“Delicious authentic Indian cuisine with flavours actually doing a dhamaka - explosion of flavors as you eat it. Great service. One feedback - for such a happening restaurant the restroom is quite shoddy“

“We’ve now been twice and we can’t wait to go back for a 3rd time soon. Foremost, the space is so beautifully decorated. You’re really transported back to the NY speakeasy days of the early 1900s. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the Daisy’s southern bits, roaring 20s Shrimp, Chilean sea bass, lamb chops, duck vindaloo…AND coconut naan. All were perfectly executed! Lastly, and you can’t miss these…the desserts are out of control. Chocolate cake and Guava Cheesecake!! You gotta save room. Alex also provided us with top notch service. We love this place!“

“We tried almost all of the small plates and large dishes. They were all hits with my favorite being the pulled lamb. The atmosphere is incredible and the chef stopped by our table multiple times to ensure we were having a stellar experience.“

“Small space, but packed with flavor! The big rowdy sandwich was amazing, the chicken which was cooked to perfection (even better than Chick-fil-A (a personal favorite)). It’s definitely a sandwich that you can’t put down after you’ve picked it up. All of the flavors combine so well for an amazing sandwich. Thank you!“

“We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“

“Butter chicken, goat doori kebab is to die for. Roomali Roti - just had it after ages. No doubt NYC has an Indian restaurant which can compete with the likes of Dum Pukht in India.“

“The best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. I have visited this spot multiple times over the years and it never disappointed. They take pride in their food. It can be a bit pricey but
It’s worth EVERY penny.
The butter chicken and saag paneer are out of this world.“

I am adding to this review since I came back a lot sooner than I thought. Here’s what I had and it was amazing. Again, this such a great addition to our restaurant line up in the area. Don’t miss it. “The food at Passerine is delicious, though the portions are on the smaller side. The ambiance is truly outstanding—clearly a lot of thought went into creating such a welcoming and stylish space. I used to frequent the previous restaurant in this location, SONA, and I have to say the bartenders there were exceptional. It might be worth considering bringing back some of that talent to elevate the bar experience even further“

“A bit of an icon in modern-Punjabi culture.
Firstly, when I visited, it was a blisteringly cold day, but I was saved by the warmth of the masala cha and the chickpea dish.
The food and drink was great and it is not overpriced either.
In terms of being iconic, many of us have seen pictures of the deli on Adidas adverts, in music videos and the sorts so it became an interesting place to visit. Not only are the people nice to talk to, they are funny too which makes the experience that ever much better.
Highly recommended“

“I celebrated my birthday with my best friend, and we started with aloo tikki chaat and paneer tikka for appetizers, followed by malai kofta and garlic naan for the main course. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff provided excellent service. Towards the end of the meal, my friend surprised me by coordinating with the restaurant staff to celebrate my birthday, making it an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.“

“Great Indian food in the neighborhood. The food was rich with many flavors and came really fast. It was obvious it was all hand made like the samosa which had an original filling.
We took the kebab, a dish of palak paneer and dal makhani. Everything was super tasty. The garlic naan was also great.
We sat downstairs which was cosy and really felt like being in India again!
The only problem was the door which was opening up all the time and it was a bit cold for my taste.
Definitely will be back again!“

“I ordered ahead and picked up my Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl for lunch, which was really quick and convenient. The bowl itself was priced pretty standard and in line with other fast casual spots nearby so I don’t mind. The food was so so flavorful and honestly amazing compared to my usual bland rotation of salads and other bowls. Great textures, protein amount, and will be adding this into my usual rotation for sure!“

“A classic take on Indian food. We started with the dahi kebabs, not really where the dahi was but it was a ghee roasted and pretty tasty! The saag paneer was AMAZING, one of the best saag paneer I’ve had in a while. The garlic naan was decent, I wish it had more garlic on it and was a little bigger. The paneer makhani was also a standard taste, nothing to write home about.
Service was friendly and ambiance is clean and tables are nicely spaced apart which I appreciate.“

“Needed Indian food, this place delivered!! Very authentic. Samosa were delicious. Lamb Vindaloo was on point. Staff made sure the spi e was not going to be too much, and it was perfectly spiced. Chana Masla was very flavorful. Service was great, very helpful, and always on top of it. Boxed up the leftovers for me.
Vegetarian options: Typical Indian vegetarian food.“

“While in NYC we had a craving for Indian food, and Bombay Chowk was a great choice.
The Indian restaurants we are used to have spiciness scales when ordering, but at Bombay Chowk the food is prepared at set levels of spice.
My wife had the chicken Tikka Masala and it was slightly sweet. Still flavorful and tasty.
I opted for chicken Vindaloo and the server warned me it would be spicy. Thankfully I’m used to spicy Vindaloo and oh boy did it pack a punch. Very flavorful, the sauce was thick and more like a stew than a curry. The chicken was cooked well and not dry.
All in all, it’s a solid option for Indian food in NYC.“

“I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my pre-birthday at Ishq Restaurant in New York, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a special evening. The food? Absolutely outstanding.
A few standout dishes that I highly recommend include the Gulab Jamun Tart– a unique and delightful twist on a traditional favorite. The rich flavors of gulab jamun combined with the tart base were a heavenly pairing! The Paneer Lata was another must-try. This savory dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly prepared with the right balance of spices and textures. And if you’re a fan of cocktails, don’t miss the Bombay Cocktail– it’s refreshing, vibrant, and adds an extra layer of excitement to your meal.
The service was impeccable, and the staff made sure every detail was taken care of. I couldn’t have asked for a better pre-birthday celebration. Ishq truly lives up to its reputation, and I can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience! If you're in New York, do yourself a favor and visit Ishq – it’s a culinary gem you won’t want to miss!“

Vicky went the extra mile to make sure that every thing was perfect. All the quests appreciated and the compliments were endless. I wish Vicky Vij the best and wish that his name is not tarnished by others.“

“Chola is easily the best Indian restaurant in all of Manhattan and Northern Jersey. My wife and I drive in bi-weekly for their awesome food and ever changing menu. The staff is incredible and friendly, we've gotten to know them all and consider them personal friends at this point. Any time we can, we take friends and family to Chola. It's is the best!“

“Came here on a Friday night. We made a reservation but arrived way earlier, they still were kind enough to accommodate us. The vibe is great, very candlelight and with music but not deafening. I’m not a very spicy food-tolerant person but I could enjoy our food nonetheless. Don’t leave without trying the Railway chicken. Drinks were tasty, kinda on the expensive side ($~20 per cocktail)“

“My partner has been talking about the Dosa man in NYC for a longggg time! We finally made a trip to NY and NY Dosas was our first stop. Waited in line for an hour and honestly it was so worth it. It was a beautiful sunny day in Washington square park when we went so it made waiting more enjoyable. Plenty of places to sit on the benches of the park. Make sure to ask for extra napkins because it can get a little messy. Sambar and coconut chutney are great! Any time I come back to NYC I'll be visiting the Dosa Man! ❤️🪷 Updated from previous review on 2025-04-22“

“Chote Miya Restaurant offers a great dining experience with excellent food, perfect vibes, and a welcoming ambiance. Most of the dishes were enjoyable, but the pani puri was a letdown—lacking the expected flavor and having an overpowering taste of chili powder in the filling. On the other hand, the bhel puri was decent. Overall, a good place to dine, but some improvements would enhance the experience even more!“

“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“
