“This is our go-to takeout spot for Central American food uptown! Not only is the food always amazing but the prices are more reasonable than many of the other options. We love the pupusas and the tacos!!! And they are so sweet to always accommodate us if we want certain ingredients omitted. Amazing food and service.“
“I really like traditional breakfasts, I always order the ranchero eggs, beans, cream and I add ripe banana, the pupusas are also good, especially the scrambled ones.Moderate atmosphere, the place is a little small but not to the point of feeling uncomfortable, at times they play music and it gives it a different tone, the attention of the girls is very good.?“
“I stopped by on my way home from the gym. I order an al pastor burrito. It was really seasoned well and flavorful. It wasn't small and it wasn't huge either. It was a good size. I left feeling full but not stuffed. I'm looking forward to trying their tacos.“
“We have been going to eat at this restaurant for 14 years, the place where he took me to meet my father, may he rest in peace and in his memory we still go, it hurts to go without Don Esteban Zapata, the owners are very good people, they loved my father very much, the staff is very good. Excellent attention and service ?.“
“Best pupusas in New York City. Everything they serve is home made and following authentic recipes from El Salvador. The pickled cabbage that comes with the pupusas is so delicious. The couple that owns this restaurant also prepare Mexican food and drinks. Tamarind and horchata drinks make me remember with warmth the food of my childhood in Santa Ana. I highly recommend Ricas Pupusas to anyone that wants to enjoy traditional food from El Salvador.“
“The food is AMAZING !!! was a last minute thing and we are so happy we went ! Taste so authentic, and family owned. Out family had an amazing time ! Fries , Barria tacos , horchata, burritos.. all recommended! We will be back to try there pupusas. “
“Passed by here earlier today and all i got to say is that it was an amazing experience with amazing pupusas it was unreal, repollo was 10/10, i enjoyed the atmosphere and the lovely paintings on the wall. Great prices as well, will definitely come back soon because these pupusas are the best in the state for sure.“
“It was our first time trying Salvadorian food and must say, we were very impressed!! The pupusas (stuffed flatbread made out of corn or rice flour) were incredible. We tried two different varieties - Loroco (a herb) with cheese and squash with cheese. There are several vegetarian filling options for the pupusas. We also had the pechuga a la plancha (chicken breast) and the typical breakfast. Both were delicious, with such a great mix of flavours. They also sell many local snacks and drinks. Overall, we loved this place and it felt great trying out a new cuisine.Vegetarian options: Pupusas (flatbread made out of corn or rice flour) have many vegetarian selections. Two other dishes available for vegetarians.“
“DELICIOUS 100% SALVADORAN FOOD!!! DELICIOUS BREAKFASTS, LUNCHES; THE CHEESE PUPUSAS WITH LOROCO, CHICHARRON, REVUELTAS, ETC, ARE FINGER-LICKING!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE, VERY FRIENDLY THEY MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME!!! VERY CLEAN AND TIDY RESTAURANT WITH SANITARY SERVICES FOR MEN AND WOMEN; PAYMENT FORMS EITHER CASH OR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS ALSO APPLE PAY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10 OF 10 AS A SALVADORAN I HAVE A LITTLE PIECE OF MY LAND IN WOODSIDE QUEENS... ELEGANT“
“I love the place, excellent service, the food is super delicious, very exquisite, a very clean place, good music ? I am Colombian and I love beef soup, it looks like the stew from my land. ?? and fish fascinates me, I recommend it from the bottom of my heart ?.“
“There's is no better place to eat than at La Casona in Union City NJ. The price is reasonable, atmosphere, service and the food is fantastic. The price is right. Forget about paying 16 $ for arroz con picallado .Here at La Casona you will only pay $10.00 Check their daily price for the weekly cheap menu. No more that $ 11.00BYOB“
“The place is very clean, the attention of the waiters is excellent, we have gone to eat there several times, one of those times my daughter ordered chicken with slices and she didn't like it, I thought she was the one with the problem, we came back and I ordered chicken with slices And if I saw that she was right, the chicken with slice was nothing to see, the chicken doesn't feel fresh and on top of that paying $30 didn't seem fair to me, I will return to the place just for the pupusas because they are a delight,“
“Not your average hole in the wall restaurant…only the best pupusas in the TRI STATE AREA….if you love pupusas or if you never ever had them before and want to try only the best this is a must go to….try the corn mushroom and bean one they are the best to “
“Been eating from this family run business for more than 35 years amd they've been selling their amazing food longer than that! I've introduced countless friends and whenever they're in town during the spring/summer months eating here is one of their first stops. Pupusas are what they're known for but everything they sell is top notch to include their drinks!!“
