We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!
The food was soooooooo gooooood!!
The staff was very friendly and professional.
So glad we got to experience it. We will definitely be back.

Based on the reviews, Saar Indian Cuisine & Bar is an outstanding 5-star restaurant with authentic flavors and warm hospitality. The food is delicious, hot, and depthful, with outstanding dishes like the Sarson ka Saag, lamb Korma, butter chicken, and garlic naan. The atmosphere is decent, very clean, and the decor is very nice. The location is great for dinner if going to the theatre or a Broadway show. Servers like Falak, Prat, and Tasnim provide tremendous care, great service, and are attentive to water, clearing dishes, and checking on guests. They do a great job explaining dishes and recommending milder or vegan options. A word of warning about takeout containers: one guest found the lid on the plastic container was on so tightly that when opened, the container broke and the Korma went everywhere. The suggestion is to use a more customer friendly container or not take any food away. Overall, Saar is well worth a visit for modern Indian food done right in New York.
