“Can a slice of cake be life changing? I'm literally in the middle of eating a slice of their strawberry sumac cake and I'm definitely feeling that way. It's so dense and moist but still also fluffy and refreshing? The flavor is deep and complex but still accessible and it has a rich level of sweetness without being cloying. It's a slice of cake that can't be consumed mindlessly - it stops you in your tracks when you take a bite because it's THAT good. I'm being long-winded but as someone who has eaten more cake than advisable in their lifetime, I am grateful to have ByClio in my neighborhood as a place that not only delights but excites with every new flavor offered. Also they have excellent coffee!“
“We could not be happier with how our event at Farm to People went. The space is cozy and warm, the food was amazing (with lots to choose from) and the staff was incredible. I was able to completely relax and enjoy myself at my event because I knew everything was well taken care of. I have not a single complaint!“
“Love this place! They have amazing sandwiches and bakery items. They bake their own bread and the scallion pancake croissant is my favorite. They recently started doing donuts on Sunday but get there early because they usually sell out before noon. They also sell sandwiches on a pricing scale to make it more affordable to people in different income ranges. Tip- you can early to have them hold any pastry item because they usually sell out early“
“Wow! This is a little hidden gem. This is probably the best coffee I've ever had in NYC. Doesn't taste burnt at all like most other places and it has a nutty aftertaste. Really delicious - doesn't even need syrup flavors. The chocolate chip cookie is divine and tastes homemade! I'm so happy I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall. It's tiny inside but there are a few tables / stool seats by the window. It's a great spot to bring a book and people watch. They have a bunch of other pastries that look delicious as well and I'm excited to try them all! This spot is just steps from the L train at Grand St. Don't miss it! Super friendly service, quick, and delicious. What else could you need?“
“I just love this place so much. The staff are always so warm and happy. The coffee is great. The croissants are so good. The chocolate croissants actually have gooey chocolate, not an unmelted chocolate log inside. The chocolate chip cookie is the best in the city. Yes. I said it. The other pastries are also great. I will say, the babkas are good but much too sweat for me. I only wish they have a few more seats inside.“
“Mom and I visited Guria for the first time on a Saturday, late afternoon. The young man at the counter assured us he would answer any questions. We sat down in this bright, clean cafe and had some delicious Borscht, which Mom described as "tangy". There was a lady in the kitchen kneading dough and bringing out freshly baked Georgian breads. We had wonderful mushroom bread fresh from the oven! Mom had a large cup of foaming coffee which looked and smelled terrific, and we shared a piece of Georgian baklava which, unlike Greek baklava, has thick layers of pastry and is filled with walnuts and raisins--loved it! I will absolutely return to try Guria's "batons" of shoti (amazingly chewy Georgian bread) and the Lobiani (Georgian red bean bread). Dumplings can be ordered in advance. There were several varieties of soup and breads available for take-out. Thanks to the baklava, I was able to resist the tempting chocolate chip cookies displayed under a glass dome. I tremendously appreciated the patience and kindness of the young man who answered my questions and served us with a smile. I am so impressed with the hard-working lady, tirelessly baking in the kitchen. Thanks, Guria, for a lovely lunch!“
“Sandwiches are expensive here!! Around $17 so be prepared. The bread is phenomenal though. The triple chocolate croissant is delicious - very flaky and not too dry. Would recommend. The pistachio croissant was a tad too dry and wasn’t standout.“
“Highest recommendation ever. Ordered for thanksgiving- delivered to my door. The most delicious apple tarte narmande ( sp?j so much better than a plain apple pie. And pain du chocolate . (Croissant w chocolate. for the morning.) please excuse bad French names for these delicious pastries. Getting ready to order my Christmas deliciousness.“
“I love love love this place and order burritos frequently from here as a weekend treat. However, my order is frequently wrong. I would definitely check your burrito before taking it away! I am lactose intolerant and get the veggie burrito with vegan cheese and maybe 25% of the time they give me a chorizo burrito with regular cheese. Today is one of those days ???. I should have checked! I would say that this place would be a nightmare if you have life threatening dietary restrictions.“
