked hard on making the food as authentic as possible. The food was made and decorated for serving in a restaurant rather than just simple local food. I highly valued the creativity and upgrades. Don't get me wrong. The food was pretty delicious in its own way and the cocktails were dope too. However, it was pretty pricey. It makes sense when the spot is located in the city and with a beautifully fancy environment. It doesn't hurt for experience but to get full we gotta pay roughly $100 for a meal.Additionally, another minus here was some kinds of bugs flying around our food and drinks during the dine-in. Dunno where they came from and it was annoying.”
“Very friendly and great presentation. The food speaks for itselfDietary restrictions: I'm allergic to crustaceans (shrimp, crab and Lobster) and they were able to make accommodations for me.Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Just my own opinion from the main entrance to the store, the high top chairs and the high tabletop.”
“I ordered The Sweet, the classic banh mi, the baseline banh mi by which to judge all banh mis and this place can bring it! They were inspired (according to an article I read) by their first experience having Vietnamese sandwiches from under the Manhattan Bridge, which is where I had my first and the place that I keep returning to (now moved to a roomier location on Grand St) for both my memory and measurement of what a proper banh mi ought to be. Joju's banh mi has the same delicious flavors, slightly more refined. The pickled carrot/daikon salad is chopped more finely and flavored more subtly and there is enough that you get a taste in every bite. The meats are nice and salty and also amply packed so that no single flavor is lost. A great sandwich that improves on the original (with the price to show for it, but is typical for midtown Manhattan). The in store ordering system is efficient (giant iPad) and my order came out pretty quick when I ordered a little after noon on a weekday.”
“I come here for lunch most three days a week. It's fast, delicious, and very reasonably priced. I tried most of the dishes on the menu, and I was never disappointed. I am so happy to find this reliable place. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. One time, I needed to charge my phone, and they brought me a charger so I could use my phone while charging it. I definitely recommend this place.”
“Centrally located in Manhattan, New York, Chop-Shop offers a pleasant atmosphere for those appreciating Pan-Asian cuisine. The food is enjoyable, with an emphasis on prompt service that ensures your dishes arrive without delay. For those partial to a spicy meal, Chop-Shop stands out as a fantastic choice for lunch. It's a significant spot on the city's culinary map, not just for its convenient location, but also for the appealing menu and the dedicated staff committed to quality service.”
“Ordered delivery through Uber eats: fried dumplings, soup dumplings, twice cooked pork, spicy Chinese broccoli. All truly superb and authentic. Dumplings, although not really Szechuan, were excellent with thin delicate wrapper and flavorful filling. Soup dumplings as well were surprisingly good. Thin wrappers, still hot, really well done. Twic cooked pork, a more authentic Szechuan dish was a traditional preparation with leeks and some hot peppers. A terrific rendition that I’d definitely order again. But the star of the show was the broccoli. Beautifully cooked, tender and spiced perfectly with a touch of Szechuan peppercorn and some spice, true to MaLa. Bravo!!!!”
“I made a reservation two days in advance for a birthday celebration and got placed in the best table of the restaurant. Decoration and ambiance is really cool. I recommend the glazed walnut chicken, the fried chicken appetizer and the pork soup dumpling. The sushi we ordered was basic avocado and salmon or tuna, which was ok. The pork bun was also ok. This is a great place if you want variety like Thai, Cantonese or Japanese. The service is excellent. The prices are great.”
“Front of house staff slightly unwelcoming, but all other staff were nice. Food was really good. Not a huge steak eater so went for fish - which was expertly filleted for me. Lovely ambiance and great to see how busy it was. Would def return.”
