“Went with the fam for the halal hibachi and it never disappoints. Flavorful and Savory and cooked perfectly every time …the kids had a great time watching the hibachi show too. We tried their shrimp, chicken and filet mignon hibachi along with a few sushi rolls. Definitely a spot we keep coming back too! They can make some improvement on the ambience..looks a little outdated

“Uzuki never disappoints. As two people with gluten and wheat allergies, it’s such a treat to find truly exceptional gluten-free soba and udon.

The Duck Shio Soba is always a favorite. Comforting, flavorful, and good for the soul. The Black Truffle Curry Udon was rich and delicious, but the surprise star of the night was the Tempura Mochi Vegetable Udon. It was our first time trying it, and we’ll absolutely be ordering it again.

The Farmer’s Root Vegetables were also great. We wanted to put that sauce on everything!

“Traveled from out of town to see a friend but also maybe mostly to eat the spicy chicken katsu that I’ve dreamt of since Mini Mart/Mama Yoshi’s used to be a pop up at All Night Skate and we would go sit outside in the cold and enjoy the food and a cocktail. The sushi rolls are larger than typical and priced very reasonable for what you get. Plus they serve warm sushi rice which not many places outside of Los Angeles do.“

When I asked about sourcing, the staff mentioned they receive shipments from Japan roughly once a month.

The service is reserved. Staff were polite but not particularly engaging, and questions were answered without much enthusiasm. The overall experience feels very focused on the food rather than hospitality.

The menu is seasonal and features everything from land to sea.
Each of the two seatings is around 75 mins but even 1.5hr was not enough to just enjoy; the pacing was a tad fast, especially towards the end.

Seating is also very different, in a U shape, so it does give a communal feeling and you can always watch the chefs in the open kitchen. Love the concept as it feels very intimate.

Highlights for May 2025 was the beef with sweet potato puree (perfection), and the shima aji course with a citrus jelly, crunchy kelp and I believe Thai basil!

I did think the huckleberry vanilla sumac coconut dessert was slightly underwhelming. I was hoping to end on a bang, something more roasty/toasty tea inspired or something super refreshing like strawberries. I also did find some dishes slightly salty but nonetheless flavorful.

“Didnt want to post too many snapshots of our dinner because I loved the surprises each dish came with but had to share the most lovely dinner experience I've had in a while. Set in a lovely chic Japanese variety and cookware shop, HOUSE brings a homey but elevated feel in terms of both experience and food. Everyone from the host to the chefs to the service workers were all the kindest and most professional.

The food is phenomenal and teeters between fresh and bright bites to savory and rich dishes. Every dish is well balanced and the textures are amazing. They even included an anniversary dessert and were just the most thoughtful and engaging - definitely worth coming back! Worth every penny and more.“

I know it's for the atmosphere, but definitely a little hard to see at times. There also isn't much seating inside the restaurant, mostly bar seating with one or two tables with stools, so be prepared to wait if you're coming with a party greater than 4. I really liked how simplistic the menu was and their focus on perfecting the chirashi bowl. We all ordered the $20 option, which came with a variety of fish, scallops, and seafood, and at the end they fill your bowl up with complimentary miso soup to soak up all the leftover rice. Overall, super fast service and great quality food, would recommend if you're ever in the upper east side.“

Highlights: bluefin tuna, seasonal firefly squid, and three rounds of premium Japanese sea urchin (my boyfriend was thrilled). The sushi progression makes sense, and the gold-leaf tuna with edible glitter spray is a fun touch. The chef is Chinese and super friendly – gave us great tips on handling fish.
