“A rare 5 stars from me. Make sure you find him, he's in a row of random food stalls and is a bit nondescript compared to them.
Price is now $10 for falafel sandwich but still the best value meal in all Manhattan. Very generous with the fillings, cutlery and napkins etc and he also gave two pieces of fried dough with it which was a nice surprise.
Drinks priced very reasonably at $2 each only.
This stall practices all-in pricing so the price advertised is what you get. Hats off to it“

“It's going to sound like I know this guy but I don't. I go to Halal guys, but the smell from this truck just got the best of me. All 3 sauces, the rice, the veggies... STELLAR! The line wasn't unreasonable, there were about 5 people ahead and I still got my food within 15 mins. Honestly, this is one of those plates of food you take a cab for.
You guys made a forever customer out of me!“

“This is a food cart, but I’m still trying to find a better banh mi in the city! Recently tried some highly rated downtown options and let me tell you it was nothing compared to this cart! Also: very nice owner, great prices and freshness of ingredients.“

“We first heard about Tony’s on Jon Barr’s YouTube channel (prepping for our first NYC visit). Can only say that this is the perfect spot to get food, and then go eat it in Central Park.
Both times we visited the food was great, staff was very friendly & we received our orders within a couple of minutes.
The memorable comment from my girlfriend - “I want to move to NYC because of Tony’s”“

“If you’re looking for delicious halal food in NYC, this place is a must-visit.
Just a 7-minute walk from Times Square, it’s the perfect spot to grab some incredibly flavorful kebabs. Right across from the food cart, there’s a proper seating area where you can sit back, enjoy your meal, and soak in the hustle and bustle of New York City.
Highly recommended!“

“Absolutely blown away. I’ve had great tacos in all the regular spots in North America you’d expect to eat great tacos and these made me feel like I won the Wolrd Cup in Azteca Stadium and married the love of my life on the same day. I had no background on this spot. Never doubted that it would be tasty. But that first bite touched me in a way I’ve never been touched. Wow. Just go. Last meal worthy.“

“Chicken over rice bowl is $10 and sooo worth it. It's so good. Prepared quickly and efficiently. I would maybe go light on the red sauce as it is very spicy, or remove it altogether (if sensitive to spice.)
Sometimes the chicken pieces have a weird texture or could be grilled a bit better. But that might be a personal preference thing. Fries are really good.“

“Royal Grill Halal on 44th & 6th Ave is a true Midtown gem (I've worked nearby for 30 years). He’s the nicest vendor you’ll meet and the chicken and rice is incredibly flavorful and fresh, with generous portions and speedy, friendly service. Highly recommended for delicious food and a nice experience every time.“

“Delicious food! Prices were reasonable and the food was great. Service was good and atmosphere was not important since it’s just a food truck. I will also say that the location is very convenient being right next to the subway entrance and Columbia campus.“

“One of the best food trucks in NYC. Absolutely delicious and fresh food. If I were to make a list of top 10 food trucks in New York this would for sure be on that list. They serve actual steak and their chicken is phenomenal. Highly recommend stopping by here and giving them a try“

“Tucked into the buzzing streets of Hell’s Kitchen, Famous Halal Foods delivers exactly what New York street food is known for with its bold flavors, generous portions, and a personal touch that stays with you.
We went for their combo over rice, a hearty mix of tender chicken and flavorful meat served with rice, veggies, fries, and their signature sauces. The portion size was more than satisfying, and every bite packed a punch.
The combo gyro were equally impressive, well-stuffed, perfectly balanced, and ideal for a quick grab-and-go meal without compromising on taste. The flavors leaned toward the spicier side especially since we opted for extra spicy sauce but it only elevated the experience for those who enjoy a bit of heat.
What truly sets this place apart, was Mohammad Salim who the man behind the counter. His passion for cooking shines through in every dish. Warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable, he went the extra mile by offering us bottled water without us even asking. It’s rare to see someone who treats food not just as a business, but as a craft and a way to connect with people.
If you’re in the area and craving a quick, delicious, and soulful meal, this spot is absolutely worth a visit.“

“My favorite halal truck, truck period in the city! The portions are huge. I highly suggest getting mango habanero sauce on your platter. The monster platter is huge and a bang for your buck. I always invite my friends to come check it out and they love it.“

“For a food truck selling steak, with barely enough room for 2 cooks inside, this place delivers on flavor well and is a reasonable price to enjoy steak. They have a truck near Bryant as well.
The options on the menu do not go over 20 dollars. In today's inflated times, that's great. The steak you get is cut and served usually with fries or rice and veggies. It's a well-rounded meal and the portion is decent considering you are getting good steak. By that, I mean it's not a cheap, tough cut. It's actually good. And they have a bunch of sauces that go well with them.“
“Ame su comida, rica y hecha al momento a nuestro gusto. Dios los bendiga.“
“Listen. LISTEN. For me to search for this food truck on Google Maps after grabbing takeout, for the sole purpose of giving them a stellar review? You know that’s the best chicken biryani you’ve ever had. And I’m not saying that lightly. It was fluffy, perfectly cooked, generous with the protein, and a melt in your mouth flavour explosion. So good, in fact, that I might scrap other spots on my list and revisit this gem a few more times before the end of my trip. This place deserves more love!“

“I have been going to Tommy's food truck for the past 15 years, and I have to say that I have never had a meal that wasn't short of great!! From the grilled Chicken Caesar wrap to the Bacon cheeseburger ( On my cheat days of course;)). This food truck brings a taste of home to the streets of the West side. Tommy, and Armando treat every customer as if they were family. In a city with many food carts and trucks this is one place that's a must!!!“

“A popular food truck offering authentic mexican taco, burrito, and more. My favorite is the cochinita pibil, slow roasted pork shoulder marinated in citrus juice, tender and juicy. The tortilla is particularly soft, the taco portion is generous, two would make an easy meal or big snack. The seasoning is a bit light for my palate. Overall a delight option for the neighborhood and/or you happen to be in the East village craving for small eats.“

“Love it! I had Lengua, El Pastor, spicy pork, they all tasted great and authentic street tacos! I didn’t care about the service, the lady was kinda delayed serving we even without people waiting. Anyway I was there for the taste and that ain’t changing my desire eating there.“

“Popped in here whilst on a business trip with 2 colleagues. All had different sandwiches on Hero rolls. Quick, great service and sandwiches were great too. Sometimes there's two much of one ingredient, not enough of another but perfect combination. We only came here on our last day, wish it had been our first, would probably have come every day“

“This cart is the gold standard. My son and I got lamb over rice and it was absolutely perfect. The lamb is tender and flavorful, and they use quality ingredients. The prices are very reasonable—this is our go to food cart in NYC. I am told this is an award winning food cart—it is well deserved!“

“Al pastor and fish tacos were superb, birria taco was underwhelming and I wouldn’t recommend it.
I did notice the Al pastor used what was probably a cheaper cut of meat, but they make up for it with balanced seasoning and filling ingredients + generous avocado salsa“
