“The ambiance is stylish and comfortable, and the dishes are exquisite? We chose the ?$100 pp Omakase for 2 and also ordered a few appetizers and nigiri a la carte. The appetizers include a steamed egg—soft and smooth, with the sauce flavor just right—you can order it with added Uni.Since every ingredient was so fresh and sweet, we couldn't resist ordering more scallop, uni, and wagyu nigiri to satisfy our cravings~The cocktails were fruity and very professionally made?. The dessert's cheesecake has sesame flavor?Check this place out‼️“
“I just cannot get over how good the katsu is. The chicken katsu curry has to be my favorite in the city by far and has been since they opened. It's hard for me to find time to go here, but it's such a genuinely rewarding meal, and i'm happy to sacrifice the place being open daily for the love and time that seems to go into everything there, from the in-house food to the curation of snacks and drinks. The portion is absolutely enormous, bigger than any ive had anywhere here or abroad, and the quality is astonishing. It's just so good.Cool shirts too :)“
“The texture is fresh and tender, the flavor is rich, and every bite is addictive. The service is also very attentive, the waiters are friendly and always smiling. The environment is also very good, clean and tidy, making people feel comfortable and relaxed while dining. Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience and I would highly recommend it to my friends!“
“Has such a yummy and pleasant omakase experience in Astoria on a week night, thanks to That Place. The restaurant is so beautifully decorated and clean. The host/server was so attentive and sweet during the entire 1.5hr experience - my water/tea was refilled almost automatically after every sip. Same is also included in the omakase pricing which is really nice for drinkers ! The chefs worked together and created really delicious pieces- every one was super yummy. Their matcha ice cream and cheesecake were also so good ! Overall, was such a great experience and will definitely be back again for a weeknight or weekend dinner.“
“Sushi chef was heavy on the fish. Staff were adorably kind. Place is small and neat. Most decent sushi place in the entire neighborhood.I got the salmon dinner and an uni sushi. It comes with a side of either miso soup or salad. I could not finish it and had a cute little to go box for my leftovers.Price is a bit steep since I chose a moderately expensive dish plus the uni which was market price. There are more affordable options on their menu.“
“The most fun and engaging Omakase you'll ever experience. Talk about fun, raunchy and in your face . One hour experience without having to worry about behavior, matter of fact, the staff wants you to be loud and let loose. I've been to many Omakse around the $100 range but nowhere is this much fun. If you haven't experienced Sushi On Me then shame on you. I applaud the staff there for coming up with a party Omakase concept and I can't wait to be back. In closing, forget your mild mannered Omakase and just let it loose here or at their Brooklyn location.“
“Vegetarian options: They definitely had them!Kid-friendliness: We were able to bring my six week old niece. The restaurant was quiet and calm, the baby slept straight through our family’s meal and we didn’t feel weird about having the kid at all“
“everything was so fresh and high quality!! J really loved the salmon roe and you need to get negi toro roll and their fruit mochi!!!!❣️ it was the best!! it was fun to shop there since they have wide variery of japanese groceries! I think I'll visit often more?“
“Great lil Izakaya! The staff are extremely friendly and hospitalable, the food is delicious, the portion sizes are very generous, and a combination can be made if asked in advance.Definitely get the cheese corn and put some sweet soy sauce on it... And ask for the sweet and spicy sauce on the side, it makes any dish 50 times better lol. There's two other locations in New York, apparently one is in Manhattan, I'm not a local so I can't remember where the other location is... Either way I'm coming back to the Flushing location as I just really love the atmosphere, the location, and the staff...If you see the owner, tell them that the Black nerdy girl from Mississauga recommended the place and said to say hi ?“
“Definitely a home style friendly environment, the owner definitely treats customers with open arms. The price is extremely reasonable and the quality of the food is amazing, reminds me of a local snack shop i use to have back in my hometown. Would definitely recommend for a grab and go?“
“Came in on Saturday for lunch. The service was quick and food also came really quickly. I usually order delivery from Ooi so was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bento set. It was also great that they offer their lunch special on weekends. Will definitely be back!“