“What an INCREDIBLE bakery, absolutely one of the best in New York. First off, the owners are super kind and welcoming, TJ and Cynthia are always down to answer questions about the bakes, and they make the place so inviting. So far, I've had an almond croissant, a regular croissant, one of the little gf cookies, and some sesame sourdough crackers. All have been 10/10. I'd recommend getting as much as you can, it's all fantastic.“
“I visited the establishment a week ago, came late and couldn’t enjoy my favorite Adjarian khachapuri, we were offered instead just warmed khachapuri, which was no worse than what I wanted. BUT I was disappointed by the fact that if you come an hour before closing, the only thing you can enjoy are leftovers and salads..In general, these are the things that I can say about salads. The salads tasted very disgusting (the ones I ordered), the usual vegetable salad was cut into huge cubes of bell peppers and cucumbers, and there weren’t any other ingredients; further, the taste of this salad was like metal, with the smell of old oil and the smell of stale onions, I was very amazed by this and I do not recommend eating their fresh salad in the evening if you are a harmful person like me. Next, I took mushroom salad, it tasted no worse than fresh salad; the taste of the salad was reminiscent of coconut, oddly enough, and also the taste of greasy oil, as if the mushrooms were fried in a ton of oil and there was no particular hurry to remove them from the stove after frying; I don’t recommend the mushroom salad. And so, I gave it four stars because it was nice and quiet, and the guys were quite nice to us.“
“We found you on our trip to Brooklyn in March and we are still dreaming about the amazing turmeric oatmeal breakfast - so great that we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge the following day for another portion! Great service, great staff, we will be back and we will be telling all our friends to come too!“
“Wow wow wow. Took the ride from Philly for these donuts for my birthday. Before I even got to eat the donuts, the owner who happens to be the sweetest person in the world, gave me pins for my bday! The donuts were mind boggling. The guava cheesecake donut is other worldly. The miso apple, raspberry currant, and salted caramel, were so amazing. Thank you so much!“
“Friendly, cozy, comfy seating, and bright, this is my favorite coffeeshop in the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where folks say hello & most folks are regulars.Super tasty croissants, made fresh. The rocket fuel is my favorite treat-my-self drink. They make a great americano, too.“
“I came here with a friend after roaming around the neighborhood while we waited for our table at Evelina. We walked in and immediately were drawn to the great selection of pantry items they had (sucker for colorful labels as well). I’m not a big cook so it kind of inspired me to want to try some recipes just to incorporate some of the items we saw. After looking around for a bit we walked out and decided we definitely wanted to come by another time to check out the sandwiches, well that some time turned into a few hours later when we got hungry again and wrangled our other friend to come to the shop with us.While looking at the menu the guy behind the counter was super nice and asked what we were in the mood for, while we looked over the wide selection of sandwiches he gave me a taste of the buttermilk fried chicken in the Korean sauce they had and WOW it was soooo tasty and juicy. I ended up getting the Korean fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickled onions. My friends both got the friend whiting sandwich and they absolutely loved it.Call us creatures of habits but we ended up going back again the next day to try another sandwich because we were craving it so much! 1 whiting sandwich, 1 shrimp po boy and I got the chicken cutlet with Calabrian chili aioli and wow, someone needs to bottle that chili aioli and sell it!So happy to have such a nice neighborhood spot (just discovered it but I see they’ve been open since 2021) with such amazing customer service and great sandwiches. Can’t wait to go back and try more!“
“I just can’t get enough of this place, it’s sooo damn good. I came to vacation here in New York once again after coming here once during wrestlemania 2019. I immediately came here during the cold raining storm drenched just wanting my key lime pie!!! TOTALLY WORTH IT! Everything tastes very high quality.I just got everything on the menu . I don’t care how much it cost. The chocolate is smooth, creamy and dark. It pairs really well with key lime pie. You can actually taste the graham cracker crust, I’m shocked because so many pies mask the flavor of the crust with their artificial sour tart lime filling. Not this pie!! And last but not least, the key lime filling is perfect. Not extremelySour or tart, just right and creamy. With a hint of lime flavor.Prior to our arrival, my sister was angry and upset that I made her walk with me to Steve’s during this crazy cold windy storm. Her mood changed once she tried the pie. Saved me the stress of having to deal with it.Ugh I’m leaving today morning back to LA. I’ll miss this place very much. I wish there was a Steve’s in Los Angeles. My trips to NY are not compete without a key lime pie from Steve.“
