“Happy Cooking does it again! Very special restaurant that will be my goto after BAM shows. They got range, baby! From one of the best executions of a Caesar salad I have ever had to an inventive mussel toast dish that smacks and crunches. As usual, the space, the staff, even the music choices are pitch perfect. But it really comes down to the people. Happy staff at happy cooking = awesome.“

“a truly excellent meal that was the highlight of our evening. Sophisticated enough for a beautiful date but casual enough to have a genuine, enjoyable time. I'll be thinking about the Uni Crispy Rice for many days. my only gripe was that the menu is a QR code, needing to use our phones. In an environment like this I would've preferred to not have my phone out at any point, but I will definitely be returning!“

“Stunningly great restaurant in all respects, especially food with the sweet potato and red snapper dishes being delicious, creative and original. The lamb kofta and the lamb main dish were also 10/10 and the naan bread is definitely worth it! Exceptionally nice service and beautiful restaurant. Do not miss this one.“

“5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“Most toppest-tier extended tasting menu spots in NY leave me a bit cold - the ultra-refinement feels sterile and saps the joy and discovery of a Noma, Gaggan, or Quintonil. EMP at its (pre-Vegan) height bored me, Atomix is obviously excellent but I vastly prefer the food and soul of Atoboy (maybe it’s just the chicken, but still - also I’ve never been to Le Bernardin so no shade to them).
Blanca, however, is now the one in the city I’d slot with my favorites ever - the first in the city since the initial iteration of Ko.
Certainly it has refinement to spare, but almost every dish presents diners with combinations which seem dubious at first - but after the first few conquer your palate you’ll be along for the ride, salivating over what discordant thrills Blamey masters as if born concocting them.
And that bread course…I’ll never forget it.
Thank you Blanca!!“

“Love the chill atmosphere and the food. Service was great. I’m not big on spicy food so I ordered the naked fried chicken which came with a separate chilli dipping sauce, I tried the chicken with the sauce and it was actually a nice mix. It wasn’t too spicy which my stomach was able to handle. I also highly recommend the cheddar cornbread and dirty fried rice!“

“My partner and I had our 6th anniversary dinner here the other night…and I don’t think we’ll celebrate our anniversary anywhere else from now on. Winona’s was incredible. The staff were beyond hospitable— everyone wished us a happy anniversary. The somm was a delight to talk to and the wine he suggested was delicious. It reminded me pre-covid nyc dining. The dining room was lively, people were sitting and enjoying themselves, the server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a perfect 5-star night. We’ll be back and often. Highly recommend the scotch egg!“

“Chez Ma Tante in NYC did not disappoint! The cured smoked salmon was incredible – perfectly balanced and flavorful. And the service was just as impressive. Anna took great care of us, making the experience even more memorable. Amazing food, amazing service – can’t wait to come back“

“It’s surprising that this small restaurant holds both the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York and a Michelin One Star.
The bar seats are nice because you can watch the chefs at work, but it’s very dimly lit, so a table might be a better choice.
Even though the head chef has changed, it seems the dishes now have richer flavors, perhaps due to the added South American influences.
This was one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever visited, and even the desserts were fantastic.“

“Inga’s Bar does not serve bar food, really, despite the name and despite the cheeseburger on its menu — a very good and unpretentious one, on a soft toasted bun with white onions, crisp dill pickles, sweet bread-and-butter pickles and a stack of two pressed beef patties, each in its own shiny orange sheath of melted American cheese. You wouldn’t think it was out of place in the kind of tavern where mugs are kept in a freezer below the beer taps and the food is served in plastic baskets, unless you knew that the pickles are made on site. OK, the dark, from-scratch fries with freshly whisked mayonnaise might give the game away, too.“

“Good brunch, we had the ricotta, Five Leaves burger, Moroccan scramble, Bloody Mary, coffee
Burger was good but kind of fell apart cause a lot in there (beetroot, egg, pineapple, etc)
Ricotta and Moroccan scramble were tasty!“
“Super super cute vibes. There are two seatings. 7 pm and 9 pm. People don’t come in and out. Once seated, they bring out the drinks and then the food. The lamb was my favorite. I do agree it is borderline expensive. But the ambience is so cozy and service most excellent.“

“It’s such a pity, I really wanted to like this place but was let down for some reason.Ambience was great for casual dining, super hip decor, noises from tables reverberating around the small, cavern like inner room.Food was good as well. But it was so so slow. We wanted to order starters first, see how we feel before ordering mains. We were told it has to be all at once.Even though they took our orders from the start, we had to wait an hour for the mains to arrive (same for the table beside us). The service staff did come by and apologise twice, so I’m guessing the slow service is not usually the norm.“

“We had a lovely time at Chino Grande - all the food was rich, flavorful, and unique. We shared the avocado salad, congee croquettes, char Siu bites for appetizers and then the garlic coconut noodles, hot & sour mushu cabbage, shrimp saltado, and rice & beans combo. It was hard to pick a favorite dish but the congee croquettes and mushu cabbage were definitely a highlight. Great place for family style eating, with inventive cocktails - I’ll be back!“

