“Wonderful dining experience! The space is small and cozy, the cocktails delicious, and we were treated with such warmth, kindness and respect, like we were in someone’s home. This is how dining out should be. The seating can get quite tight later into the dinner hour, so try not to bring big coats or bags! They will check them for you downstairs though, if you’d like. Also get the bread with butter, it’s the most delicious butter I’ve ever tasted. No diet-just do it!“
“Come for the space, there's a lovely enclosed patio in the back! Stay for the pizza and the drinks, both of which were surprisingly good. Be warned, however, that the menu is a novella. So many options, it's approaching overwhelming. If you like Neapolitan-style pizza, you'll definitely enjoy La Lanterna's. It was the right chewiness, and the toppings and sauce were tasty. I also had one of the many available adult beverages, opting for a hard coffee. It was excellent. The cheese and pate plate was good -- the bread it came with was well seasoned and had a nice crisp. But the presentation definitely leaves something to be desired, it definitely looked like an elementary school science fair project on the plate. Overall, good food, not too pricey, and a nice patio. Solid option!“
“The food was beautifully presented & fresh, service excellent but ambiance (?). The place is very popular and noisy, so plan to go when it's NOT breakfast - brunch time it you want more than a light conversation with short sentences.“
“What a find ... cracking Aussie style coffee. Bonus that you can grab a Vegemite on toast if you are feeling a little homesick. Food is great. Staff are lovely! Great service from a fun, friendly team. Have popped in a couple of times on this trip. Will definitely come back on my next visit to NY“
“I went to this place in Nolita because I heard a lot about their Corn Y Cubano and it didn't disappoint. The corn is grilled right in front of you with all the toppings you could want, making it a great lunch for a sunny day. I also tried their steak sandwich and found it really tasty, though the fries were a bit soggy for my liking. The restaurant is pretty busy, but the service is fast and the staff are nice. It's a good spot for a quick bite if you're in the area and don't mind waiting a bit.“
“We went in on a Friday afternoon without a reservation and were able to sit at the bar. Both the food and the coffee were delicious. The banana bread French toast was good but rich- we split meals and shared half and half which ended up being perfect. Service was timely and the place had a cool modern atmosphere. I’d recommend making a reservation for larger parties and if you want to sit at a booth or in a chair with back support!“
“My first time coming to Harry's was tonight and wow, did I make the right decision. I sat at the bar but the vibe of the restaurant was super classy yet upbeat. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive. I ordered the half dozen oysters and flank steak which may have been the best I've ever had. This place is a must visit!“
“Their baristas were so sweet and honestly had great vibes. The Major was really good, though it was sweeter than I'd normally prefer. Ample lighting and seating when I went and a huge plus was being able to charge up my phone (ample outlets).“
“The Charlotte Cafe is my favorite coffee shop in NYC! It’s my neighborhood hang where I’ll go to work, study, or catch up with friends. The coffee is consistently amazing, the food is delicious, and the baristas are exceedingly friendly!“
“Really great sourdough baguette, I'm still thinking about it! I got the tahini spread and it went well with the baguette. My friend got the Mediterranean quiche which was vegetarian and had zucchini, feta, tomato, and onions. She loved it! They are very sweet even though we can in and out 30 mins before closing and they didn't have many other customers. It's a warm homely space and smells delicious!“
“I went this place after work and hit the spot. We had a delicious hot chocolate like I have not tried anywhere else, super tasty and delicious.m, it doesn’t need more sugar. The maple cruller was delicious but the passion fruit was exotic delicious and unique ! The staff very friendly they make you feel at home ! I loved the place and I will definitely go back!“
“Fantastic food and phenomenal service! It felt so cozy in there, like you weren’t in the hustle and bustle of New York City! We had a meat & cheese platter, two salads and a cacio e pepe and everything was incredible! And it was all very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back - and can’t wait to tell friends and family about this gem! 10000/10 recommend“
“The spot to stop at when in New York. The consistency of this sponge cake is remarkable. $1 for original and $1.25 for flavored..there is a sponge cake with chocolate in it and it just bursts with flavor. It taste authentic just like the ones from Hong Kong ??. This shop is off the main street and if you don’t see the sign you’d walk right past. The Best Sponge Cakes in New York.It is like a sterile cafeteria in here and clean. Go early in the morning when all the flavors are out. Later in the evening almost everything is almost gone. Check it out and you’ll be glad you did.“
“We found you on our trip to Brooklyn in March and we are still dreaming about the amazing turmeric oatmeal breakfast - so great that we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge the following day for another portion! Great service, great staff, we will be back and we will be telling all our friends to come too!“
“AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The food was absolutely amazing. The flavors, customer service, presentation and overall feel of this place left such a great impact on my friends and I. I literally tried it on Wednesday, and came back with a friend the very next day. My order: Afro Burrito with Chicken; Peanut Stew served over jasmine rice and hot sauce“
“We had a Happy Hour and and everything was great - Shamim H was our server and he was excellent. Very helpful and funnyETA: came back for happy hour next day and our bartenders Amanda and Chris were awesome as well! Had the labneh tartine and it was delicious!Save room for dessert, get the chocolate fondant ?“
“It was a brisk day and we were offered outside- which we took rather than wait. I am not sure I would have been comfortable with all of the taxidermy. Sort of creepy- vegetarians, beware. Our server was the right amount of attention.Food- tasty- squash toast. Fun sort of asian? Flavor- maybe too much mint [I had to remove half of it- there was a LOT]. Side of bacon to share$35 each- coffee, squash toast, 1/2 bacon. COST- NYC PRICES.Coffee- sour- didn't finish even half....booooooooo!Sort of sunday out fancy.“
“Great service and good food. Initially I was told I could only order food to go because someone was having a private party and they were prepping but then the man behind the counter walked me through the menu. He then suggested I have a seat and could eat in if I wanted. I chose to dine in and the food was fabulous. I got the bacon egg and cheese biscuit. They did not have the cheddar jalapeño biscuit I asked for but they added extra cheese to my sandwich to compensate. The biscuit was crunchy in the outside and soft on the inside. I'll definitely be coming back to try the chicken biscuit and all the different compound butters.“
“I added salmon, green onion cream cheese, and tomato to the Everything Bagel and it was super delicious!! Be sure to ask for the bagel to be toasted. There was a lot, so I bought one and shared it with my boyfriend, and it was perfect. I'm going again tomorrow.“
“I enjoyed the avocado toast, with two fried eggs (extra) (they don't do poached). Nothing fancy, nothing catchy. When it came out I prejudged and was thinking, oh hmm, this might not be good. But overall the avocado and the eggs were good enough for a 4⭐, and I think the two things that helped to push it over the edge to 5⭐ were the bread and the pickled peppers. In particular the pickled peppers added a little bit of sweetness and a little kick. Pleasant surprise.Matcha latte was reasonable and not remarkable -- lacking in latte art but slightly making up for it in portion. Also, could have been sifted/whisked some more because there were lumpy chunks at the bottom. Nevertheless I won't let this pull down the 5⭐ for food.~10am on a rainy Sunday morning but the place was almost full. And there was a robust pickup / delivery business.“
“The food was rich in flavor and expertly prepared, making each bite a pleasure. What truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service provided by Carlos, our attentive waiter. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect.“
“I’m a tea lover- hate coffee- and specifically look for iced tea. It’s incredibly hard to find a cafe that offers a good selection of iced teas that aren’t overly sweetened, so when I found Whistle & Fizz a year ago, I was immediately in love. They have unique drinks, a great space, good prices, and a wonderful staff. I introduced everyone in my office to W&F and at any giving day, at least one person in the office has a cup at their desk. Check them out!“
“I came to this restaurant by chance, as I was searching for a kosher restaurant on the Lower East Side. I love lentil soup. As a graduate of the French Culinary Institute, I’ve always thought that my lentil soup was the best. I was wrong. Theirs is better. After the soup, I ordered the ravioli stuffed with artichokes. The artichokes were plentiful, and the ravioli was perfect. My friend ordered the lasagna. She couldn’t believe that it didn’t contain meat. It tasted like a traditional meat lasagna. At the owner’s suggestion, we shared the lemon tiramisu. It contained a lovely citrus flavor and it was light and airy, and we ordered a 2nd one.Randi, the proprietor, owns the historic Blue Moon Hotel, which houses the restaurant. He gave us a tour of the hotel. The room had a terrace with a view of the whole city. There was a lot of memorabilia from the time that these were apartments. Randi is also an artist. His art adorns the walls of the restaurant. If I could, I would give this restaurant 10 stars.“
“Thanks to the food here, I was able to travel to New York while recharging my energy. For me, who was embarrassed by the salty, simple taste and expensive food in New York... It was my 'oasis' while I was in New York. I visited it every day for 5 days. Boss, you will prosper!“
“My opinion is 9.1/10. Def lived up to hype. I had the yuzu, has a lemon flavor and I did enjoy it. If back in the area would try other flavors I heard the boba is what they are know for. “Came with with reservations for brunch on a Sunday around noon and was delighted by how bright and airy the decor is. Definitely on the trendier side, but still comfortable and warm.I ordered an iced taro latte and the lemon poppyseed waffle. The taro latte was on the sweeter side, but I still enjoyed it. The waffle was fun to eat, with the cream and strawberries. It was pretty filling too.Unfortunately the bathroom was out of service while we were there, but the rest of our experience was great! The servers were friendly and attentive (almost too attentive though, with two different employees asking if we were ready to order within minutes of each other).I would definitely come back and enjoy brunch with my friends or even as a solo date.“
