“I got the spicy tuna dip and clam soup as appetizers, and for my main course, I ordered the signature set and added a few more temakis. Personally, I preferred the classic types of temakis. The special kinds had too much sauce for my taste. Overall, everything was delicious, and the staff were super nice. If you can't get a reservation at the city location, the Williamsburg location is way easier to book a table.“

“My partner found a hidden gem in Williamsburg. We tried the seasonal omakase set. The fish was fresh, each piece was delicious. Also, enjoyed that when each piece came out, the hostess would show us a photo of the fish we’re eating. Chef Leo is really knowledgeable with the food, so don’t be afraid to ask for information. Will definitely come back!“

“This place is amazing! The staff is so great, and the food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for Omakase in NYC/Brooklyn. Also have to recommend Chef Jack, he is the best!
Dietary restrictions: I avoided shellfish and it was no problem!“

“This is my new favorite place. The staff is SO nice and the sushi is really great. Some of the best in not only Brooklyn but Manhattan too. It’s inexpensive. My only wishlist item is that they’d add signature rolls but either way, this place is awesome.“

“I’ve been to this place twice, and both visits were excellent. I tried the $78, 11-course omakase and the $118, 15-course option. While both were great, I preferred the 15 courses because of the wagyu—it was a standout.
Each piece was expertly prepared by the chef and packed with flavor. Even the ginger was unique, served in cube form, which set it apart from other places. The green tea ice cream was also a highlight, really delicious.
I’ll definitely be returning!“

“New places can be hit or misses these days. This one was a big hit. In order to succeed in that location you pretty much have to become a destination spot, and that requires another level skills. These guys got the experience and created something fun and different (for most NYC). Get the fried chicken, cabbage, steak, and spicy tuna on crispy rice. Full report on EatingwithZiggy[.com]“

“Best restaurant in the area by far! Always great service and inventive and flavorful menu, with always a nice surprise from Chef Jason. Go team Yoyo! Don't hesitate to give them some love, you will get plenty in return. I am a fan (obviously!).“

“First time here and it was amazing!! First - the ambiance is nice. It’s very cute inside, you take your shoes off and sit on cushions on the ground. It feels very calm and relaxed. Second - the fish is really fresh and the concept is fun. It was cool to experiment with the different salts and make our own handrolls. Every piece was delicious. You also get soup, and they have good drink options as well. Third - great service! Our server checked on us multiple times. He was helpful regarding the menu. He even asked if we were celebrating something special and brought a dessert with a candle! We will definitely be back and I can’t recommend this place more.“

“They want to make you happy, and do a lot to show it. Dishes we tried included the caviar dumplings (juicy, wonderfully contrasting flavors, fantastic sauce) short ribs (falliing-off-the- bone tender) and great hand rollls and unagi don. Things got a little busy, and they came up to apologize for unagi main dish being delayed, and plated a free roll. Not necessary, not sought, but appreciated. Even the synthetic maple tree, with its foliage forward orange leaves, looked great.“

“Fantastic omakase experience with great value for money! The ingredients were incredibly fresh. I especially liked the sweet shrimp and scallops. Not to mention the foi gras with salmon combination.
Miso soup at the middle of the omakase was great - perfect for a warming break to prepare for a second round of sushi. If I have to pick any fault... The dessert ice cream was mediocre.“

“Finally! Wasabi. ACTUAL, friggin wasabi. You must request it as they do not waste it on the uninitiated.
Their menu reflects the populist palate of "Asian fusion" that rules the day as a gateway to purist epicureanism, they excel with the more traditional Japanese options.
They even offer, to the relief of the cognoscente, the elusive, and quite healthy, SPANISH mackerel!
Did I mention the actual wasabi?“

“My husband and I were visiting friends in Brooklyn and they live a couple blocks from Uotora. We had never been to New York and were super excited to try omakase. Holy sh*t, that was one of the best meals we've ever had! Everything from food to service to atmosphere was amazing. Thanks for showing these Golden, Colorado people a ridiculously good meal.“

“Absolutely loved Tora! The mentaiko pasta is a must-try – rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The crispy tuna rice was fantastic too (prob our favorite), with a perfect balance of texture and taste. We also had the crispy seaweed salad, which was light and refreshing, a great start to the meal. The drinks were excellent as well, though they recently changed their happy hour times, so be sure to check before going.“

