“A delightful little yakitori restaurant. It was great we didn’t smell like the food when we left since we had regular seating. It would be cool to watch them cook but we had kids with us. It’s great that you can tell them you’re not into weird pieces like hearts and organs and they’ll substitute. The different pieces, though mostly chicken, all had different tastes. We brought our kids that can’t finish an entire omakase. We thought we could get a la carte for them but they won’t let you order just a la carte despite the two adults ordering a la carte. Surprisingly, my favorite piece from the brunch set is the avocado one. The outside is very crunchy, sucha fun texture with the avocado.Very busy on the weekend. Would recommend having a reservation. The service was as kind and gentle as the ambiance, complementing the overall vibe of the restaurant.Our culinary journey started with the Kiss of Fire roll. Its little crispy bites broke up the soft texture of the rice and fish. It was a well-made, standard spicy sushi - a delicious blend of spicy and sweet that we both loved, especially with the added kick from the jalapeno.Next, we indulged in the Mentai Mushroom Trio Udon. The earthy mushroom flavors, coupled with the cooked fish eggs, created a rich, umami taste. The addition of salty pickled ginger gave the dish an extra zing and a fresh, herbal flavor that harmonized well with the earthy mushrooms. The udon was chewy and had a great stir-fried texture.The Hakata Motsu Nabe was a comforting treat for our cold day. The broth was brimming with flavor, and the chewy beef intestines paired perfectly with the sauce. The sweetness of the cabbage and the leek added depth to the dish. It was the leek and the broth that were the real stars, soothing us like a balm after our rough day. My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. The space is narrow with seating to the left and right. In front, a few private mini booth rooms covered with a curtain, line the side of the restaurant. These can seat up to 4 people. There is also a small party room downstairs. In the back, you can sit in front of the sushi chefs if you like, at a high counter.“

On two separate visits, the server forgot my drink. The server on our last visit was downright surly; she really seemed like she did not want to be there at all and spent most of the evening ignoring us. And, also during our last visit, we almost turned around and left because it looked like the place was closed. It was dusk, all the lights and signage were turned off, tables and chairs were stacked out front and a large pile of cardboard recycling was waiting to be picked up. There was a lot of filling so I ended up being fuller than I expected. For lunch, we had the lunch bento set which included a small portion of an entrée, a miso soup or salad, and a hand roll of your choice for about $25 depending on your entree. The teriyaki is on the milder side. Overall, I am happy to have this little gem in Brooklyn. Besides the good food, service has always been exceptional too.“
