“My husband and I made the long drive yesterday (2 1/2 hrs each way) from upstate NY to visit our daughter in NYC just for the day. While strolling around her neighborhood we came upon your lovely bakery and cafe and after eyeing the beautiful carrot cake in the window, we had to go in. Carrot cake is my favorite sweet treat. There were so many beautiful choices, but we got 2 slices of carrot cake to take back home with us. After the long drive back home we were really looking forward to a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. I opened one of the beautifully packed boxes, which revealed an enormous slice of yumminess!! The slice was big enough for at least 3 people. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this cake was phenomenal. The frosting was outstanding, the cake was so flavorful and moist. It was the best we’ve ever had. We have enough left for a few days. I’m so glad we stopped in. It was a great way to end our lovely day in the city and will most certainly go back on our next trek in . I will also have to get our daughter pick up some baked goods when she’s coming home for a visit. I highly recommend Crumbly Cafe & Bakery😊😊“

I ordered for pick up and was pulled into a meeting, causing me to come get my iced drink and hot sandwich 1 hour later than I was supposed to, leaving the drink melted and the breakfast sandwich cold. When I got there, Pedro didnt hesitate to offer to remake everything fresh for me. In a day where everything wasnt going my way, this gesture from him meant a lot to me.“

“If you’re a tourist, stop here in China town. The nicest guy owns the business and is very patient and friendly to tourists. The sponge cakes were phenomenal and the Tai tea is insane good. 3 sponge, 2 teas, Gatorade, Coke, bottle of water…$19. Cheap! Great! Friendly! Visited on a Saturday morning and it was packed but they move quickly. Grab a ticket as soon as you get in! There is no seating here, but they have two benches outside (that will likely be occupied if it's busy). They also sell coffee, chocolates, and other foods!“

The owner apprenticed with the original Kam Hing owner and finally opened his own cafe! Can't go wrong with the original flavor but the pandan coconut is sooooo goood! it's my new fav! “Double Crispy is one of my fave Chinatown bakeries; I’ve been coming here since 2018. Whenever I am in Chinatown, I try to stop by and pick up a couple things. Their variety of baos, baked goods, cakes, and egg tarts is incredible! Every year they put so much love and care into their moon cakes for mid autumn moon festival, and around lunar new year, they have endless traditional, lunar new year treats, and sweets for you to purchase. The staff is friendly and efficient. My personal faves are their moon cakes, Portuguese style egg tarts, sesame cookies (the thin flat ones at the front), the cha siu bao, pork floss bao, and the pineapple bao with egg custard inside! Their HK style sponge cake is
also a hit; my 4-yo is obsessed with it! You can also get their packs or chicken/cabbage bao for an amazing value, which I occasionally get. They keep well in the freezer, and when you want, you can pop some

“I got off the subway nearby and walked down Church on my way to World Trade Center area.
At 224 Church St, an older office building, I saw the signs for Frenchette Bakery. So I decided to go inside and check it out.
The Bakery is at the back of the building lobby on the right. It is just a kiosk built onto the wall and the actual bakery is further back on the right.
You order at the counter and wait for your order. Then you find one of the built in seating areas on both sides of the lobby wall. Very unusual and prettiness interesting.
Americano coffee came out quickly and it was perfect. Made just right.“