“Food: 100/10 Service: 100/10 I tried here with my best friend the very first time. We got Hambuger Steak & the Rose Spicy Rice Cake. When I came here the second time I got the same thing as the first time I came (I came with my husband) and because WE were on a time frame to go home after dinner. We ended up getting the same thing. I just wanna give the server a very very loving review. Because the 2 times I've been here, the server welcomes and greets you with the friendliest smile and the warmest "hello". The food here is great. I really wanna be a regular customer to this restaurant. Not only the food and the service is great. The place feels like home. It's so cozy. Its not TOO dark OR too bright. And If I'm being honest I would recommend Bunsik Korean Street food OVER KIMGANAE.“
“We come here almost once a week and never thought there was such a good restaurant in this area. The ingredients are very fresh, the waitress is very friendly and considerate, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, perfect for party. I believe we will visit them often.“
“I stopped by Izakaya Nana after a fun filled day in Flushing. Me and my friends had the pleasure of sitting in their traditional Japanese private dining room and loved every minute of the experience. It felt like we were transported to Tokyo. Our favorite dishes include the yakatori sampler, A5 wagyu, and truffle fries! I also recommend the strawberry sake mojito. The staff were pleasant and attentive. We can’t wait to come back!“
“I was in the mood for Sunday night sushi at home and my usual fav sushi place was closed so I went with TJ Asian Bistro based on reviews and I was not disappointed with the sushi rolls I got for me and the family (also this was a delivery order)and we waited about an hour. Both spicy crab and shrimp tempura were fresh, tasty & delicious, the shrimp gyoza order was also of our liking & I feel the prices are affordable, I would like to try other dishes in the menu in the future.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Bento Box“
“I love this cute brunch spot! The food and drinks were delicious. The pancakes were a bit pricy for their size. It gets pretty busy during lunch time so expect some delays in the service. The service is really kind though. Would definitely go back.“
“My son and I were just looking for a quick lunch spot and he saw Union Sushi downstairs of our hair stylist so we decided to try. I was skeptical at first, but the sushi is solid, tastes fresh, and they don’t skimp on the raw fish. We ordered a super tuna roll, tuna avocado, yellowtail and shrimp tempura - all were delicious. They gave us two small miso soups and a free hand roll to try. Very good and would come back.“
“Came to Ginza Don inside the Golden Mall with my friend and ordered the Crispy Pork Neck (Jowls) Donburi ($15.99), Teriyaki Chicken + Thinly Sliced Pork Belly Donburi and Tempura Oysters ($6.99). Each donburi order came with miso soup, seaweed salad, and a pouched egg on the side. The oysters came with 5 pieces and were fried nicely with a flakey batter. Did not feel heavy. My favorite was the thinly sliced pork belly because the Japanese BBQ sauce worked well with the char and smokiness of the grilled the meat. It was juicy and did not feel too fatty because of how thin it was. The chicken tasted milder, and the pork jowls were just too fatty for me to enjoy. It was my fault for ordering it not knowing what the dish even was. Haha. This stall is located in the back corner, which has 4 tables for seating. I ordered take out because I knew I was not going to finish, but my friend ordered to dine in, and I noticed that portion sizes seem a little more if you dine in.“
“My friends and I have become regulars at this place, because the food is so good! The flavors are so clean. Though the sushi's were not the best, they are ok. The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side, so it can get a bit crowded inside. However, it's bern worth it every time. The gyu don and the spicy miso ramen are personal favorites. As well as their matcha latte. .“
“Best Omakase in NY, period!I’ve pretty much tried every Michelin star (including Masa) Japanese restaurant in NY. They don’t come anywhere near the quality of food and service to Koyo. We’re here every month now. Hope they get a Michelin star soon!“
“Fresh and great quality sashimi/sushi, especially for the price! It’s a small shop so we always get take out and it never disappoints. The salmon nigiri is the star of the show for sure! The spicy tuna is great too if you like it on the spicier side ;DPicture: Dragon roll + medium nigiri sashimi sushi roll combo $97“
“I was just passing by without any information and went in, but I was surprised at how delicious it was. The spicy ramen was really delicious. The karaage tasted better in Korea. The song was great and I was very satisfied with the restaurant.“