“I stumbled upon this cafe, lured in by the need for quality espresso to wake up from long flight, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. But, there was a moment that had me scratching my head. When I asked for a long shot, the staff seemed a bit lost, not quite sure what I was after. It took a kindly gentleman's guidance for them to get the hang of it. Watching this unfold, I couldn't help but wonder about the espresso lingo barrier in NYC cafes. Turns out, a long shot isn't as common as I thought in the city. Who knew? After a bit of back and forth, with the staff member checking in to see if he should keep the espresso flowing a bit longer, we got there in the end. And I've got to say, the result was worth the mini espresso education session. The long shot was bold, smooth, and had a depth of flavor that took me by surprise. It was a reminder of how a little patience can lead to some pretty delightful outcomes.Vegetarian options: I mean, most of snacks don’t involve meat.Dietary restrictions: Dairies should be opted for alternatives.Kid-friendliness: Hot chocolate and warm milk for you!Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight entry as well as the space. Might struggle to move around“
“Fluke was fabulous. Duck confit a little too salty, but then again, I’m on a low sodium diet. Divine dessert! We dined for over two hours, but they didn’t rush us. I truly appreciate that as I’m experiencing certain restaurants, mind you not cheap, asked us to vacate our table for the waiting patrons…..“
“Coffee and matcha were good! We also had a muffin and scone- both were bland and dry. I would skin the pastries. But the drinks were good. It's a small little hole in the wall place so I wouldn't say it's good for business meetings just because we didn't have a ton of space but it did the trick.“
“Just moved to the area and Charlotte Cafe was an incredible surprise. An authentic italian experience, with cornettos (croissants) the same as the one you would get in Bologna. The staff is very friendly and professional. It would be amazing if they added vegan cornettos as well.“
“Stopped for coffee and a menu item. Wonderful food. I had a latte and house toast. Spoke with the owner who was there. If it was wrong, he fixed it for a different customer. Wait time to get seated was about 10 minutes as restaurant was full.“
“Went around Monday afternoon, was in the mood for something for a quick bite. When you walk in there is always a warm and cheerful welcome. Grace is always so kind and patient to customers who go in, was unsure of what to get yet she was so kind to explain the items the café provided. Decided to buy a bacon and cheese egg sandwich, K-corn dog, and Croffles. She was so kind explaining each ingredient and it’s uniqueness. 10/10 would come again!!“
“I tried these crepes for the first time, and wow! I loved them, the taste is really good, but best of all was the lady who runs the place, very friendly, super cheerful and willing to give the best care, I recommend you try this place, you will not regret it, no doubt this place I will frequent more often. ⭐️“
“The drip they had was columbian-blend from coffee project, hence very dark-chocolately. The matcha latte was very unique — it had a seaweed-like flavor which I’ve never experienced with other matcha powders. I was impressed by the decor, though the space itself is tight.“
“Our group headed into NYC for our usual Christmas visit and happened upon Tartinery Cafe in Olympic Tower when we were looking for a place to sit after Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and before the Christmas Show started. What a find! We all had hot chocolate and avocado toast with a pouched egg. The hot chocolate was made and did not come from a "machine", the avocado was not from a package and was very good. We were very happy with our service as well - David could not have been more accommodating, friendly and helpful. We chose table service and he was very attentive and even though it was quite busy, we NEVER felt ignored at all. I suggest Tartinery Cafe at Olympic Tower if you are looking for a quick snack and nice atmosphere. We were very happy and satisfied with our choices and service and would happily go back next time we are in the area! Thank you David for a great experience and great conversation!“
“The pastries are NOT very sweet (good point in my opinion) and the coffee is very delicious, different from most of the coffee shops in the city that tend to have a burnt taste. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, good music to sit quietly.“
“The only proper Italian coffee in Harlem, or for that matter most of NYC. Sit down and savour a finely made caffeinated beverage in a nice ceramic cup! They also have spectacularly great house-made pasta, and delicious pastry. Great vibe, staff, and hang.“
“As atmosphere and settings go this place is up there for cafes in New York. The Japanese style is elegant and perfectly done, excellent service as well. As for coffee, slightly less impressive. They have a limited menu based on pour overs. Their house blend pour over was a 8.0, slightly better than the third wave cafe scene standard but not by much.“