“Came around 8pm monday night, given a 30min wait time, seated in 20ish (definitely depends on how slow/amount people want to eat)
Good variety of fishes as well as fish eggs, lobster, eel. Unfortunately they ran out of the eel and a few pieces of the bluefin that I wanted. Waiter was helpful in recommending replacement fishes
Ordered about 12 different pieces ranging from 9 - 24$, quality was good, sizes/portions could be larger. With the dish size plates couldve been brought out with 5 or so different sashimi/hand rolls on the plates
The pieces of bluefin I got were light but a good amount of fattyness to them (4 or so variations of bluefin, light to fatty) would honestly order more of bluefin if I was looking to reorder something
Pink lobster can be skipped, is more of a filler piece
Anago, no salty taste, eel had a nice texture
Salmon eggs, wrapped with seaweed around, sounds weird but the eggs didnt pop nor were they as refreshing/savory as I usually think roe is. Still tasted good
Overall a good experience but leaves you wanting more food at the end, wait staff was friendly and attentive (quick to update on wait time as well as letting us know when they were out of a fish)“

“I would give this place a million billion stars if I could. Every single employee that I saw there is SO friendly. The milk tea is the best I’ve ever had, and I absolutely loved the tofu/inari pockets, fresh, delicious seafood. The eel literally gets torched in front of you which is just such a lovely detail to how much they care about their customers’ experience. The people here brighten my day, especially tonight when I wasn’t having such a great day, their attitude just gave me such a wonderful vibe and energy… honestly made me happy. thank you guys so much for being who you are, and stay that way, our world needs it :’)“

“The service was great, I felt like I was attended to very closely by staff, yet given enough space to enjoy myself. The food was next level, my favorite was the uni wrapped in flounder. No need to make extra food plans after , you’ll definitely leave satisfied.
Great spot for a date or an important meeting. Checks all my boxes!
Edit: had some friends visit from the West Coast and was requested to show them “the spots.” Went back to try the hand-roll sets (having omakase twice a month will kill my wallet) and was pleasantly surprised that they do not skimp on the quality. Applause for keeping up the quality and good vibes Junsui.“

“Got the Chirashi Kaisen Don (Chef's Choice Assortment) and found that it was a great amount of raw fish for the price. The order came with Miso soup and a small steamed egg dish.
We got to see the chef prepare it for us due to the seating arrangement, which was a plus.“

“I forgot to take a pic but I had the smash burger with fries and with one simple miscommunication they Really looked out for me the Food and Service was A1 shout out to Fumi and Jada That Pumpkin cheesecake was everything ? I’m coming back Today!! Need another slice.“
“It’s a market as well as a pick up-only restaurant. They have a narrow bench inside where you can wait for your food to be prepared, but it’s not an eat-in establishment, at least when I visited on a weekday afternoon. The sushi was super fresh and delicious - the roe was a good touch and all the veggies were seasoned and/or pickled, yum - though pricey for takeout. I was under the impression that this was an affordable option for sushi in the area but it is not. Paid $32 for this bowl of salmon donburi.I would be back when I feel like treating myself.“

“I always like coming here, the place is always a vibe with friendly staff. The soft shell crab was amazing crispy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The sushi is fresh, and the ramen hits the spot every time. I wish they had different broths like chicken or beef.
That said, the drink menu could definitely use some more options. It’d be awesome to see a wider selection of wines to pair with the food, plus some more fun cocktails to mix things up. Overall, The Trad Room is a great place to grab a tasty meal, but a better drink lineup would make it even better.“

“I live around the corner and had such a lovely time here, I will absolutely be coming back. The rolls, especially eel, were delicious, and so was the Green tea tiramisu for dessert. Also had great sake, and all this was for a reasonable price and in a beautiful setting. Our host, Akbar, was so incredibly kind, hospitable, and clearly cares a lot about the quality of food and service. Bushniwa really feels like a rare gem.“

“Akimori on the upper east side is a delightful culinary experience. The fish was extraordinary and the presentation was amazing. The vegetarian option could use a little more creativity.