“Steam is a cool place. I have eaten here about 5 times now and haven’t been disappointed once. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is really good; I have tried the eggplant, mapo tofu, vegetable fried rice, hot and sour soup, beef shumai, a few other things and the black gold lava buns….. which are so good! The menu has a lot of unique dishes to choose from while also offering some classics and comfort dishes. The black gold lava buns are so pretty to look at, the dough is a beautiful charcoal colour, which I think comes from black sesame seed because there is a really nice texture in the dough. The inside is a beautifully mixed liquid deliciousness custard type decadence that isn’t too sweet and has that classic egg yolk flavour. The pricing could be cheaper, but the quality of the food justifies the cost.I highly recommend Steam”
“I was working a gig in NYC, and I was on my way to a different restaurant for dinner when I stumbled upon NoodleLove. A half hour before they closed and I asked if they were still serving food. The best customer service so far that I've had in New York. Steven was the best! Steven said, of course, and was very helpful in helping me decide. I want to eat more vegetarian and vegan options, and both Steven and Google recommended the Royal Japchae. It is absolutely delicious! Even if you're not vegan. When the chef is a great chef, they understand how to cook vegan food. If you want great vegan and vegetarian options, this place is wonderful and the hospitality of the staff is great!. I took my food to go, unfortunately. But the atmosphere is beautiful and the music is catchy..Vegetarian options: All the vegan options are marked with a green leaf. I had the Royal Japchae. It's vegan and happens to be gluten free.”
“To start off this place is so beautifully designed - such a beautiful place to take pictures in. Now this is the first place I’ve ever heard it’s all you can eat sushi and hot pot. Best combooo !! The hot pot soup bases were so good but my favorite would have to be the tomato beef brisket pot. The meats were all very fresh and gave huge portions of it. The sushi was very delightful and was nicely presented - we got the angry dragon roll and the mummy roll. We got sides of edamame, seaweed salad, and takoyaki - which was all very delicious. The staff gave such amazing service & were super friendly! This place will make it a memorable dinner.”
“Food: There are a lot of options when it comes to food and drinks. There are so many veggie rolls to pick from and they even made something off menu for my husband. I got the veggie tempura roll and it was so yummy. They actually had all types of veggies in it and it was perfectly crispy. We got 2 appetizers there - the veggie gyoza and the scallion pancake. The scallion pancakes were delicious and perfectly flavored. I will say that the veggie gyoza tasted like all others I've had at other restaurants, good but not excellent. There are a few other veggie apps I definitely plan to try when we go back. My husband got an off menu avocado peanut roll. This is one of the few sushi places where I felt like they didn't skimp on the avocado or peanuts. The drinks menu looked delicious but we weren't really feeling like alcohol so we got a pot of tea. The tea comes in this beautiful pot with very nice cups. We're big tea drinkers and are pretty specific about our teas and their jasmine tea was very nice - beautiful blend of different flavors. This whole pot of premium jasmine tea was $3!? We were stunned!Service: The staff is very friendly and the service is very fast even when they are really busy.Ambiance: This place is so cute. I love the theme, it feels very modern but comfortable at the same time. It's great spot for dates or small groups. All their dishware and glassware was so beautiful and perfectly in theme with the restaurant.Price: The prices are very reasonable and I was very surprised at the amount of food we were able to get for less than $40 for 2 people. We got 2 appetizers, 2 sushi rolls, and a big pot of tea. Bonus: Unlike most places, they didn't charge us extra for sriracha or spicy mayo.Overall, this was such an amazing dining experience. I am so grateful it's in our local neighborhood so we can keep coming back. Our favorite sushi place closed down post COVID so we are ecstatic to have found Ikyu.If you found this review helpful, please let me know :)Also, add me on Instagram: @TheShahLALandVegetarian options: Great veggie options!”
“Amazing food amazing location not my first not my last. Although waiting 30 minutes past my reservation wasn't expected a little better next time please and whilst I appreciate music a little less volume I was there to meet with friends to chat catch up and enjoy each others company but the volume of the music caused raised voices so the loudness in the restaurant was a little over bearing”
“Really good Shanghainese food, definitely best in the area. All their dumplings they do really well. Soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings with the crispy skirt, seared pork buns... all delicious. Their scallion oil noodles are also really good. Usually other places end up being bland but these are super flavorful and lots of scallion flavor. Very sweet service too, all shanghainese staff/chefs so you know it's authentic.”
