It seems that nearly everything is prepared to order, and as a result if coming here you should be prepared to possibly wait longer than most restaurants for your food to be ready.
I do wish there was a way for the restaurant to communicate this to avoid problems with new customers who may be expecting quicker service.“

“I booked the Naughty Dessert Decorating Class for me and my partner, and I'm so glad I did! The experience itself was fantastic.
Austin hosted the class, he was patient and thorough in explaining the decorating process, and he made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. We had the option to decorate different shaped and flavored cookies, as well as a waffle of our choice. Overall, I highly recommend this class it's perfect for a fun date or a unique activity with friends. We had a blast and will definitely be back!“

“Diner vibe. Friendly, helpful servers. Very few tables available at 8pm on a Monday.

We had the burnt broccoli, the TFT (fried tofu) and the Superiority Burger. The highlight for us was the delicious burger. Tasted like a real hamburger at a diner or fast food place. The tofu sandwich was also great. Tangy and crispy. The broccoli was a little too smoky for our palette.

They gave us some Hawaiian Punch and Labneh flavored gelato to try for dessert. Very nice.

The restaurant blends Buddhist philosophy with royal vegetarian cuisine inspired by the Qing Palace. It was my first time trying a full vegetarian tasting menu, and I was impressed by how flavorful and creative every dish was. The mushroom dishes stood out the most, especially the Stichotas japonicus with cucumber sauce, the pan-seared boletus with green millet, and the Nepal mushroom quinoa with pepper sauce. Each course felt balanced and intentional—low oil, low sugar, and focused on natural taste. Even traditional dishes like Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and zhajiang noodles were reimagined beautifully. The dessert, called “Nectar of the Core,” was light and refreshing. Dining at Bodai feels like a calm, thoughtful journey through color, texture, and flavor. If you’re looking for an elevated vegetarian meal in NYC, this is worth a visit.“

“From the outside, one might think this a food hall of sorts. Its definitely more of a hub for food delivery services. There were countless pickup orders and, including us, 2 other tables that came to sit and eat. The atmosphere has grande ceilings with floor to ceiling windows with bar seating running along and maybe 8 tables. There are hard-copy menus and touchscreen stations to order but the choices are countless; resulting in a time consuming firt-timer experience. There's 1 kitchen that pumps out separate restaurant menu items. The food was ok. I got a Mexican-style chicken bowl that was crossed with another restaurants curry chicken; bites here and there were different. My husband got an Asian-style chicken fried rice bowl that came out cold. 2nd attempt was saturated in sesame oil and inedible. We didn't realize it at the time but Amex Gold got rid of Goldbelly, replaced by Wonder; big mistake in our opinion as Goldbelly is worldwide and Wonder is limited to big-city access for a lesser quality product.“

“We used Thomas Oliver's Gourmet Catering back in March and I truly do not have one bad thing to say about them. The staff was impeccable and took over a lot of the setup, which was so refreshing. They helped me with tasks that were not even directly related to the catering, and they had a smile on their face the whole time. They had great attitudes and really helped light up the space. “Chef David and his team were great, we hired them to do a 22 person dinner party and they were excellent from start to finish. They arrived early to prep and helped setup tables and chairs, bringing a team of 6 or 7 people with them. Our building has a grill area and they cooked the entire meal on the grill, fresh bread, steaks etc and people couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was. Some of the best catered food I’ve had at any event and I won’t hesitate to hire them again. They are professional, timely the team is great all around. You will be so impressed with the food and experience .“

“This review is long overdue. However, we are glad we waited because seven (7) months later, we are STILL getting rave reviews from our friends and families about the food at our wedding! We had a VERY difficult venue that required all of our vendors to submit referrals and agree to a multitude of specific rules. Our original caterer cancelled two (2) months out from our wedding date (after a year of planning). We did not know what to do! They had already been approved and accepted by our venue. We were devastated! KRISP quickly reviewed the menu / pricing we had negotiated and budgeted with that caterer. They were SO reassuring, and offered us MORE options for a lower cost. We could not believe it! After experiencing an incredible tasting at their gorgeous venue, we were SOLD! THE FOOD IS UNREAL, seriously! When we were low on alcohol, they ran to the store to ensure that our guests would not notice any lapse! They even secured and stored our cake topper for months after our wedding! Despite coming on board with less than 2 months to prepare, KRISP navigated a VERY difficult venue, provided incredible service and kept all the stress out of our site! If you don't scoop them up while you can, your event will not be as good as it could have been.“

Menu is not so overwhelming, and does not include superfluous filler wordings which is very convenient, especially if you’re pressed for time during your lunch breaks. Simple straight forward ingredients listed and are always fresh. The sushi chef makes your food right in front of you. Layout is high chairs with high tables, a row of chairs at the window sill table, three family tables and two for couples. Very close to the transportation hub that is Grand Central, if you’re traveling and just want a quick bite or work in the area. They know my name by now, which is embarrassing, but it’s always nice when places remember their clientele.“
