“We came by (and had always wanted to since before they opened) for our wedding anniversary. We were a party of four (my husband, our son, daughter, and I), we were promptly seated in the back (they asked where we wanted to sit). Our waiter was very courteous and friendly. Our son ordered pork buns and scallion pancakes; they were very filling for him, and he enjoyed them very much. Our daughter got a bowl of chicken shoyu ramen, unfortunately it was too much for her - she enjoyed her noodle soup very much. Husband ordered pork gyoza and chicken yaki ramen, he was very delighted and it tasted great. I went with tonkotsu ramen. All the dishes were well portioned (for their price). Very clean establishment. Also liked the idea that thier sink is outside of the restroom, it is quite brilliant! We also liked thier curtain that were separating the dining area to the restroom. They were rabbit themed, including a mochi making rabbit in the moon. We anticipate our return!“

“I can’t believe I drive by this almost every day and have never tried it! Their lunch special is very reasonable and so good. I had a chicken tempura roll, California roll, Philadelphia roll and miso soup. They were so nice! I love walking into a place where all the employees are smiling and welcoming.

“Wonder has been one of our most consistent go-tos. Pickup is usually easy, the system works, the space is clean, and the food has honestly surprised me from day one. When they first opened, it felt like every order was dialed in, like the kitchen cared.

I’ve tried a ton of the menu and there are staples I keep coming back to: the salmon is always generously portioned and perfectly cooked, the sauces and capers are on point, and the broccolini is genuinely one of the best sides I’ve had anywhere - that char + acidity goes with everything. Even the simple stuff like fries and potatoes hit when they’re done right.

That’s why I’m leaving this review: lately I’ve had a stretch of 5-6 orders with small misses that didn’t used to happen - missing toppings, uneven pizzas, a pizza with a huge bubble, broccolini missing the lemon dressing, stuff like that. Not enough to stop ordering, but enough that it makes me stick to the “safe” items instead of exploring.

Still a big fan, still ordering regularly, just hoping the consistency snaps back to how it was because Wonder at its best is hard to beat.“

“I came here a friend and had 2 rolls (salmon and tuna), one sea urchin, and one wagyu single piece. All the food was incredible. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life. My friend had 2 vegetarian rolls, which both were delicious. “This is absolutely our new sushi spot in NYC. Went for my boyfriend's birthday because my usual spot was closed on the day. Beginning to end this was a phenomenal experience worth SO much more than they charge. The spot is subtle and well decorated and feels like a secret no one else is in on. There's a lovely seating area when you arrive where you can order a drink before being seated for your dining at the sushi bar.

We had 4 people to one chef, and three wonderful women attending to absolutely every other thing. Received an excellent sake recommendation, and immediately started in on the 17 course omakase. Each piece was beautifully crafted right in front of us with delicacy and precision that felt like it was out of a film. Truly truly delicious, fresh pieces flown in from Japan and seasoned in unexpected but beautiful ways. We loved every second of it. The chef was even attentive enough to notice that my boyfriend was left-handed, so he angled the nigiri at the proper angle for him to pick up. The attention to detail of everything in this place was amazing.

Because it was my boyfriend's birthday, and the end of the omakase menu they made him a beautiful little sashimi don with a teddy bear candle in it. So cute and thoughtful!

For a long time I've been a Gari devotee, but I've been entirely converted. In addition to excellent quality sushi, this was a whole experience that felt intimate and authentically Japanese. To get that kind of experience for such an unbelievably reasonable price is not something I thought I'd ever experience in NY. So glad we found this place and we will definitely be back! Service was attentive, but I wish they had more info about the dishes. Info such as ingredients in the sauces, where the fish came from etc.

The service was also very authentic to Japan in the sense that they were rigid about timing and when we were allowed to order certain things. If you missed your chance to order certain sections of the menu they wouldn’t take the order. lol it felt just like being in Japan.

HOWEVER they did accommodate an unusual dietary restriction and we very much appreciated that.

I think it’s fair because there’s no tip (it’s included in the price). Which is also true to Japan.“