“The food here was delicious. I had a papa rellena and a chicken pupusas in addition to the mixed ones and also got a taste of my husbands baleadas. All around great food and strong flavors. It's a nice vibe decor wise and staff are super friendly. You can tell the food was made with love.“
“Small place but they do offer outdoor seating. Food was amazing had a shrimp pupusa and I must say it was delicious. They are very generous with the amount of cheese in the pupusas. I would definitely go again and bring friends and family to try it out.“
“Stopped by today to dine in with my mom and I just had to leave a review. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was fresh and super tasty. The service was incredible, I loved everything. And let me also say that everything in the restaurant was SPOTLESS. I don’t think I’ve seen a cleaner restaurant. 10/10“
“We ordered carnita tacos and the presentation was very good, although the meat was a little too salty, you could eat it, the atmosphere is like a bar where you can go to talk with friends but it is also familiar. In conclusion it is nothing wow but it is not the worst either so you can pass on the customer service is good.“
“CASH ONLY.We ordered the rice and bean with chorizo (comes mixed with eggs) and salad plate, along with a pupusa. Server also asked if we wanted cheese and cream. The food was amazing. Really enjoyed the salad (cabbage) that helped balance the oiliness and saltiness of the flavors. We came with only $20 in our pockets. Total came out to be $16.10.Would recommend if youre in the area.“
“Walked to this restaurant/bar twice from my hotel while on business from the Midwest. I don’t speak Spanish, yet all the patrons and staff do! Everyone was super friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in music, people and food heavily influenced by the Caribbean & Central America. Prices were reasonable, food was great, but the friendly/happy vibe was the best part. I’ll be back…“
“This is my family’s favorite take out and dine in Salvadorian restaurant. The food is always delicious and fresh tasting. When you dine in, the service is great. It is byob, but I do recommend bringing your own cups because their wine glasses are limited. We always order their pupusas and the sopa de res.Kid-friendliness: It’s not rowdy like most Central American restaurants. The music is at a perfect volume and the atmosphere is friendly. Definitely kid friendly.“

“This place is always quite good. Actually, what really jumps at you is the service. Fast, and extremely friendly. The food is consistently good while nothing re-invents the wheel. Traditional Colombian dishes generously served and tasty. My favorite, whenever talking Colombian, is the bandeja paisa. White rice topped w 2 fried eggs, escorted by chicharron (fried pork rind), chorizo, avocado, maduros (sweet plantain), and steak. Nothing wrong with that. Daily specials are good as well, and deflect a slightly overpriced menu. Soups are done well and their sandwiches are reliable.“
“Omg. The Chicken and cheese pupusas are one of the best pupusas around the area. Aside from lorroco y queso ones. I recommend them. The chicken and cheese pupusas are well-made delicacies with a unique flavor and good ? ? apart from the lorroco and cheese ones ? ?“
“This is a rating for their Baleadas ! This is my 5th time having them and they haven't disappoint ? My go to here is the Baleada "Con Todo". It comes with refried beans, cream, scrambled eggs, steak, and avocado. Super tasty and we'll cooked ? i recommend you give it a shoot.Make sure you bring cash with you by the way. Unfortunately, they don't take cards for some reason.“

“Good service, the place looked clean and the food was delicious, the waitress was very friendly. They changed the green pepper for jalapeń because I asked for it?, the egg was very delicious, only the beans were salty. I would like that in my house (Las Cruces New Mexico), a community of pure retired gringos, there was a Salvadoran restaurant to continue eating their delicious breakfasts.“
“Very Central American place. Lol it's tiny but that's the way in the campo. The pupusas are delicious! I get the revueltas, mixed cheese and pork. They spicy pickled cabbages topping is acidic , salty, and spicy! The drink is tamarindo, a bit on the sweeter side. The service is not the best but they do respond if you call out . The decor is simple, only a few tables, more of a mom pop shop.“
“(Translated by Google) I recommend coming in person, it is a good place and the food is very rich and varied! Super empty food here!(Original)Recomiendo venir en persona, es un buen lugar y la comida es muy rica y variada !!! Súper vacano la comida aquí !“
“Any time I come to jersey, I make sure to stop by and indulge in some of the best Salvadorian cuisines. If you like Latin food then you'll love it here. My favorite is the Carne Asada. Never have I come across such tender and well marinated steak. I was literally able to cut it with a butter knife! The portions are large and the prices are low. As far as seating goes, well its a bit snug. But its always worth the visit. My family and I always leave with a full belly and a smile on our face. <3“
“Small and cozy, this little Washington Heights gem has home style Salvadoran dishes, beginning with pupusas (corn cakes stuffed with meat, beans, cheese, etc) topped with savory coleslaw. The chicken soup was just right on a cold winter night. Fried plantain, both ripe, sweet, and the starchy, salty green types, were on point. Rice and beans complete the meal.“