“Had the fingerling potatoes and breakfast burrito. Burrito had a lot of flavor but but a little sloppy near the end. It’s tough getting that moisture out when doing breakfast burritos but those that do, it’s much better and not as messy. The rosemary fingerling potatoes were absolutely amazing. Would get those every time I come here.
For a drink I had a Le mone spritz. I think it’s ok. Not as citrus forward as I would have hoped so might as well go with a normal spritz while here.“

“We’ve recently been venturing into Brooklyn more from nyc as we’re consistently impressed with the food (and have been finding it takes less time to get to from the UES than downtown..) I filtered resy for Williamsburg and made a reservation at traif since it was one of the top rated spots with great reviews. All I can say is wow - we had a GREAT meal, couldn’t pick a favorite thing we ate, and felt that every item we ordered was a standout, not just a few things. Our waitress told us the menu is consistently changing, so this may only be helpful for those going this week.. but some of the items we ordered - tuna tartare (ordered a second of these at the end of the meal it was that good!), octopus, snapper bao buns, scallops (sleeper surprise excitement), blueberry ribs, foie gras, truffle pasta, duck, finished with key lime pie even though we had absolutely no room. Drinks great too, will definitely be back!“

“I’m a server at a restaurant in Prospect Heights. My guests have been talking about Hart’s every time I make a wine recommendation or ask them where they like to go. 7 months after first hearing about Hart’s, I was able to go on a night off. Not gonna lie, the service was impeccable; friendly; open concept kitchen and kindness. Elan was immediately approachable and the whole team took care of us immediately. We will definitely be coming back - and I’ll be sending my partner with his friends since he doesn’t have an industry job.“

“For a special evening with my partner, I booked a reservation at Margot, a restaurant known for its intimate charm. The atmosphere did not disappoint—the cozy, romantic setting was perfect, and the attentive service added to the overall experience. However, as our beautifully crafted courses arrived, we couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed by the presentation. While the flavors delivered a delightful blend of sophistication and comfort, the visual impact just wasn’t there. Given Margot’s esteemed reputation, we had hoped for dishes that matched the ambiance in terms of artistry.
That said, the food itself was well-executed, and the balance of flavors left a lasting impression. Margot excelled in creating a warm, inviting space, and while the presentation missed the mark, the overall dining experience still had its moments of culinary pleasure. Would we return? Possibly, but next time we’ll know to adjust our expectations when it comes to the visuals.“

“Cool Lebanese restaurant on Atlantic Ave.
it’s got a great vibe and whether you are sitting at the bar or eating you should have lots of fun.
The menu is Mediterranean diverse with hummus, tabouleh, baba ganoush. It’s better to go with a larger group since you really want to order as many dishes as possible and share them all.
They also have a large wine etc selection.“

“Nice place, nice location, friendly informative staff, great service, good food, good portions. Perfect dining experience. “We waited, and waited, and waited outside. We weren’t able to get in for either set. I’m not sure how they manage allowing guests to only assist one set but very few people seemed to have left after the first set and before the second. A waitress came outside and told us we’d all be seated soon and 30 minutes later, we were still waiting in line outside with the horrendous stench of decomposing rodents and trash. We dipped. Either you take reservations or make sure people in the first set don’t stay for the second. If you get inside, the ambience is lovely.“

“The food here is amazing! Great flavors and fresh ingredients.
We ordered the broccoli tacos, the chopped salad, and shared the burger. Everything was delicious! The burger is so good, very simple, but you can tell they use good quality meat. The salad was fresh and had great acidity to it. The tacos were crunchy with great mouthfeel and were absolutely yummy.
My only gripe was with the service! It was horrible. The hostess/waitress was rude as soon as we stepped through the door. I had to flag down staff each time we needed something. When it came to the bill, I had to get up and ask the bartender for the bill. Inexcusable, especially since the food is not cheap at all.
Will come back with lower expectations for service.“

“Dilly Dally is exactly what’s needed on Vanderbilt and in Prospect Heights.
The vibe in the restaurant is Coming Soon (quirky, diverse art, fun light fixtures, great furniture, table settings) meets cool bar, and the staff are down to earth and attentive.
The food is pretty perfect. We had the bread, Caesar salad, meatballs, trout and skirt steak. All were perfect. The bread is crusty, so moist and paired with the butter is so good. The meatballs are wildly soft and decadent with a perfect red sauce. The mains are really well balanced and delicious.
We didn’t get the burger; the next time we go we will. I am skeptical about a $30 burger, but they’re doing all the right things!“

“Amazing food at this female owned neighborhood place with great vibe. It’s funky in a good way and all are welcome—no snotty Bushwick thing here. “My husband and I dined here during our visit to NYC. We came from the Cincinnati area and it was our first visit to the city. When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. The service is outstanding - each individual host made us feel like family. We were never short beverages, and our space at the chefs table was kept tidy at all times - no empty plates left behind. The sous chefs are impossibly talented at what they do and gave every single plate attention and care before it left their sight. And lastly, the Chef is a true artist and extremely kind, humble person. We were delighted when he walked over to pay a visit as it was our anniversary dinner. The food is layered with exquisite, complimentary flavors that are refined and articulate but also make these dishes relatable, familiar, and remarkable at the same time. As a couple traveling foodies, I can without a doubt say this is one meal you don’t want to miss when you visit NYC. I’m just waiting to visit again and see a Michelin star outside the entrance. Forever a staple every time we return to the city. Thanks Chef and crew for an unforgettable experience.“

“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“