“Hello!! Allfunnewyork from instagram here :). Love this place! Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. Is a relax environment to come get a drink after work. Now they have some Amazing and Delicious cocktailsThe first two are seasonal! So go get them! “Super minimalist, solid chai, straightforward spot! Came here on a whim on a rainy night with my elderly mother and it was the perfect warm and delightful spot to warm up with a delicious warm cup of tea. I think I'll come back with a friend to try the "tea flight".“
“My husband and I had one of the Best dining experience last night at Cafe Carmellini. The restaurant is so elegantly decorated, romantic for dates and also sophisticated for business meetings. We were warmly greeted by Mr. Banat. He took us to a table in the kitchen that was specially set up for our anniversary celebration. We got to see how the kitchen staffs work their magic. Chef Mr. Carmellini came to greet us and explained the entire menu to us, how often does that happen in such a fine dining establishment! One thing I value a lot is the drinks, their cocktails were craftily made, I want to say they were some of the BEST cocktails I ever had; they also have great Champagne selections. We order Oysters, blue-fin tuna, shrimp colonnata, wild-salmon and the black bass; I must say they were all beautifully presented and exceptional delicious! The lady who served us was nice and friendly. As first time customers we were felt privileged and were so pleased with the entire experience! Our gratitude to Café Carmllini and their wonderful staffs for such a beautiful anniversary celebration!“
“Love the pastries and cakes from this bakery. Top notch. Maybe better than dare I say anywhere else in NYC for croissants. Their cakes are gorgeous and they always try to accommodate. So happy it’s in this neighborhood, esp. for my cravings.“
“I've walked by this spot hundreds of times but finally stopped in for a coffee and obligatory pastry. Everything looked so beautiful! I got an apricot tart, which was lovely. Excellent coffee. Great service. Will return for a bomboloni for sure!“
“Little nugget in the heart of the financial district for a very Frenchy breakfast!❤️❤️The pastries are noteworthy: flaky, crunchy, tender and generous, the healthy bowls are generous, the ingredients are fresh and the coffee is excellent. Many customers are professionals working in the sector waiting in line outside. The boss is French and the place is worthy (or even superior) of a French café.Several French brand products are offered for sale and the decor is as cute as anything.“
“I been wanting to try this place for a while now and it did not disappoint. We waited about 30 minutes before a table was available but the food was worth the wait. What we ordered: Big Brekkie ($19) this was super filling and literally every single item on the plate was delicious and unique considering how basic the items were. The egg was scrambled perfectly. Shrimp Linguine ($20) nice flavor, and they gave a good amount of shrimp. Very buttery Brussel Sprouts ($10) the perfect amount of seasoning and crisp. Definitely would recommend Matcha latte was not a fan, probably would skip out on this. Was not mixed well. Overall everything was perfect. Cant wait to come back“
“Banc Cafe in midtown Manhattan is an excellent place for food and drinks. They have live music Thursday through Sunday evening and every Sunday, don’t miss out on their half price bottles of wine after 4pm. You must try their espresso martini. One of the best inthe city. Their friendliest staffs will take your order and bring your delicious food and drinks out promptly. Enjoy the food, enjoy the drinks, enjoy the atmosphere, and enjoy the music. Whether you are looking to hang out with your friend and family or your loved ones, Banc Cafe is a great choice.Guinness Draft 10Espresso-Tini 17Machete Petite Sirah Blend 160 Sunday 80Sampler Plate 45Sweet Chili WingsTruffle FriesSteamed MusselsCrab CakeLinguini Alla Vodka 27“
“I was reminded of exactly why I love this café when picking up some pastries today:• The coffee is delicious and everything is made with attention and care.• The décor and music make me smile every time I walk in. (When is the last time you can say that about any chain eatery?)• The women who own and operate the café are super friendly, always greet you with a smile and are clearly very competent at running a business. (Did I mention everything is spotless?)I hope you support this family business – I know I will.“
“What can I say? Absolutely everything about this place is simply perfect! One of my favorite places in Manhattan. It's a very beautiful and stylish place with a delicious food and coffee. Not even mentioning the staff! (Very professional, kind and friendly) NYC definitely needed such coffee shop“
“Awesome little coffee shop. They have a huge menu with a variety of options. They also have a large selection of juices and wellness shots. I only got some coffee and juice but would definitely come back to try some of their breakfast items!“
“Amazing food, drinks, and service! The birds of paradise drink was amazing if you like a little spice. They brought out bread (including gluten free bread) with a dipping sauce of olive oil, garlic paste, and peppers that was incredible. We split the caviar topped tater tots, tuna crudo, broccoli (served over yogurt, so unique and one of the best veggie dishes we’ve ever had), and the limone pasta on a gf noodle (gf noodle made in house and my non-gf friend said it was amazing pasta even among non-gf. Every bite was amazing. Top tier service. So knowledgeable about dietary needs. Cute ambiance. Can’t wait to return!Dietary restrictions: Very gluten free friendly! Can modify almost every dish. Very knowledgeable about ingredients, shared fryers, etc.“
