Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!
Modern Taiwanese food. So delicious. Fried eggplant dish I’ll be thinking about for the rest of my life. LOVE the integration of labneh. Ok melting pot culture!!! I see u girl!!! Lu rou fan so delicious it had me contemplating my life decisions in silence at the bar. Sleepy time food. Fatty, well portioned and seasoned. Perfect to take togo. The cocktail selection includes unique Taiwanese options, and their famous ice cream sandwich is a must-try. The scallion pancake breakfast sandwiches and the scallion pancake sandwich are all-world, while the fan tuan is chewy and flavorful. The wontons are a top dish, and the sesame ice cream provides a perfect salty-sweet balance, enough to serve four people. The restaurant also features a beautiful interior and a selection of beers that add to the overall experience. The roasted peanuts are fun to eat with chopsticks, making for an enjoyable appetite-reduction exercise. Win Son remains one of those NYC restaurants that truly deserves its reputation, offering a genuine and novel dining experience. However, some dishes like the sesame noodles and eggplant have seen a slight decline in quality recently, with the noodles now more acidic and the eggplant with less labne. Despite this, dishes like cucumbers, lu rou fan, and fly’s head continue to be excellent and not to be missed.
