“Had an amazing dinner at Junoon! The atmosphere is elegant and cozy. The staff was friendly and knew the menu well. Every dish was full of rich, authentic flavors, and the presentation was beautiful. Loved the creative desserts too. Definitely a top spot for Indian fine dining in NYC!“

“After eating so much (pizza etc )we needed to eat something different, spicy and booked this gem,as it as near to our hotel. It was also our 40th wedding anniversary. We are from U.K. This was amazing perfectly cooked tasty home made authentic Indian cuisine. We had mocktails ( lavender was refreshing ). The tandoori lamb chops x4 were full meat seasoned beautifully and delicious. All other sides perfect too. Now in U.K. we hate restaurant Indian puddings they are usually bought in and awful/failure. After finding out the chef is the owner and a recipient Michelin star we were convinced to stay, try and this was the first time we have had authentic home made puddings; try Kulfi with rose water & also Indian rice pudding. The whole meal was exceptional great value and we will recommend this restaurant to anyone else visiting New York. Easy to find off Times Square /Broadway. Thanks for the rendition “ congratulations “ for our 40th. You are great ! A little gem of authenticity in big New York !“

“Absolutely amazing meal! Was recommended to us by a friend, and we recommend it to you. A quick walk from our Broadway show, the meal was a perfect night cap. The mango margaritas were the perfect combo of sweet and spice; the cauliflower appetizer was bold and perfectly crunchy; the aloo gobi was wonderfully catered to our spice level and still full of flavor; the flaan was to die for. Resturant manager Rakesh Arban did an awesome job taking care of us. The atmosphere included colorful decor, mellow ambiance, and easy to talk to one another despite a somewhat full resturant.
There are stairs down to the entrance door. There are two single stall restrooms. The price was very reasonable given it's location and portion sizes.“

“An excellent hidden gem in the midst of busy midtown. A touch of mystery behind velvet curtains where felt red booth couches await in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The set up is chic and not cluttered with tables well spaced for the quiet work lunch. We went for restaurant week, and had the chicken tandoori starter which was perfectly spiced and delicious, followed by lamb curry which was tender, soaked in flavour, accompanied by garlic naan and rice. Staff are friendly and service oriented, in lusing the host. I cannot fault anything. Will definitely make this a regular spot to try the other items on the menu.“

“I was pleasantly surprised with the great meal I had here. I would give it 5 stars but one of appetizers was below par (pani puri)but the rest of the dishes were excellent. The Hoth paan drink was super tasty!! Worth going to even though a tad expensive but it’s NYC!“

“Ate here today with friends. We got the cauliflower and achari chicken kebabs as apps. The cauliflower was meh but the chicken was excellent. Great pickled flavor and well cooked. I got the teekan murg, another friend got the jackfruit Biryani, and the third got lamb saag. The teekan marg was basically chicken cooked in a tomato-based spicy sauce that tasted like it featured scotch bonnets. It was advertised as Caribbean influenced. It was incredible! Very spicy (spicier than any Indian food I’ve had in NYC except the Brick Lane phaal—which is specifically cooked for a spicy food eating challenge) but also very peppery and great. The jackfruit biryani was also great—the jackfruit served its purpose well as a meat substitute. The saag was fine—not amazing but totally good. Highly recommended!“

“I had my birthday party with Passerine and it was incredible! The event coordinator McQueenie, all the waitstaff, our server Catie, the host and sommelier, every single person was absolutely amazing. Some of the best service I have ever received and the food was divine.
I highly recommend the aloo dumplings and cabbage. They surprised me the most. The cook on all the meat was beyond perfect. The beef melted in my mouth and the chicken was perfectly tender. Chef Shetty is a genius. We had a 3 course prix fixe and they printed custom menus for me with my name in the header! That was a lovely souvenir for us to take home. Every dish was 10/10. Thank you Passerine for the best birthday!
Passerine is vegetarian and halal friendly. They also have mocktails and teas for those that don't drink!“

“I heard that it’s really hard to get reservations but I luckily snag one. My fav appetizer is the shrimp. The railway chicken curry is the best dish. I was disappointed with roasted pineapple, nothing special. The rose ice cream is the highlight!“

“From the outside, one might think this a food hall of sorts. Its definitely more of a hub for food delivery services. There were countless pickup orders and, including us, 2 other tables that came to sit and eat. The atmosphere has grande ceilings with floor to ceiling windows with bar seating running along and maybe 8 tables. There are hard-copy menus and touchscreen stations to order but the choices are countless; resulting in a time consuming firt-timer experience. There's 1 kitchen that pumps out separate restaurant menu items. The food was ok. I got a Mexican-style chicken bowl that was crossed with another restaurants curry chicken; bites here and there were different. My husband got an Asian-style chicken fried rice bowl that came out cold. 2nd attempt was saturated in sesame oil and inedible. We didn't realize it at the time but Amex Gold got rid of Goldbelly, replaced by Wonder; big mistake in our opinion as Goldbelly is worldwide and Wonder is limited to big-city access for a lesser quality product.“

