“Once their Shabbos meals used to be 2 barbecue chickens and side salads, barley and mushrooms. $14.95. I bought four of these meals put them overnight in crockpots and fed my shul a great Sabbath meal. Inflation has made it impossible. The chicken is great and all of the prepared foods are wonderful. After about 5 min of browsing, we decided on the Tuna Salad, which is served with sliced jalapeños and a spicy shrimp paste. It's got some heat, but nothing a Mexican from Chicago cant handle! “My daughter’s wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Atrium last weekend was absolute perfection! Even though the pouring rain moved the ceremony indoors, I can’t imagine how it could have been any lovelier outdoors.

I loved that once we realized wedding day rain was inevitable, we didn’t have to worry, because we knew the professionals at Union Square events had a great game plan. The way their team was able to shift cocktail hour into the hallway and use a moveable wall to provide a backdrop to the ceremony, while allowing the dining tables to be preset yet hidden, was really impressive. I was really glad that we had opted to bring in some dramatic lighting and disco ball decor (provided by Universal Light and Sound) to make the space cozier and prettier, as the Atrium can look a little bare with only overhead lighting.

We got so many compliments on all the food and beverages, from the passed apps, to the custom cocktails to the perfectly prepared beef entrees. Everything was much better than the tasting night had led us to expect, which makes sense when you consider the number of dishes they are preparing for the tasting night. Everything we tried that night was fine, but I thought the food might not be a highlight of the wedding - what a wonderful surprise to be so wrong about that! I also appreciated the bar staff’s willingness to use the custom cocktail stirrers I had made of the bride’s and groom’s heads - they were a huge hit with our guests and a fun surprise for the couple!

I really appreciated that there was a dedicated attendant for the bride and groom in their dressing room, who made sure they each got to try all the canapes and brought them water, champagne, and even a black tea when the bride needed a little caffeine. Every single staff member we interacted with was professional, kind, and extremely good at their jobs. Thank you all for making our daughter’s wedding an epic celebration!“

“Chef Matthew set up an amazing space, with amazing food, and amazing service. I contacted him about a private dinner with my family for my wife's birthday. I expressed to him my desire to make a special evening for her, but taking into consideration that COVID is still an issue, and that we wanted to keep away from other people as much as possible. He provided me with a menu that had multiple options that all fell within the requirements I provided. It was extremely difficult to narrow down the choices because EVERYTHING on the menu sounded AMAZING! He listened to everything I said, and absolutely knocked it out of the park! Everything Chef Matthew made for us was so delicious... there were NO leftovers, at all.The space is absolutely beautiful. The dining area looked amazing. There's a comfortable lounge area at the rear of the loft where my family and I were able to relax prior to dinner being served. Just as a point of information, the space is so beautiful, that we were able to have a photographer come for a photoshoot with my family throughout the space.All in all, we had a wonderful experience. One that none of us, especially my wife, will soon forget. I highly recommend Chef Matthew and Boutique BK. You will not be disappointed.“

“Zoe Deleu is a flavor magician, kitchen wizard, and an overall absolute queen. I had the absolute pleasure of having her cater our reception at Housing Works Bookstore. Fair warning - this will not be a review per se, but a love letter to Zoe and her works of umami art! So typically a bride does not want to be upstaged at her wedding, but let me tell you, the food was the star and I was NOT mad about it. I think almost every one of our 135 attendees came up to us to tell us that the food was amazing and hands down “the best food [they] have ever had at a wedding in [their] lives.” This was coming from people who are absolutely not chicken and rice people — but from people who live and eat in major cities all over the world with sophisticated palates and are VERY VERY critical about their food. I heard nothing but good things (trust me I would have heard about it if they had any criticism). Additionally, Zoe’s plating is divine, the service of her staff is impeccable and I don’t have a single point of need for development feedback. If we wanted a mix of flavors (like black sesame and green tea tarts for dessert), Zoe can accommodate that. A cajillion different allergies? Zoe can handle it. Have no idea what you want? Zoe will gently guide you towards particular choices that fit your menu and guest needs. I told you, this is a love letter, not a review. However, I think my absolute favorite part about Zoe is that she is humble, kind and treats her staff with the utmost respect. She is a lovely person who loves her craft and the craft loves her back.
