About 886

886 is a Taiwanese street food restaurant known for its small bites and rice bowls, offering several vegetarian options and accommodating various dietary needs. The facility is moderately clean, and the staff displays remarkable kindness. Although not authentic Taiwanese, it offers a fun twist on traditional Taiwanese foods. Notable dishes include the popcorn chicken—a must-order with its crispy crunchy exterior and moist tender interior—as well as the Hakka stir fry with pork and tofu, pea shoots, and seaweed fries with kewpie mayo sauce. The beef noodle soup has a delightful flavor, though the noodles can be a bit thick and doughy. Prices are reasonable for Manhattan standards, making it a likely choice for repeat visits. The ambiance is perfect, and the service is quick, especially with the young crowd. While parking can be challenging, and it's not wheelchair accessible, it is kid-friendly and accepts credit cards.
