I’m watching a friend’s cats on this block for a week and I’ve been here three times already. Everything is fresh, tasty, and cheap. I’ll miss them when I’m back in Brooklyn… good excuse to return.

Tao Hong is an amazing bakery that offers a delightful selection of Chinese treats at great prices. The egg tarts, praised for their flaky crust and jiggly custard filling, are a standout, along with the soft and fluffy pork buns. The pineapple bun with red bean filling remains a must-try, while the moon cakes and mango mochi roll have become new favorites. The staff is exceptionally kind and friendly, always eager to help. Though the bakery has a no-frills interior, it’s a beloved spot for quick stops and delicious Chinese pastries, from classic dahn taht to fantastic bao. A true gem worth visiting again and again.
