“Absolutely awesome hideen French Bistro is inside La Marqueta.Chef Edward and his team create mouthwatering dishes and great French pastries. One of the great dishes is their Bacalao Pie, which uses dried cod fish from Mama Grace & Nana down the hall. She's been here for over 30 years and sells a variety of dried fish. The pie is a dish the chef ate growing up in France. The fish is soaked overnight, boiled, shredded and mixed with butter, olive oil, garlic, scallions, and potatoes, baked and voila! This comforting dish is Brandade de Morue in French.Reminds me of a Shepherd's pie or like a gratin. It's warm, comforting and just a touch salty, chunks of fish and potato—really delicious!I also had the Croque Monsieur, a couple of great quiches and fresh croissants. I've been here 4 times already! They have great dishes for brunch on weekends.Don't skip on pastries like a great banana bread, lots of French cookies and treats.“

“Great local bistro. We were at Mila's Bistro on a relatively busy Sunday evening and had a nice dinner. Started with the Tuna Tartare which was solid. For entrees we had the Duck Confit, Salmon, Pasta Bolognese and the Steak Au Poivre - all good with the Duck Confit perhaps standing out the most. Friendly service and reasonable prices - worth finding when in the area!“

“In 2018, my ex at the time and I broke up and I left public accounting to pursue a not so toxic and happier moment in industry. I decided to join Equinox as a way to make myself got to the gym. If you are spending $200+ a month on membership, you end up going to at least break even.. I took a boxing class and met a bunch of like-minded women and we've been friends ever since. However, life took its course and we all got busy with work, personal, or work and person that we do not take classes together anymore... After a long time, some of us decided to meet up for a brunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Someone suggested this place so we went here since the east side of the city is more convenient than the west for us. I pass this area every week to go boxing, but it is tucked away in a small street to be seen. It was a bit "hard" to find, but it is such a cute little roustic place. The girls got the lamb chops because it was recommended by a mutual friend and I got mussels escargot style. My mussels were fine, but oh my gracious, the lamb was the best I've ever had. There was one partially eaten lamb and I had to take it home. French onion soup was fine, but by the time it came to us, the cheese solidified and it seems they burnt the cheese a bit. A bit bitterness from the cheese. However, the soup itself had such good flavor. For dessert, we had creme brulee. Good custard, but the sugar on top needed more melting. We were crunching on the semi melted sugar bits. Cocktails were delicious ! I got the Place Vendome because 1. vodka 2. it has the restaurant's name. Duh! Boy after two or three, did it creep up on me. I will 100% go back here and get the lamb. It comes with a potato gratin and a side salad I think? The best lamb chops I had ever! Super impressed and I am trying to find reasons to go back there! Highly recommend.“

“The place is cute and very cozy, but prices are high. Food is tasty but needs to get quicker to the table. Food is served in a gourmet like style but bigger portions. Coffee is served beautifully 5 stars for that little detail. Other than that, the place is good and pleasant to be in. Will not choose to go back for the simple reason of the high prices.“

“A shoutout to Effy's Kitchen on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. Recently I’ve taken to looking on the web for restaurants not far from my son’s and daughter’s-in-law apartment and ordering some food specialties to have delivered to them every once in a while. (I moved to Italy four years ago) I know with so many things still locked down in NYC that smiles can get a bit tough to come by. I’ve found spots that have come through with good treats like sweet-potato fries and onion rings, Burrata and Prosciutto with truffle spread on pane carasau, prosecco, special cocktails, craft Pilsners and so on. Last week I did a search for Fish and Chips in the area, found three or four places and came across Effy’s. My son and his wife are super-fans of London and had missed out on a trip there in May so I figured it could be something they’d enjoy — and hopefully buoy their spirits. My only hesitancy was whether their Fish and Chips would be really good and even get CLOSE to what they’ve enjoyed on trips to London. I took a flyer on Effy’s and placed the order for two portions to be delivered as their dinner Friday night. It was delivered on time — and what a great feeling to get their messages afterward: “Oh my gosh it was so good! Thank you. I can't believe how fast I ate it. Lol. Honestly up there with one of the best fish and chips.” And “The fish and chips were amazing. We ate way too fast. It was different with a bunch of smaller pieces as opposed to one large piece but that actually probably helped it stay crisper, less greasy and hotter. We will definitely keep this one in our records.” A Dad who lives an ocean away can only do so much in practical ways, so seeing all this made me really smile. Thanks to Effy’s Kitchen for making it happen as well as I could’ve hoped.“

“ (seasoned to the gawds)Got here a bit early for our reservation, got carded, and was seated at a very empty bar (no patrons or bartender) to wait for the rest of my party. Apparently, the doorman/valet was responsible for drinks at this bar.Once my party arrived, we were taken to the second floor where they sat us in a makeshift section to accommodate our group of 7. We were constantly bumpedv into because, being make shift, we took away the "corridor" that was there, but somehow, still used resulting in us being bumped into frequently.Their food (tho!) was GREAT. I got steak, eggs, and bacon. Steak was seasoned to the gawds, eggs were great, bacon tasted a bit undercooked. But still REALLY good. The drink (rum punch) tasted watery, which meant that after the 90-minute window of drinking, I was not tipsy.Music was excessively loud, but that might've been because I'm old (lol) - they played a lot of great songs and regularly shouted out birthday celebrants.I expected this place to be terrible but I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The wait staff were so attentive and accommodating (which honestly bumped my review and the food was great..Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I think it might be more suited for a young(er) crowd but overall it was decent experience.“
