“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

“We went directly here after eating at the Cafe because I had my heart set on an onion bagel, and possibly a garlic bagel. The Cafe didn't have either option but I needed them in my life. So we walked over right after. Super cute small spot. Beautiful smoked fish in the cases, amazing cream cheese options. I so wanted the caviar cream cheese, but we just ate and we were gonna be walking around for a few hours. So I got 2 onion and 2 garlic bagels. They thought we was nuts not wanting anything done with them. Like I said I just needed them gonna enjoy it tomorrow morning as our Great American Road Trip continues to Boston. Personally next time.. I'd go to this original location, more variety, of bagels and cream cheese, but no seating. So pick what works for you but definitely Go! 100% recommend.“

“I seriously can’t say enough good things about this bakery! The second I walked in, I was already obsessed with how cute and cozy it was. The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful, and honestly, I wanted to move in. 😂 You can tell everyone who works there puts so much love and hard work into everything they make. The cakes are actual works of art—I almost felt guilty cutting into mine… almost. 😅 They looked incredible and somehow tasted even better. The staff was so friendly and welcoming that it felt like they genuinely wanted you there, which is rare these days. Also had an excellent plant-based SEC on a round croissant. Excellent! Makes me wonder why they don’t just make everything vegan, no one would notice. Please open a vegan location in Williamsburg!“

I've been here on multiple occasions after work and there have been times when there is only one or two people on the line and other workers are standing around chatting. These people need to be disciplined by upper management. It is unfair to the hardworking employees as well as the customers. Clarence is a joy though!“

Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. Needless to say our NY employee was super happy and LOVED the flavors and decorations of the cupcakes. ❤️“

“I've been here a few times and everytime I leave I always think it's a top 5 bakery in the city. already planning my next visit. The pastries are insane.

The chocolate chip cookie is hockey puck-sized and somehow gooey all the way through. The bottom is crisp

The seasonal mango passionfruit bun was incredible. I like my pastries really sweet and this hit the spot in so many ways. I might have liked it more than the cinnamon bun which is wild since I LOVE cinnamon.

The peach melba had super fluffy laminated dough layers with cream cheese and a poached pear. I'm not 100% certain why it had raspberry jam as well but it still worked.

Zachary the owner was friendly with everyone who came in and I ended up talking to him for 20 minutes when we realized his family is from the same part of Queens as my in-laws. Kirsten at the counter was also super welcoming. Really lovely place to walk into.“

The jambon/beurre on baguette (recommended to me by Daniel) was Heaven on a plate. 😇 The workers here couldn’t be nicer. My wife and I try to come to New York City once a year. Whenever we come up from Florida, I try to find a good French bakery or French restaurant. This is a place I will definitely make a priority on my future trips. When we were there, the clientele was mostly young, multi-ethnic, everybody looking pretty intelligent. It was just a really pleasant place to be. Can’t wait to return!“