“Butter chicken, goat doori kebab is to die for. Roomali Roti - just had it after ages. No doubt NYC has an Indian restaurant which can compete with the likes of Dum Pukht in India.“

“I had the Murg Makhani...which is grilled chicken in a tomato butter sauce. Expertly spiced and absolutely delish...and I finished off the sauce with a combination of garlic and butter naan. I cooled my palate with Tak Mahal beer. A wonderful experience! BTW: the service was outstanding.“

“Chola is easily the best Indian restaurant in all of Manhattan and Northern Jersey. My wife and I drive in bi-weekly for their awesome food and ever changing menu. The staff is incredible and friendly, we've gotten to know them all and consider them personal friends at this point. Any time we can, we take friends and family to Chola. It's is the best!“

“I ordered the chicken masala and veggie biryani. Chicken masala was Great! There was an Indian spice in the veggie biryani that I never had it before. The manager/owner was very nice/understanding and replaced my veggie order with a lamb dish which I prefer. I will definitely dine in and order for delivery , and can't wait to try other dishes. Thank you!“

“Service was impeccable! We ordered take out at the restaurant, but they let us sit at the bar and offered a glass of water. Both of our curries were outstanding, rice was standard, but the naan was a bit chewy. The nice gentlemen even gave us a complementary mango lassi! Will be coming back if we’re in NYC again. 😊“

“The man that worked there was so nice to us, and gave us great service. However, the food had absolutely no seasoning and needed salt. I was disappointed after seeing it all over social media, and reading the great reviews
Edit - the samosas are very good though“

“Cozy, intimate atmosphere. The service and presentation were wonderful. We had Tamarind Scallops and Chili Crab for appetizers. The crab was phenomenal and my favorite of all the dishes we ordered. For mains, we had Zameen Doz and Punjabi Tikhe Kebab with Malai Naan. The Dover sole was delicious and the pasanda sauce perfect for dipping the naan. The chicken was tender, juicy and so good! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and were treated to a birthday dessert by our very attentive and kind waiter.“

“This place is something special. The butter chicken was rich, vibrant, and absolutely unforgettable. The garlic naan was delicate, perfectly cooked, and incredibly delicious. The raita and tamarind chutney brought the perfect balance to every bite. What truly stands out is the clarity and depth of the flavors. Every spice comes through in a way that feels clean, bright, and intentional. The service was warm and genuine, making it feel like you were sitting in someone’s home! We will be back!!“

“We visited this place for dinner on a whim while we were in New York, and we’re so glad we did. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with Indian music playing in the background, which added a lovely and authentic touch to the experience.
The food was not just good it was truly delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We ordered saag paneer , Dal Makhni, and Naan, and each dish was excellent. The portion sizes were generous and satisfying as well.
A special mention to Mr. Deep and his Sister for their wonderful hospitality. They made sure our visit was memorable and comfortable.
I would definitely recommend this family run restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian food. Absolutely loved it 😍“

“Rudraks on the upper west side is a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious unique but familiar. The restaurant is cozy and people seem to really enjoy their time… having nice conversations. I have seen groups of families, couples and also individuals going to have a reasonably priced lunchtime meal Today. We had delicious lunchtime meal for $15 which included an entrée bread, rice, lentils, and dessert. You really can’t be that price and the food is really delicious not oily not greasy and the service is super kind and they make you feel like a very special customer. Thanks very much for such an enjoyable experience.“

“Stopped for lunch on a rainy Sunday with the granddaughter. Angaar was a wonderful experience. Quaint, impeccable, and excellent service. We were seated at one of four tables on the ground floor (looked like more seating on the 2nd level). The chicken saag, chicken with cashews, and naan were perfect - well-seasoned and hot from the kitchen. A special treat in the UWS!“

“Well! All I can say is “I felt like Home”. Super cozy vibe, great service and excellent food combos. Cheers to the team! 🍛“
“This is a beautiful restaurant which gives great vibes. The staff is very nice and makes your experience very well. The atmosphere is top notch because of the music, designs, and it reflects the Indian culture. Tejas and his team was very helpful with serving food and helping us order.
The Chaanp at Musaafer is easily one of the best lamp chops ever. These lamb chops are incredibly tender and hit that perfect balance between a smoky and a juicy taste. The blend of Indian spices is bold but doesn't overpower the meat, which makes it unique. It’s a must order if you’re looking for a standout dish that’s both rich and flavorful.“

“One of the best Indian restaurants in NYC and a big step up from the sister restaurant Semma. The food here is delicious, satisfying, with decent portions and excellent presentation. The food is great, and it’s a special experience. Staff are friendly, the service is great. The cocktails are presented very nicely, but nothing wowed us. I’m here for the food and the service - and I couldnt be happier with that!“
