“First time eating Georgian food and Marani was an excellent introduction. The tomato-based beef soup was flavorful and comforting, the lula kebab was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the lamb shank over potatoes was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Generous portions, quality ingredients, and a great overall experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes from the menu.“

“Avellino’s is more than just a restaurant — it’s a part of my story. It’s the backdrop to some of my most cherished childhood memories: sitting at the corner table with a cheese pizza and a Snapple, watching in awe as the owners spun dough high into the air, shaping it with effortless grace. Birthday parties, small victories, everyday moments — they all seemed to orbit around that warm, familiar space. Today, July 10th, 2025, marked something extraordinary: over 30 years since my family and I last stepped through those doors. I’m 41 now — a far cry from the 15-year-old girl who once called this place her second home. And yet, the moment I returned, it all came flooding back. The same faces, the same warmth. The owners, still so kind, took a moment to walk down memory lane with me — flipping through photos, laughing about the little curly-haired girl who practically grew up there. What they may not realize is that they left a lasting imprint on my life. Their kindness, the comfort of that corner table, the joy of the food — it all shaped me in ways words can barely touch. Avellino’s, thank you. Thank you for being a constant in a world that changes too fast. You’ll always be a part of me, and I’ll never, ever forget you. P.S. — Still the best pizza I’ve ever had“

“Hello 👋 I have also been coming here since I was a teenager. The kitchen is always very clean and the food is also very good quality tender steak and real chicken. I always get the steak burrito or combo lunch platter. Prices are affordable and very friendly husband and wife family run restaurant. Its way better than taco bell 🔔 in my opinion you cant really compare this place to a fast food chain but if your looking for fresh good tasting food this is a good choice.“

“This place is an underrated gem that I hope becomes a sleeper hit. This is my family's favorite restaurant on 63rd Drive, & has become our go-to for whenever we wanna dine out. 💖 Omakase Ramen is family owned & operated!!
Service is kind & quick. They're a little shy, but with some jokes they crack open a bit - if you are someone who likes to have a conversation while dining. If you get to meet Anna, tell her how much you appreciate the food, as she's the main cook & the dishes are mostly her recipes! There are some tiny grammatical errors in the dine-in menu of a few items, but they don't affect the understanding of the dish/drink name. There are 5 wide screen HD tvs throughout the restaurant, & if you ask they can put up the volume of the tv. With so many tvs, comfy couch-style seating, & the opportunity to put up the volume of each individual tv, this is the PERFECT place to watch sports games!! Currently they're showing all the World Cup/Mundial games! ⚽
The decor & layout of the restaurant is also so cute, it's perfect for a date or a nice meal with your parents. It's styled like an outdoor restaurant in downtown Hong Kong in the 80s. ✨ You'll really notice the lovely detailing when looking up at the ceiling, it extends to the back of the restaurant! The women's bathroom is also IMMACULATE, I think this is the cleanest while simultaneously cutest bathroom I've ever seen in my life, it is thAt clean.
A few plates are a bit overpriced for Queens, but most are GREAT prices for the quality & portions. Each dish is also presented very nicely, especially the maki rolls & ramen bowls, they're so picturesque! 😍 Comparable in aesthetics to those of restaurants in Manhattan! Our favorite dishes to order here are, in order: Pad Sew Ew>Tonkotsu Ramen>Shoyu Ramen>Thai Pepper Steak (lunch special)>3 maki rolls (lunch special). The napkins are also super cute with rose prints & are a thick fabric-like thickness.
We ADORE the teas. The BEST bobas along 63rd Drive no question. The cups are a good size & the quality of the ingredients - especially the taro, is great!! The taro seems to be made with taro puree rather than powder, a rarity these days. The lychee tea with coconut jelly is VERY refreshing & unique, it's our favorite fruit tea! The Kumquat lemon is a close second. The Thai tea is unfortunately nothing special, it's lacking in flavor especially in comparison to the other stellar teas.
I once made a pick-up order of teas & mentioned on the phone that I will be going into Manhattan, & the teas were packaged extra securely at no extra cost. These little details are what puts the bow on any restaurant with great food, & turns the whole restaurant into an experience worth returning to!“

“I had guests visiting from out of state, so we decided to check out the local restaurants. We ordered fried dumplings, lagman, chicken kebab, avocado salad, home-made bread, and a pot of tea. It was insanely delicious—we ate until we were stuffed. And we paid just $40 for dinner for the three of us! In the reviews, people say they’ve been coming here for years. Looks like this is now my favorite spot, too.“

“Been eating here for years. Used to be a in a spot by Dry Harbor Road. Always had the best chinese around even by my family's standard and always delivered freshness compared tobthe competition. They have excellent customer service on the phone and in person. Even when they get slammed, they manage to get food to me in good condition. There are some hard working people here and it shows in the food and service. They got hit with a fire in their original spot a while back but came back and I had to come back too. The other spots around just werent up to par while they were gone. Jade Bamboo is underrated in my opinion and deserve recognition.“

“Tandoor is back! After a period of inconsistency with their chicken tikka masala, we took a break for a while, but we ordered again today. It was better than ever - the chicken was tender and the sauce was perfectly flavored - and the garlic naan was fresh!
I’ve tried chicken tikka in several other places (looking for the same flavor), and I haven’t found one better! Please don’t change the recipe!!! We look forward to ordering again soon! Thank you!“

“J & D Pizzeria is our family's absolute favorite spot! My little daughters and I come here every Saturday, and they refuse to eat anywhere else. The pizza is always fresh, delicious, and made with top-quality ingredients. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel like part of the family every time we visit. The cozy atmosphere and consistently excellent service keep us coming back week after week. If you're looking for the best pizza in town, look no further than J & D Pizzeria!“

“At Chicken Shack in Rego Park, God is a chicken.
He turns slowly on a rotisserie, basting himself in his own perfection. The skin glows. The aroma rises.
The first bite carries a strange certainty, as though you have wandered into a truth that had been waiting patiently for you. The chicken is impossibly juicy. Every bite feels righteous.
You begin to wonder if perhaps this was always the plan. That somewhere, somehow, a chicken willingly gave everything so your Tuesday afternoon could be touched by grace.
Maybe he died for your delicious needs.
Some people spend their lives searching for God. I found Him in Rego Park, accompanied by mac and cheese and maduros.“

“Everything there is always tasty and well cooked. Well, prepared presented well. The only thing I can complain about or maybe hope they change a bit is sometimes the young lady in the front and all the waiters seem to have an attitude. But overall, there, good prices are a bit higher than they were about a year ago.But what can you do?Food's always good lots of it.I'll recommend eating there. If you have an opportunity“

“I had an amazing experience at Don Alex! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome.
The food was absolutely incredible—full of flavor and clearly made with care. The ceviche was fresh and perfectly balanced with citrus, and the lomo saltado was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Every dish tasted authentic and delicious.
The service was attentive without being overwhelming, and everything came out in a timely manner. It’s the kind of place you can go for a casual meal or a special night out.
I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Don Alex to friends and family. If you’re looking for great Peruvian food, this spot is a must-try!“

“I've never written a review before but after ordering from Knish Nosh, I had to. I've never in my life tasted such amazing food like this and to be honest I'm very critical and hard to please when it comes to food so like always I was waiting to either be let down or not that impressed but I was shocked I live in the City and I order from these guys 2 sometimes 3 times a week. I'm trying to get in touch with the owner, I'm willing to invest in Knish Nosh opening in the City! Simone E“
