Based on the reviews, Bonsai Japanese Restaurant offers a calm, nice, and modern atmosphere with an artistic and authentic Japanese touch. The food is a true masterpiece, with fresh sashimi and incredibly fresh sushi. Portions are huge and filling. Specific meals mentioned include a salmon bento box, 3 sushi rolls, a crispy rice roll, outstanding lobster and shrimp medallion and uni (sea urchin) sushi, amaebi (small sweet shrimp) sushi, and an excellent tiger roll. The fried tofu was amazing, and the dressing on the salad was fabulous. There are many vegetarian sushi options. The service is top-notch, with a welcoming smile, super friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is a great place to relax with little kids and is the best Japanese restaurant in Long Island. It is worth checking out if in the area.
