“Glatt A La Carte in Brooklyn, NY: Food? Immaculate! Ambiance? Marvelous! Service? Impeccable! Thank you so much for feeding AND taking care of my family and I. My mom and 2 children decided to dine here this past Tuesday after searching up about 20 kosher restaurants nearby. We live over 2 hours away but knew we needed to eat good before the long drive back home. Listen… don’t walk, but RUN to this place! I ordered the Tomahawk steak and it came out perfectly. The accompanying chicken dishes (chicken wing poppers, buffalo chicken poppers and chicken and waffles) were superb! You’d think I was a celebrity with how they made sure I left happy. Thank you to the owner for stopping by our table ensuring we enjoyed the food. Thank you to our waiters! We were definitely pleased and will return when we’re in the area.“

“This is not a place you come to for atmosphere. This is a place for delicious falafel and other Middle Eastern foods, like shakshuka, kibbeh, etc., all vegetarian, since it's kosher dairy. The food is authentic Israeli-style. The staff is friendly, too. I don't wear a yarmulke, my wife doesn't cover her arms, and they serve us, and everyone I've seen walk through the doors with a smile. Good food and civility are universal. Give this little shop a try!“

“I stopped into this restaurant to get lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a small, fozy restaurant. It was kosher cuisine. I was greeted and ordered:

Szechan Lo Mein

The food was good and my favorite was the burrito bowl! It was really tasty! I liked all the dishes all in all!“

“This place is great, and you don’t have to be religious or Jewish to enjoy it. The boss is fantastic and the kugels are great, in particular the overnight version. “My wife Lois Padawer and I have eaten here twice during the past month and each time have enjoyed the experience immensely. The first time we even talked with the lovely owner, Tali. Both times we were served by Edward, an expert and gracious waiter. During these dismal times in which live, loud music is an unfortunate commonplace at restaurants (and at weddings and bar mitzvahs and in cars on the road, etc.), but when we asked Edward to lower the volume he did so instantly. Edward is also an excellent bartender. The bathroom is well-maintained. Go and enjoy delicious food in a pleasant setting!“

I do wish they would have prices on the items as has become the norm nowadays and to see before you ask for it what it cost. Though I did find prices to be pretty fair. They have a pretty big selection of items.“

“Very nice takeout store with many appetizing options to choose from. Lack of pricing is not great, it would be better if they had some labels of pricing near each item. Flavors are good and service is very friendly. They also sell full Kosher rotisserie chickens. Note that it is a cash only place, card is not accepted.“

“Very good Sushi, one of the better ones in crown heights. They are not super heavy on the rice, and the veggies and fish inside are fresh. Reasonably priced. They also have their own spin on the neighborhood classic Potato Bagel, a little bit underwhelming on this one compared to the bagel shop, but still a very satisfying meal.

Brilliant idea to stock Chili Lime chips from Trader Joe’s here at the supermarket. It’s a high markup sure, but very popular here.“

“Castells is an amazing kosher dairy restaurant. The food is elegant, beautifully presented, fresh, and absolutely delicious—but the true star of the show is the cocktails.

They are incredible. Every single cocktail feels thoughtfully crafted, unique, creative, and utterly spectacular. You can tell that so much care and creativity goes into every drink.

The staff is just as impressive. After only a few visits, I already knew many of the incredible waiters and staff members, and they make every experience feel warm and personal.

A special shoutout to the General Manager, Henry, who truly makes you feel like family. He’s also behind some of the best kosher cocktails I’ve ever had—and honestly, some of the best cocktails in NYC, period.

Walking into this place feels like stepping back into the golden days of the classic Jewish takeout stores. It has that old-fashioned, heimish vibe that reminds me of the original Meal Mart days—before everything became fancy, overcomplicated, and overpriced.

The barbecue chicken is legendary. In fact, this is the only place I know that still makes the original-style barbecue chicken the way it's supposed to taste. One bite and you're transported back years.

The cold cuts are second to none. Always fresh, sliced perfectly, and the tongue... wow. The tongue deserves its own review. Absolutely delicious and by far the best around.

Their gefilte fish is outstanding—authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. Honestly, the quality across the board is consistently excellent. Everything tastes homemade, traditional, and made with care.

I still miss the marrow bones. They used to have the best marrow bones anywhere, and for some reason they don't carry them anymore. If they ever bring them back, I may never leave.

Lipa and the entire staff are amazing. Friendly, hardworking, and always willing to help, even when the store is packed. The lines can get long at times, but that's usually because everyone else knows how good the food is too.

In a world where so many places have changed, this place has stayed true to what made it great. Real food, real people, real flavor.

“Good food but strange policy. The waiter took our order and disappeared. Supplemental staff served the food. There was no normal waiter service. Then the tab included an added fee for "restaurant service" of about 15% That money I was told goes to the owner! No wonder the waiter went home.“

“This place is a hidden GEM. I just ordered pickup here for lunch today, Tuesday June 30th, and I was absolutely blown away. Two rolls, the Spicy Salmon Avocado and the Ocean Roll, and they were so fresh and perfectly balanced. It was literally up there in quality with the fine dining sushi place I once worked at, called Zuma, which is Manhattan. They melted in my mouth. They could even stand toe to toe with sushi I've had at fish markets in Tokyo. Unbelievable. Blew way past my expectations.“

“I confess that visiting this neighborhood made me uneasy and sad; it saddened me to see girls who already had a future beyond their abilities and desires. The visit to the pastry shop sweetened the final point of my walk through the neighborhood a little, I bought some spelled cookies with chocolate chips and another product with apple and I confess that they were delicious, the staff showed correct attention. If we should copy and maintain this way of making pastries using healthy products.“