“We ordered custom cookies for the holidays to give to our customers and were extremely satisfied with the service and quality. From when we placed the order until it was shipped was a minimal amount of time. We received such positive feedback from our customers that we would definitely do it again.“
“I actually think the pastries are a bit hit and miss, but I’m clearly in the minority on that one. They also rarely heat up any of the display food (quiche, fritata, etc) much above wave-a-candle-in-its-general-direction temperature.BUT, sitting outside or in the backyard with a coffee and sandwich make this place a return spot. The breakfast sandwich is a delicious mess and the bread was phenomenal. Cappuccino was also fantastic (I’ve had much worse at dedicated coffee shops nearby)“
“The most amazing chocolate babka ever! Take a peek at the layers! Excellent experience; you may ask them to bring you a piece for the price you'd like to pay, and the pricing is determined by weight. The piece I purchased was far heavier than it appeared, and it was about $37, but you still get what you pay for. Need to give it a shot!“
“Today I had a life changing cookie. I had the strawberry milk cookie, then immediately texted my husband and called my sister to talk about this amazing cookie. Strawberry is one of my favorite flavors, so maybe I’m biased, but it was the best cookie I’ve had in a really long time. It was soft with crunchy bits on top, and the strawberry flavor popped. I felt like a cartoon character with heart eyes and sparkles coming out of my head with just one bite. The s’mores cookie was also amazing. Both cookies were delicious and also unique. I can’t wait to try the other flavors.“
“Went at 945a a little after they opened and the line was moving pretty quicklySubbed chorizo with avocado in this massive burrito with scrambled eggs, potatoes, tomatillo salsa verde. Ok each bite had a burst of flavors. It’s reasonably priced and I would absolutely get it again!I also tried their chocolate chip cookie, chocolate banana bread loaf, ube sesame mochi, cheddar chive biscuit“
“When anyone asks me where to find the best chocolate croissant in Brooklyn, Runner and Stone comes out on the top of my list. The pastries are perfectly balanced. Buttery but not too greasy, crisp on the outside but airy and fluffy on the inside. My only complaint is that I always want more. The staff is always very attentive and patient.“
“Update: went back recently for a date and I have to say it was perfect! They now have wine & cheese board, which was very nice and perfect size for two people. Got my girl some flowers right there! Very nice convenient spot for a date let me tell you))Cool place, good croissants and coffee. Tried chocolate croissant and nutella latte. Really liked both ??“
“We stumbled across Leo when we wanted a chill Italian spot for dinner in Williamsburg. We came at an awkward time (~4:30pm) so we didn't see many people as we walked in. A couple hours in, the music was played a bit loudly so was a little hard to hear sometimes! Still, I would say this is a cute and cozy date spot. We got the clam pie, which is a special. Shared between two, we were satisfied, but would order one more dish in addition, since we were so hungry!“
“While not in a prime location, this little cozy coffee shop is very special. If you are nearby, just go. They are very intentional and detail-oriented for every order. Seasonal, Japanese inspired baked goods and drinks. Line can be long and service can be slow.“
“A cute and cozy cafe that makes the best croissants and matcha lates. This place is beautifully decorated, great customer service and their cookies and cupcakes are pieces of art.The building address is on Irving Ave but the entrance is by Jefferson Ave. ?I highly recomend it!P.S.: I would like to see a bigger sign that stand up and make the business a little more visible for public. ?“
“My wife and I came here for the first time on this sunny day ??♂️?My wife liked the shawarma with chicken ? 5 ?, she can’t give it less.Everything is as it should be. Fresh ingredients are the key to the success of any dish. And I liked the shawarma ? with pork ?, actually.. At 5 ? ?Comments will not convey the taste - so come and try itWell, sooo delicious ?In Surgut ?? we ate “Shaurma in Arochka” - and this is by far the best shawarma in Surgut. But this Georgian ?? shawarma ? is just cool ??We wanted to try khachapuri, but we’ll come next weekend ☺️Thank you for your hospitality and for the gift ??? ?“
