“The first time I came here was for my bridesmaid proposal dinner. The food was delicious! Today we stopped in for some brunch and bottomless cocktails and it couldn't have been better. I tried both versions of sangrias, bellinis, and a bloody Mary to end it off. My favorite would def be the white sangria. We also met Tom the owner. His singing voice is mesmerizing to me. So far during both times I've dined, I've had the short rib, salmon, truffle fries lobster benedict and others. The food is always a hit and drinks are always on point. Hospitality is top notch and they're always willing to bring you what you need. Highly recommend and our new favorite spot.“

“Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.“

“Nudibranch was incredible. Food, cocktails, vibes and service were all genuinely 10/10. The crab tteokbokki was one of the best dishes we had all trip.

“This little gem is so New York, and I had the best time here last Saturday night. It’s a tiny space run by a lovely husband-and-wife team that makes the whole experience feel warm and personal. The set menu was outstanding, with so many great flavor combinations, many of them inspired by traditional Nepali dishes. They also offer a thoughtfully chosen wine pairing that complemented the food really well. Service was excellent throughout, and I especially enjoyed hearing the stories behind each dish and the inspiration that went into creating them. Overall, just an outstanding dinner and a place I can’t wait to return to.“

Their Dutch baby “Primadonna” pancake and lobster roll are to die for. Much of what is on the menu it’s imported from Italy of the finest ingredients. It’s always fun to take the ferry across from Manhattan to the Pepsi Cola Sign and walk a couple of blocks. They can accommodate large groups, children, pets, wheelchairs, (you name it) at their outdoor seating. Run there. 😊💕“

You can truly appreciate the creativity, skill, and attention to detail that Chef Chen brings to each course. Every bite was memorable, and we enjoyed the meal immensely. Some of the dishes reminded me of the dishes I had at Eleven Madison. My favorite was the crab noodles and the scallop dumplings. “Lingo was the perfect choice for a special celebration. I brought my daughter here and the night was great. It’s a beautiful space, genuinely warm and personable staff, and excellent Japanese-inflected food with a creative twist.

We did have one miss: the ribs were too fatty for our taste. But here's where Lingo service stepped in. Without any fuss, they took the dish off the bill and were so gracious about it. That kind of hospitality is rare and says a lot about how they run their restaurant.

Everything else was delicious and the vibe was just right for a celebratory dinner. I'll absolutely be back.“

One guy had this sudden jarring guffaw that startled me a few times since he was sitting next to me.“

The food was amazing, as was the atmosphere and the service. My friend had the pork steak special and I had the trumpet mushrooms. “First time here. We wanted something light to eat and it did not disappoint. The ambience is nice and relaxing, the service - top notch. Never ran out of a carafe of water. We had the chips - fresh and warm (a little salt to it would have made them perfect but again- they were great) queso no complaints.

Shrimp tacos and al pastor tacos. We were amazed with the amount of filling in all of them. Maybe the pineapple in the Al pastor could have been diced instead of one big piece. - just nitpicking here. We would come back again for sure. Pineapple smash was the drink and it was very tasty“

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“Boardwalk Beer Garden turned out to be exactly the kind of place I did not know I needed tonight.

It’s right on the Brighton Beach Boardwalk, which already gives it a strong advantage: beach air, ocean nearby, and a calmer feel than the heavier Coney Island energy down the way. I had spent some time outside by the beach first, just taking in the water and the boardwalk, and then decided to step inside for a drink and something to eat.

Inside, the place had the feel of a real neighborhood bar: comfortable, lively, and unpretentious. Sports were playing across the TV screens, so it had that good sports-bar energy without feeling overwhelming. I was there by myself, but I never felt out of place. That matters. Some places have a way of making a solo customer feel invisible; this place did the opposite.

The margarita was excellent — honestly, one of the best I’ve had. Big credit to Phillip, who was an incredible bartender and made the whole experience feel easy, friendly, and welcoming. Good service is not just about taking an order. It is about reading the room, making people feel comfortable, and adding something human to the night. Phillip did that.

I also had the Jumbo Mozzarella Sticks with the margarita, and they absolutely hit the spot. Simple, satisfying, and exactly the kind of bar food you want when you’re sitting inside after time on the boardwalk.

Overall, Boardwalk Beer Garden was a very pleasant surprise: a relaxed Brighton Beach spot with a homey feel, good drinks, satisfying food, sports on the screens, and genuinely friendly service. I’m glad I gave it a chance, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back place near the beach.“

“I booked Dinner Party for my husband’s milestone birthday and hosted 36 friends by reserving the entire restaurant for 2.5 hours. I coordinated with the team from a month in advance, and they were all wonderful to work with. Everything ran smoothly and exactly as planned.

The food was delicious, the space was cozy, and it truly felt like an intimate dinner party at home. The five course tasting menu was served as cocktail style bites and was perfect for the evening. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their other menus.“

“I went to Hoexter's on a date on a Monday evening. It was busy but there were two seats at the bar which the lovely hostess graciously pointed out. The two bartenders (male and female) were absolutely stellar. We ate at the bar. The steak tartare was delicious. Other places claim to have good steak tartare but so many are actually mediocre. Definitely try it. The salad was nice and fresh and I loved the dressing. The cocktails were perfect. We had martinis and a mezcal Negroni and those were divine- beautifully crafted and presented. The Brunello we ordered was delicious. I have to say that what stood out above and beyond the wonderful drinks and food was the service. Each member of the staff we interacted with was warm, professional, extremely polite and kind and also just really great humans across the board. I'm thrilled to have this as a neighborhood gem and if you've somehow missed it as of yet, definitely go and check it out. oh! the atmosphere is perfect- cool and cute and well decorated while still being warm and inviting.
