“Traveled from out of town to see a friend but also maybe mostly to eat the spicy chicken katsu that I’ve dreamt of since Mini Mart/Mama Yoshi’s used to be a pop up at All Night Skate and we would go sit outside in the cold and enjoy the food and a cocktail. Moved out of reach in 2022 and my life has not been complete without the sandwhich I’ve evangelized across several countries and continents. Thankfully as spicy or at least close to as spicy as it has always been. Thanks for keeping the quality and quantity the same and the prices really much closer than I expected. And sick merch per usual.“

“Small cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere. You order at the bar and the service is quick and friendly. No alcohol, but the focus is clearly on the food. The menu is small but thoughtfully put together, and everything feels fresh. The handroll sushi is especially great and definitely worth trying. A nice casual place to stop by when you want quality sushi without the fuss.“

“I can’t believe I drive by this almost every day and have never tried it! Their lunch special is very reasonable and so good. I had a chicken tempura roll, California roll, Philadelphia roll and miso soup. They were so nice! I love walking into a place where all the employees are smiling and welcoming.

I did a pick up order and it came in a cute reusable bag with their logo on it. Love that!“

“Wonder has been one of our most consistent go-tos. Pickup is usually easy, the system works, the space is clean, and the food has honestly surprised me from day one. When they first opened, it felt like every order was dialed in, like the kitchen cared.

I’ve tried a ton of the menu and there are staples I keep coming back to: the salmon is always generously portioned and perfectly cooked, the sauces and capers are on point, and the broccolini is genuinely one of the best sides I’ve had anywhere - that char + acidity goes with everything. Even the simple stuff like fries and potatoes hit when they’re done right.

That’s why I’m leaving this review: lately I’ve had a stretch of 5-6 orders with small misses that didn’t used to happen - missing toppings, uneven pizzas, a pizza with a huge bubble, broccolini missing the lemon dressing, stuff like that. Not enough to stop ordering, but enough that it makes me stick to the “safe” items instead of exploring.

Still a big fan, still ordering regularly, just hoping the consistency snaps back to how it was because Wonder at its best is hard to beat.“

“I came here a friend and had 2 rolls (salmon and tuna), one sea urchin, and one wagyu single piece. All the food was incredible. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life. My friend had 2 vegetarian rolls, which both were delicious. “This is such a cute place and the food was delicious! I came here for dinner with a friend and I got the Crispy and Spicy Sesame Chicken Donburi which was divine. The decor inside is super cute and cozy plus the service is excellent — they were so welcoming and efficient. Didn’t try the ramen this time but my friend did and it looked amazing. “Lingo was the perfect choice for a special celebration. I brought my daughter here and the night was great. It’s a beautiful space, genuinely warm and personable staff, and excellent Japanese-inflected food with a creative twist.

We did have one miss: the ribs were too fatty for our taste. But here's where Lingo service stepped in. Without any fuss, they took the dish off the bill and were so gracious about it. That kind of hospitality is rare and says a lot about how they run their restaurant.

Everything else was delicious and the vibe was just right for a celebratory dinner. I'll absolutely be back.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Best omakase I’ve ever had in my life and we’ve had omakase all over across the country!

We only did the 12 course and regretted not doing the 17. We came for lunch at 12:30 on a Saturday and it was empty! Not many places open for lunch so I appreciated that they have lunch service. They also gave us some mochi for dessert to celebrate our honeymoon.

I’ll always recommend this spot and plan to visit every time I’m in New York.“

Music was dialed in for the Brooklyn crowd. Request the back patio for a cozy vibe.

We got the crudo, pork loin, mandu, scallop, and ramen and each was a hit in their own way. Really loved the mandu for being equally Korean and Japanese stylistically (the tuile is very clever!), and the scallop was the best I've had in a long, long time.

“Mikado Sushi has become one of my go-to lunch sushi spots. The sushi is always fresh and consistently good, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

I especially appreciated their service on one occasion when I accidentally placed my order at a different Mikado location. The staff went out of their way to communicate with the other location and helped remake my order for me. They handled the situation so smoothly and were very accommodating throughout.

Great food, great consistency, and genuinely excellent service. Highly recommend!“

“This was the coolest and most unique dining experience I’ve ever had. It was also the most expensive I’ve ever done, but by the end I was convinced it was worth every penny and they could be charging a lot more and it’d still be worth it.

I went for my partners birthday and two others were celebrating their birthday and the dessert course (which was insane how good it was) had a candle and they brought little cocktails to everyone and we all cheered to the birthday people by name.

We got the alcohol beverage pairing which I highly recommend. First cocktail is shown here and then a few more of the glasses.

Service was impeccable and genuine. Especially Kiyomi (guessing on spelling), her warmth and kind banter put us at ease and we were talking about her all night.

Loved how he actually cares about each piece he makes and has such a pleasant mannerism (tho the overall vibe of the service was awkward and slightly cold in the beginning). We liked a lot of the pieces: quite fresh and diverse altho some of them taste Americanized and heavier (the truffle and the heavier sauce applied, for example). The service improved along the way tho. And the restroom can def be a bit more aligned with the decor outside.“

“We ordered the Duck Shio Soba and Salmon Ikura Soba. The food was overall good. Wished the Duck Shio was sent out hotter as it arrived lukewarm and took quite some time to come out. The Salmon Ikura Soba on the other hand was great and tasted fresh.

Service was alright. I don’t think our server realized we were waiting over 30 minutes for our food. The overall cost was also a bit steep.“

Marc and Max are cooking at a level that earns every star — fifteen courses and the execution never slipped once. The Hokkaido uni with king crab and geoduck was my favorite bite of the night. And the dessert was to die for — not one but two, the tropical refresher and then the Fujisan bread with soy caramel and Japanese whiskey. Leave some room. This is what a Michelin restaurant is supposed to feel like.“

“I had a great time at Hasaki. From the stairway in to the bathrooms in the back, the place is dripping in a calming, Japanese atmosphere. The service was lovely, all the servers felt friendly and relaxing. “I’ve been here twice for dinner and am pleasantly surprised each time! It’s an amazing value. For under $100, you get something like 10-12 nigiri courses and a few hot courses, plus a little sweet treat at the end. It was all good stuff too, incl some really yummy and fresh fish, items topped with caviar, foie gras (though this probably varies). Random fun thing: they let you choose your own sake cup!

Mostly counter seating but I saw a few 4-tops in case you have a group and want to socialize more.