“Came here for the 18-course omakase. At first, I was concerned that it would be too much… how could I have 18 courses? Would I be too full? Too gluttonous?Luckily, each of the courses (a piece of sushi) was small and I was not too full by the end of the meal. There were delicious pieces and each were unique on their own - too many pieces to name. Some were just okay - none I disliked. The price was fair for the quality and the experience.I paired the meal with a bottle of sake - the limited sake list had a variety of styles and prices.Finished the meal with a yuzu cheesecake and that was a fine ending!“
“Extremely delicious food , i tried thepork bao buns- 9/10gyoza w the spicy mayo- 10/10takoyaki- 10/10we also got ramen bowls , so authentically good , the flavor was to die for on a cold day like today! they actually take their time to bring the food out ( not alot of wait time dw ) the service felt family owned , they were super sweet & attended to us w ease. overall no complaints , cozy , affordable & great atmosphere , thank you!!“
“Great price for omakase, after taxes and tips was 180 ish for 18 courses. All the servers were polite and nice. The atmosphere was ehh, we came with 12 people so we thought it will be more private but they also have regular dinner tables set up in the same room as omakase. Other than that everything was fresh and a very decent price for what I wasserved.“
“This place was delicious I loved all the appetizers. In particular I really like the karaage it was super crispy and it came with a great dipping sauce. I also really enjoyed the ramen. I would love to go here again because of my love for ramen. The ambiance of the place is pretty pleasant and clean looking. The servers were pretty friendly and attentive. Definitely need to come back with some of my friends and family. You gotta check this place out!“
“This place sushi taste unbelievable, never had delicious sushi like this place , I’ve been to so many places in Manhattan, but this place is top off all sushi , I was even passing by and I said let me try, after I finished I went inside the place and I thanked them, it’s fresh and delicious .Vegetarian options: They have pure vegetarian sushi“
“I was on a job nearby and was set on getting halal food. I saw this food truck and decided to give it to a try. This is honestly one of the best food trucks I’ve ever tried in NYC. I will never eat general tsos chicken from another Chinese food place again. He also hooked it up with extra chicken. Excellent customer service“
“This has been my go-to spot for sushi after living in NYC for over a year. Felt very personal and welcoming whenever I visit, plus the chef always provides us with his sushi creations. I filmed a vlog when I visited, the link:https://youtu.be/LDOdcps2DtQHope you guys like it!“
“Truly an excellent dining experience with a beautifully curated menu and all of the delicacies you’d expect. They make the steamed egg right in front of you and it tastes AMAZING!!! The speakeasy aspect makes it perfect for a quiet, elevated meal in a cozy setting/atmosphere. Non-pretentious, quality dining.“
“Really thankful to have this spot within delivery distance of me! Their miso soup has a rich flavor and they have a 2-4-1 special which means I have leftovers for the next day. Their steamed pork buns are small but tasty. Their sushi rolls have been fresh every time!“
“My Family and I are frequent visitors at Moca, we just love it there, from the food to the service to the atmosphere everything about this is place is a good vibe . If you decide to visit please ask for Pseong, he’s the best waiter there, he’s super nice and extremely friendly, my daughter, boyfriend and I really like when waits on us.“
“Great deals for lunch specials. My favorite sushi and teriyaki dishes. They’ve had fresh ingredients every time I’ve eaten there. Yummy fried ice cream. The people working there are all nice and attentive over the phone and in person. My favorite sushi spot in the area, I even travel to eat there whenever I’m remotely “
“Got the sushi/roll platter and it was absolutely delicious. Fish was very fresh and rice was well seasoned. Our interaction was short but the staff is very friendly and even helped us open the door when we were leaving. 10/10 will come back.“
“I work at a recently opened physical therapy clinic down the road, and this place is my go-to for lunch & dinner.I like to get chicken teriyaki with white rice all the time, great portion size, taste amazing, and very affordable!Highly recommend!“
“My favorite omakase place thus far!!! Been here 3 times and all my friends that I brought loved it as well. Chef Kin made our experience so exquisite. Def will be coming back!Came back again and wanted to praise Chef Sam! After a disappointing experience in Times Square location, I wanted to show my bf the experience I always had in Bayside. He was very welcoming and accommodating. He took his time to explain the whole process to my bf who is new to omakase and we both loved it. Everyone at the bayside location is professional and very accommodating. Much appreciated!!!“