“Toasties is one of my go to places during work hours especially at the 49th St location. When I heard that they opened a new location at W 43rd St, I just had to stop by.There's a wide selection of food and drinks as expected. Toasties 43 also has a signature rice bowl menu which is a nice touch (I'm definitely ordering this next time)! The dining area is pretty roomy, but it does get packed on early busy hours.Anyway, I ordered my usual breakfast sandwiches, and as always, they're made and cooked fresh! My ordered cappuccino was alright (could be a tad bit stronger). Overall, Toasties 43 has great potential, and I can't wait to dine again!”
“Walked in on Sunday afternoon. This is a fast food spot, set up looks like a chipotle in the way that they have all their ingredients on the counter behind a glass pane. All their bowls are named after big asian cities. There are two sizes, small and original. I ordered the bangkok (original size). The bowl mainly consists of mangoes, A LOT of shrimp, and a lot of rice. The sauce was pretty good but a little spicy. I dont know how they prepared the shrimp, it was curled so i know it was cooked but it also had a soft bite and texture, almost like it wasnt cooked through. The color was also a little translucent but i havent had any issues with it. I feel fine. The interior is well-lit with a good amount of seating. The tables are small, a medium brown which lends to a warmth in the space. Service was quick. For a healthy fast food spot this is very decent. I would return if i was in the area and looking for a quick bite that was relatively healthy. I wish there were more vegetables in the bowl. That is the main reason i dropped a star. Good value though considering how much shrimp they gave me. I did finish everything except the rice in one sitting and was quite full after.”
“Came here with a gf on a Tuesday afterwork, it's such a chill place. The music, food, drinks and have really hip vibes. They have insane happy hour specials. $1 wings, ALL DAY! I think we had over 20 wings lol. We've been here quite a few times and have tried all their cocktails by now. They're soooooo good. Favorite bar in NYC. Ask for Chad, he's the best and always made sure we were having a good time and really took care of us.”
“Food, the people and the deco is on top ! Yeah , it's just so cozy the owner knows what people love .... Will go there whenever I need Thai food ,, just couldn't drink bcoz am expecting but from far I could see some nice cocktails waahh, l”
“First time here and it did not disappoint! I came with 8 co-workers/friends to celebrate a special occasion and it was the perfect spot to do just that. We all had the best experience due in LARGE part to our incredible server Sari. She did all the stuff you’d expect from a great server but she also had a personality, a killer sense of humor and was an absolute blast to spend our night with! We felt totally taken care of and appreciated her honesty with which dishes she recommended and which we could skip. She had our trust immediately. The interior of this place + the playlist really set it off and made the night extra special.I only eat fish so I enjoyed the crispy rice, fried rice, Shishido, peppers, and several other sides. Everything was perfect! Including all the different sauces they serve. Plenty here for a vegetarian or pescatarian! The meat eaters enjoyed kobe and those sliders. Drinks were on point and the rest of the supporting waitstaff and servers were lovely and so patient with us as we were a loud and somewhat high maintenance group :)We will 100% be back and can’t wait!!”
“I don’t know why this place isn’t more crowded on weekdays for lunch. The $15 lunch special comes with soup and entree and food is really good here! We had the hot and sour soup to start. Perfect blend of heat from the chilis and the vinegary goodness… complete with some pickled veg. For lunch we had the mapo and Buddhas delight to split. Both were really tasty and healthy portions (took some home). The Buddhas delight had a fantastic assortment of veg including snow fungus and wood ear mushrooms which I love! The lunch special is a great deal, but also the food here is just solid, and worth spending the extra money for dinner too.”
“The food here is pretty good but it is a little expensive for my taste. They have really interesting flavors so I would recommend to go and try them out at least once. I got a sweet and spicy tofu burger and a hibiscus tea (a combo) for about $17.37,Vegetarian options: This place is mostly vegetarian or vegan.”
