“Went here 10 years ago and pleased to say that it's still just as good! Just more expensive now (I paid 16), but that's the current times. Maybe because I'm older , I appreciate fish even more now. I got a regular cod and chips. Fish was soft and flaky , crispy batter. That tartar sauce is crack ! Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. This is a great spot for your fish and chips craving. The establishment is a bit hot and toasty inside though. There are seats outside , or you can go to the nearby park to enjoy your meal.“

J & M's Seafood • $$

“This is no longer a seafood place, they sell Dominican food and the owners are having difficulty changing the name from fish and shrimp to their name. Came by and the food is the best. Too bad they can’t change the name because they’d be doing better otherwise.“

The staff were friendly & efficient. The fish, shrimp & chicken combo with fries was a hit! One of my companions ordered the fish sandwich - it looked so good, and my friend stated she enjoyed it.“

“Title: Terrace Fish & Chips: A Pleasant Surprise in Lower ManhattanReview:Dinner at Terrace Fish & Chips on Pearl Street was a refreshing change from the usual bustling eateries of New York. The place had a bare-bones setup with seating that's hard to come by, hinting at an almost exclusive experience for those who stumble upon it.It struck me odd that a restaurant in such a busy slice of the city would be so quiet at 4:15 p.m., but the peace was welcome. One person was holding down the fort, but his demeanor was warm and professional, ensuring my meal was on the table without delay.Diving into the menu, the choice was simple—the day's special caught my attention. The Fried Flounder with Fresh Fries came out piping hot and in abundance. The flounder was fried to a satisfying crispness, hiding the tender fish within, while the fries maintained their crisp even as they cooled—a pleasing duo by any measure. However, the fried calamari I added on the side didn't quite hit the mark. It was missing the expected burst of taste, which contrasted with the otherwise flavorful meal.I washed it all down with a diet coke—the only option since the place doesn't serve alcohol, which suited me just fine. The presentation was no-frills, with the meal served in simple takeaway containers accompanied by disposable utensils. This was ideal for me, especially needing a quick bite after a trip to Staten Island and heading home. So, if you're around the Ferry Terminal and need a fast, delicious seafood dish, this spot could be worth the stop. Although the calamari was a bit of a letdown, the rest of the meal made up for it, and the overall experience was enjoyable. I give it four stars for the food and the hassle-free dining experience.“

“Great seafood in Hamilton Heights. I normally order the 2 piece Salmon Steak with Spanish rice and Tostones. Most the time, Delivery is through GrubHub. This time around, I decided to order for pickup. I wanted to see the restaurant. It's take out only. My order wasn't ready when I got there and I had to wait 10 extra minutes for the food. At least the food was hot and the staff was friendly.“

“I haven't been back in almost 15 years or more.Used to come here at least once week. It's a family owned business run by Erick Strickland a really nice gentleman. He's the nephew of the original owner I read somewhere. They have fried fish shrimp, clam strips, fries and a great fish sandwich .The fish is smothered in flour and batter made of a secret family recipe fried and wrapped between two slices of whole wheat bread. It's a generous amount of fish served with tartar sauce on the side. You can taste lemon, black pepper amd its fresh.I also picked up the fried shrimp and fish comb. Everything was so good. I did share this with a friend.Parking: It's street parking..most folks double park and go get it. If you go during the day you can find parking in the neighborhood. After work it's going to be hardThere's a subway stop right next to it, which is prob best“

“I've been coming here for over 10 years and they never disappoint. I only get the grilled salmon and vegetables. This time I ordered four pieces with vegetables. It was a lot of food and they graciously put it in a large pan. It has fed two of us for lunch and dinner for two days so far and we still have food remaining. The service was quick. It took about twenty minutes for the food to be ready.“

It was refreshing to be greeted with such genuine hospitality, making dinner even more enjoyable. I immediately ordered exactly what I had been craving for. THE ORIGINAL THISTLE FISH & CHIPS! Satisfying my craving was precisely what I was aiming for. Perfection in a delightful crispy batter, paired with golden "chips" fries, tater sauce and coleslaw. [Don't be shy to ask for more tartar sauce.] It's a BYOB spot, so don't forget your favorite bottle of wine or beer, which goes great with fish! I'll be sure to bring a bottle the next time I go. “Mostly crunchy coating on the calamari- it's not flaky like most other places, instead it's crumb-y (see pic for reference). Good flavor in the crust, and the squid pieces were cut from an actual whole squid, so you get fun little pointy pieces too. The squid itself was on the softer side, not as chewy as squid usually is. The marinara sauce was very disappointing, tasted watery (and just sorta bad). The portion size was a bit smaller than I would have liked. Ordered on ubereats ahead of time, but I don't think they started making it until I showed them I was there to pick up my order. I would recommend just showing up and ordering at the counter, you save on extra processing fees and you don't lose much on time. Inside has a few tables and chairs in front of the counter, enough to seat a little more than 10 people max I'd estimate. The owners/employees seem nice and efficient.“