“This is hands down my favorite bakery in NYC. These recent one star reviews are clearly fake, bots, and/or a pathetic person(s) with a vendetta, which is really sad. Everyone who works there is always very friendly. They consistently make the best croissants, sourdough loafs, etc. and I think their baguette is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. I almost wish I hadn’t tried their puff brioche loaf, because I crave it constantly and am already too fat. Thank you, Brooklyn French Bakers.“
“Wow this was incredible, there service was amazing. After getting a free sample of the coffee cheese cake a day before we knew we had to come back and try the food and it didn’t disappoint. Make sure to try a slice of the best cheesecake when your in town you won’t be “
“Came for the coffee, stayed for the Arepa. Food service is a bit slower for a coffee shop, but the staff makes up for it with their service. Music is lively but not over the top. Obviously, top Spanish hits. I've passed by this place so many times. Glad I finally made time to check them out. Will be back.“
“Our wedding guests continue to tell us how great our desserts were—even many months later! So we had to make sure to send our thanks to Baked! We had a cutting cake with two different flavors: Oopsy Daisy on the top, Sweet and Salty on the bottom. Then we sent out platters of cupcakes to our tables of those flavors, plus a mix of others. Additionally, we were able to serve some gluten-free and vegan options for guests with dietary restrictions. Annemarie really helped us work through all the details beforehand, and everything turned out perfect on the day of. Again, we cannot thank them enough!Expect us to come back often, and especially on our anniversary, to pick up some treats!“
“Wow! I'm so happy I found this place. It is such a cute and comfortable atmosphere. The guy that helped me was very nice. Their selection is wonderful (I went in around 6 or 7 on a Sunday and they had so much goodies left). I got a few items to take to hang out with friends and there wasn't a crumb left after we tried everything. Not a single disappointing thing in the box. The brown butter and Chai cookies really blew my mind. Prices are great considering the excellent quality of everything and the packaging they put they put the items in. Can't wait to go back!“
“My hotel was not far away, so I decided to stop by on my visit to NYC. I ordered the rose donut, rose chai (almond milk), and filter coffee (almond milk). The order tasted great, and the aesthetics were truly unique for a neighborhood shop.Absolutely loved the experience and will make this a regular on my visits to NYC!“
“Outstanding bakery with a delightful variety of pastries and cakes. The $5 mystery bag is a steal, offering a mix of sweet and savory items worth well over $20. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Highly recommend the chocolate and almond croissant for its decadence or the ham and cheese croissant for a quick lunch. A must-visit for pastry lovers!“
“Catered large Trays Mini Cassava balls Salt Fish Cakes with the sauces Tamarind and Mango . Delicious delicious delicious . All our guests could not stop talking about these appetizers. OMG JERK CHICKEN TO DIE FOR - Spicy and tender N JUICY leaves you wanting more. Again all our guests chattering about how delicious the jerk chicken was. MAC N CHEESE for the Vegetarians flavorful cheesy n delicious . My new go to for friends and family gatherings.“
“This patisserie has both Style & Substance. So so good It’s so cute inside. I must admit, I’ve been in other cafes or bakeries where the charming decor leads to an “okay” experience with their treats. Je T’aime Patisserie has EXCELLENT bakes, a charismatic owner Jatee and a dedicated team.I saw this place on TikTok, wanted to support Brooklyn’s First Black Patisserie owner and headed there on a Saturday morning. I got the Red Velvet Latte w/ almond milk and a specialty croissant. The latte was steaming hot, and had the notes of a really nice, complex red velvet cake without being artificial. The Specialty Croissant was the best dessert I’ve tried in a long time. The filling inside was so velvety smooth, and the berries were fresh + tart. I’ve honestly been thinking about it since. Definitely check out this Patisserie!“
“I love Moco Choco! They make the best cakes in Brooklyn. My wife got me a cake from Moco Choco with a photo of me on it a couple years ago and we have since ordered custom cookies and chocolates for gifts. I would definitely recommend them!“
“My usual order for breakfast is a Jessie’s Burrito (egg, beans, potatoes, Oaxaca cheese…I get turkey sausage but it originally comes with chorizo) and an almond milk Chai Tea Latte. Super tasty and the perfect amount of fuel for my morning!“
“Decided to go here to get a 10" black cake to celebrate a company party. The customer service was great, and the cake was delicious and finished earlier than i expected! It was moist and fresh with jolts of rum. Would order again from here in the future!“