“Sushi was pretty tasty, I ordered it for take out. The worker that was helping me was very friendly. One thing I would suggest is that part of their menu on Ubereats or some other platforms arent suppose to be on there anymore due to the fact that they don't do lunch special rolls anymore.“
“The owner is so nice! Since my partner and I are both teachers, a lot of the time we get there late and miss the ordering window. Instead, the owner told us to call him whenever we wanted sushi and he'd have it ready for us! Not only this, but the sushi always tastes and looks amazing! Highly recommend paying this business a visit.“
“I took my girlfriend here on a whim, she just wanted sushi. Ended up being the best sushi she’s had in Queens. The $60 omakase was so good we actually went back maybe a week later, which is really saying something cause we always try to go somewhere different. If you’re looking for a good meal at a place that doesn’t get crazy busy in the Astoria area - definitely worth it. Also the chicken katsu is awesome, it’s like two huge chicken pieces cut up.“
“Had some very tasty japanese food at Sapps in LIC. I was a fan of the apps we ordered: tako wasabi, rock shrimp, miso cod, skewers. The rock shrimp especially was a standout.Alsoo you can never go wrong with the sushi + sashimi platter, just look at those thick cuts of fish ?“
“The service is great, the food is delicious and the presentation is even better! I ordered their lunch chicken teriyaki Benton box . A plate like this would cost $35 plus dollars in Manhattan but in Jamaica NY it was less than $20.The picture doesn’t include the Thai tea I ordered and the salad that comes with the bento box.The place is clean and the food presentation is exceptional.“
“A good amount of ramen bowl for the price you pay. Taste wise its good at best, comes with a wide variety of sauces and oil to add on to.Shrimp tempuras and soft shell carb were amazing both in terms of size and the crispy textures.Their curry chicken katsu bowl is a must have if you stop by.“
“Great Japanese traditional food. Their obanzai (appetizer) menu changes daily and is very tasty. They have really good sashimi as well, I recommend their kaisen don. And the grilled fish teishoku plate is delicious too. Feels super authentic.“
“First off the food here is great. I've been here once before and had to bring the extended family to try and as remembered the food is excellent. It's a new spin on Korean food, you will find traditional also. There is just so much on the menus that I have not even come close to scratching the surface of it. Our server Jennifer is very attentive and offers opinions on what is popular since there is so much to digest. Must try and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good creative Korean food.“
“Stopped at Mira Sushi on the way to JFK. Atmosphere was great, very welcoming the second you enter, no wait. Menu is extensive, lots of delicious options for food and drink at reasonable prices. Food was absolutely delicious, everything was fresh and tasty. Service was great too. There was never a time where we were waiting to be helped. Employees are very friendly. 10/10 would recommend.“
“This location is near my place and I always see it when I pass by. Tonight I felt like stopping by to pick an order to go. The place looks a cool spot to hang with friends and family and super clean and helpful. I skimmed thru the menu quick and the Karaage Curry caught my eye since it was a curry dish !!! I must say the food was good! However, it was a big disappointment in which there was no curry ..? Just some sweet sauce drizzled on the chicken katsu. I was really looking forward to this dish/my dinner but the curry was a no show! Kindly can do better with this dish by actually adding the curry sauce!!“
“It’s a nice place for weekend to have lunch with friends. Quite and soft music can chill out the day. We have fried calamari, scallions pancakes, Hawaii salmon and dragon ball. We highly recommend the Hawaii salmon if you are salmon lover.“
“One of my favorite restaurant.Small space to dine in , but it is not big deal at all! Enjoied sushi for lunch. I will come over for over rice next time. See ya! Ohhh,You can get 5% off when you pay by cash.Vegetarian options: They have vege rolls and Tufu teriyaki. Also, vege udon. Salads… and maybe more“
“Amazing food. To be honest, I am not the type of person who eats raw food but this restaurant still keeps me hanging out with my friends, most of them like to eat raw fish. Here at Kondo provide you with a variety of cooked food. The restaurant is decorated minimal style which is nice and the services are nice.“
“It was a great show. I can’t imagine this as a great food but every thing is better with unlimited saki and amazing companies. My wife and I had a great time. It wasn’t hard to find just under staircase and you felt transported out of New York. The food is amazing. They put up a great show and quality is reasonable. I enjoy the food but you can really drunk with the saki.Amazing restaurant and definitely a visit if you are in town. Experience depends on the host.“
