I was on the upper east side looking for refuge from the 100 degree weather when Avoca appeared. I was fortunate to discover this fine bar/restaurant. When I entered the place it had just opened its doors but I was heartily welcomed. My cocktail of choice, Tanqueray and tonic was done to my liking. The staff, owner, and overall vibe create a welcoming environment, making it an ideal choice for brunch or group gatherings. Reservations are recommended as it can get busy, but overall, it’s a great place for a decent meal. The restaurant also offers a dark and intimate atmosphere with enough lighting and great music, perfect for celebrating special occasions.