“Really dope place to hang for a bit. I came with my friend and we received free samples and bought a few goodies to go.Great spot to take people who come into town for a visit. Take a walk there, get a nice drink and walk around town on a sunny day with your fave person(s)!“
“Meat, chicken selection is in abundance and fresh. A beautiful selection of freshly made salads cold cuts and various cheeses is sliced to order. Prices are a little high but worth every penny. They take phone orders for delivery in a timely fashion. Avenue U location is pristine clean, cashiers and other workers are very nice and helpful. Freshly made Italian breads and rolls every few hours. They offer catered dishes for large gatherings, corporate & private parties.“
“Naira Bread is a West African Store with Nigeria food….You can get one of the best popular Nigeria bread ( Agege Bread) here in loaf or Sliced with anything to go with it, e.g Nigeria local beans with the native stew to blend with it. You can’t regret it. An amazing “
“Smaller space than I expected and not the best place for a date but lessons learned. Other than the negative aspects we came for the food and it was incredible! I will definitely be ordering again. There's a reason Anthony Bourdain spoke highly about Tone. Just delicious. Possibly the best bread basket I've ever had. The waiter on call was just the nicest guy. They definitely care about their patrons.“
“As an essential centerpiece of any wedding reception, the wedding cake from L'esti's Desserts exceeded all expectations. From its elegant design to its delightful taste, every aspect of this confectionary masterpiece was simply exquisite.“
“My favorite food place in bushwick! They change their menu daily which is fun to see what’s happening on their social media but keep their staples in. All of them are ridiculously good but my favs are the blueberry, pumpkin pecan, sausage jalapeño and chili! Plus the owners are sooo sweet and kind. I take the L into BK just for these treats.“
“Delicious cookies and bread from Caputo’s! The moment you go in it smells delicious and everything looks fresh! We had the Italian sandwich cookie with apricot filling (this was our favorite) and the sandwich cookie with chocolate and raspberry filling. Prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and is cash only so be prepare.“
“My go-to spot for a jerk chicken patty! Authentic flavor but it is not spicy. It costs around $3 but it is packed with flavor and meat so you get your money's worth. It is better to go earlier because they do sell out of some of the patties like the jerk chicken and veggie. I went around 11:50am on a Monday and there was no line. This place typically has a line so if you are looking for a good time to go, I suggest Monday during the early afternoon. I will definitely be back because I am always curious about the food. They have roti and other traditional Caribbean dishes like oxtails and stew chicken.Vegetarian options: Veggie Patties“
“After reading the review, I immediately asked for a two-chip chocolate chip cookie instead of the famous original chocolate chip walnut cookie, and it was really delicious! If you don't like sweets, it may seem too sweet, but if you eat it freshly served, it's crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, so it's delicious, and it goes great with a bitter drink like Americano or green tea... When I run out of sugar while shopping for nearby vintage, I eat about a quarter of it and then eat it again when I feel thirsty. You can walk around for a long time. It's so sweet that you definitely can't eat it all at once! Still, it’s a cookie like a scone or brownie, so it’s a bit filling and delicious! The staff seemed to differ depending on who was caught. The other two staff were very friendly, but only one had an expressionless expression. Still, the atmosphere inside was nice so it was nice to sit and relax, and seeing as a lot of people were ordering coffee, the drinks seemed to be good as well.“
“We were suggested to visit this place and I was not disappointed. There was a wide selection of pastires and other tasty delights. I managed to con my wife into letting g me get a cannoli and was impressed. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, the cost was appropriate as well. It was a bit of a tight squeeze but space is always an issue. 100% will return.“
“Everything is good here, and always fresh. They have a variety of donuts- both yeast and cake. Wonderful breakfast items, and I love their rolls and/or bagels with bacon, egg, and cheese( delicious). Coffee is bold and flavorful, and customer service is friendly and fast. Family owned business and a staple in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Stop by and try their goodies out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.“
