“Cute lil spot in Long Island City that opened approx. a year ago serving up authentic Japanese fare. Great for impromptu lunch or to catch up with friends. They do open for dinner and drinks but I haven’t been yet.

I came for lunch with two of my friends. We tried the Omurice, Vegan Ramen and Matcha Soufflé Pancake. I omitted the bacon from my rice. The rice was a bit dry or overcooked and the egg wasn’t as eggy/runny as expected. We shared the matcha pancake, it was delicious enough to disappear in under 5 minutes. Our drinks were delicious as well. Mine was a bit too sweet for my taste so I watered it down.

“Another amazing dinner from Katsuno. Our favorite authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC came through for us once again, this time with take-out. Tonight we had the Tuna Avocado Salad, Nigiri Sushi, Pork Hirekatsu, and Tempura Udon. All served with a refreshing can of Funaguchi Kikusui Sake. Everything was fresh and delicious as always and served curbside in a safe no contact manner. Thank you Katsuno!“

“My plus one and I really enjoyed our time here. We had just gotten home from vacation and were in a mood for Ramen and this place did not disappoint.
Let me just say that this place has such a traditional Japanese vibe to it…the staff is warm and welcoming and the food was spectacular.
We had the ramen, both original and spicy and it was very delicious. We also had two Asahi beers and called it a day.
Overall, I will come back to this place more often.“

I recently dined at Izakaya Nana, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance is cozy and refined, giving off an authentic Japanese vibe. Every dish was a masterpiece, but the standout for me was the tornado omelet fried rice. The fluffy, swirling omelet draped over perfectly seasoned fried rice was both a visual treat and incredibly flavorful. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicately prepared, and the ramen was rich and satisfying. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations. “I ordered take out from here before, but the dine-in was on another level!
The food was beautifully served, they even served a complimentary amuse-geule, which is rather common in fine-dining european restaurants.
It was not overcrowded and the waitress was very friendly.
I can recommend the Vegetable Sushi Combo.

We started with oyster and ikura, followed by king salmon and kampachi amuse bouches, tuna tataki, squid with crab + tobiko, hamachi with shishito, toro with caviar, sweet shrimp with lime zest, sea bream, and king salmon with seaweed. Other highlights included stripe jack, golden snapper, scallop with ikura and shiso, and a beautiful bite of wagyu, tamago, uni, monkfish liver.

My absolute favorites were the Hokkaido Uni, squid with crab, and that wagyu, tamago, uni, monkfish liver combination—it was mind-blowingly good! We ended meal with ube mochi and yuzu cheesecake. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted—highly recommend for an elevated omakase!“

“Possibly the greatest omakase experience I’ve had within the US. The ambience is incredible, with a secretive feel and almost cave-like decor. The playlist is excellent with a great homemade sound system. Chef Mark is not only an incredible chef, but a great host too. I try a different side dish from their rotating menu on each visit, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Chef Alex puts so much care and takes such pride in his craft. I love tasting the fish and what accentuates it; I don’t need bells and whistles and Chef Alex creates wonderful flavors that truly highlight the unique taste and texture of the fish.

“Just moved to Ridgewood, decided to pick up food down the street at Yso Sushi for my girlfriend and I. The order process was easy and we got 3 rolls (Dragon/Spicy Tuna/Yellow Tail), Gyoza and a Seaweed Salad all for a very reasonable price! The food was so good, it exceeded our expectation for pick up sushi and the portions were generous. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend if you are in the Ridgewood area.“
